Meatball dish - so good! And it comes with four (4)!
    Eliza O.

Tasty is a good word for the food here. The broth for the beef noodle soup is rich but not heavy and I think the noodles are homemade. My favorite was the meatballs with vegetables. The meatballs were super tender and the sauce was terrific! It came with four meatballs (most places only give three) and even had bok choy - a complete meal for me. It's a nice place with traditional decorations and good space. The lady who took our order was attentive and everything came out quickly. Good food, good portions, and fair prices. I will come here just for the meatball dish - so good!

Not too big of a place but both the food and price is good! Been here a few times now and I haven't been disappointed. If you look at the prices they can start off to about $8-$12 for each item, which is usually at least $15 now everywhere else. There is usually 1 or 2 people working and they are usually quite attentive. The place is modern and clean. I tried the "Speciel Hot Noodle" (yes it's spelled that way) and it was just a bowl of deliciousness in each bite of noodle. It didn't have meat, but it was ok because they have some sides you can order which was really good as well. Just note that you have to go order that as I don't really see those dishes on the menu. (Beef tripe. Seaweed, etc.) It seems like everything you order you can pretty much add a cooked egg, so if that is your jam don't hesitate to do so. Can't wait to try other bowls, looking forward to my next visit. Until next time!

Tasty Xi'an really lives up to its name. The food is always delicious, comforting, and consistently well‑made. Every time we visit, my partner goes straight for their favorites: the house special oil noodles, the fried fish, and the braised beef soup. The restaurant itself is peaceful, welcoming, and spotless. The dining area is always clean, and even the restrooms are well‑maintained, which says a lot about how much care the family puts into running this place. The food is consistent, the service is consistent, and you can feel the pride behind every plate. It's family‑owned, and you can taste the love in the cooking. Support your local businesses!! Tasty Xi'an has become one of our go‑to spots, and it never disappoints.

Had this place saved in case we'd be in the area & so glad that we did. It's a small place in a strip mall. Kind like a mom & pop which usually tends to be a hidden gem & this sure was. We ordered the beef noodle soup with thin noodles in a rich, flavorful broth, generous chunks of tender beef topped off with bok choy & cilantro which added the perfect freshness. The noodles were a perfect chew. We also ordered the tofu braised in soy sauce...loved the gravy which we took home to use it for loco moco. The Shanghai House sweet sour ribs was why we chose to come here because we love this Shanghai style better than the traditional American version. We thoroughly enjoyed this little spot & plan to come back

Food is good and authentic. We had the lamb noodle soup and braised beef noodle soup. Taste good . This is second time we are here. Very consistent flavor.

Xi an food is definitely different from mainstream Chinese food so even more reason to try it. We ordered from the specialty section of the menu: the lamb in pita, the hot oil egg and tomato biang biang noodles, the lamb with pita soup and tofu skin skewers. The two soup noodles bowls were huge, delicious and unique! The noodles are big and chewy and I love the lamb flavor! The pita is not your typical Bao or pita so try it! The sauce on the skewers was delightful. If you can't handle spicy, ask for mild. Like the decor as it explains where xi an food came from. On a Saturday night, most tables were taken. Great service and price! So glad we got to try it.

The basin lamb of mutton pita bread soup is now easily one of my top 3 comfort soups of all time. I was told the Chinese name is "mien ge da xian" which is loosely translated to dough drop soup. This makes a lot more sense because by no means do the little cubes resemble pita bread. The texture of the dough is so bouncy and chewy and the broth is so flavorful but in a light, refreshing way. It also comes with a spicy garlic sauce to spruce up the flavor if ever needed by I thoroughly enjoyed it on its own. There wasn't that much lamb meat as I had hoped, but the flavor compensated for it.

Great spot for Xi'an food. Very good value for what you're paying. Recommend coming with 2-4 ppl so you can order different dishes to share.

Great option for Xi'an food in the area. We came at 1PM on Saturday and didn't need to wait before we were seated. The handmade biang biang noodles had a great chew and the rou jia mou was bursting with the meat filling. Great portion for the prices and service was fast.

The food is yummy, we ordered and it came out very fast. The inside of the store is open and minimalist.

I'd say out of everything we ordered I loved the eggplant with green beans & chili oil noodles! The walnut shrimp was good, however, I'd definitely say it's on the smaller side compared to others. Nevertheless, it was still tasty! I also liked the ambiance of the restaurant! Lovely wall decorations and very clean. Service was quick and although the place is on the smaller side, I didn't feel cramped. Will be back again for the noodles!

A parking spot is relatively easy to find in that area and the manager keeps the dining place clean. The service can be improved considering that my friends and I were sitting for an hour and they never came to refill my empty water cup. Their food tends to be on the saltier and oily side, but they taste good . However their ingredients weren't so fresh...

The gold almost florescent broth has an interesting sour kick, almost like pickled veggies. Soup was a nice contrast to the meaty skewers and came with a variety of hot pot favorites like fish cake, imitation crab, napa cabbage, wood ear mushroom, vermicelli, and thinly sliced meat. Also when they see that you are running low on broth, they will pour some more in. This was especially helpful because they serve this over a fire which can evaporate alot of the soup. Fortunately, they serve both. We both love siomai, duck, and crispy salted squid so we ordered the trio. The siomai was fresh. Tasted as if it was just off a lunch cart. It's delicious and the serving size is quite generous. The price is unbeatable too. We really enjoyed its balanced taste. Sometimes, siomai can be a bit bland but this was packed with flavor. The Peking Duck was great too. Reminded us of our time in Hong Kong. Less oily but still delicious. The buns were great too. We both enjoyed every bite. The sauce was excellent too. It had sweetness to it from the pineapple sauce. The salted crispy squid is balanced. Salty yet a bit sweet. It's definitely more of the indulgent side of things. Best paired with rice. We skip the carbs that night, but we'll definitely order this again paired with something else. The service here is great. Everyone is welcoming and helpful. It doesn't feel like rushed service. Ambiance here feels like your typical Chinese restaurant. It's clean and you can tell it has aged over time. You're here for the good food though, not the aesthetics. This is where Duck Palace really earns its name. The skin hits that ideal balance--lightly crisp with a slight lacquered sheen--while the meat underneath stays juicy and flavorful without being overly fatty. It's not trying to be trendy or reinvent anything; it's just done right. The seasoning leans traditional Cantonese--savory, slightly sweet, and aromatic without being heavy-handed. I did not try the supporting dishes, but they had a good variety outside the roast duck. This is where you can tell whether a place is a one-hit wonder or a true kitchen. They had BBQ combo plates, stir-fried dishes, and various sides. Service here is efficient, is part of the charm. You're coming for good food, done well. Best to call in to reserve a duck ahead of time because they will sell out by mid-afternoon. The space itself is clean and straightforward--more casual than upscale--but comfortable enough for both quick meals and relaxed family meals. What I appreciate most about Duck Palace is the consistency. The price is reasonable for what you are paying for and the duck combo meal is enough to feed 2-3 people. Pro tips: - Go earlier in the day if you want the freshest roast selections. - Takeout holds up surprisingly well (the duck skin still has some integrity if you don't let it sit too long). - Great option when you want authentic flavors without driving deeper into the valley. - Discount for paying in cash Bottom line: If you're in Diamond Bar and craving authentic Cantonese roast meats, Duck Palace is a reliable go-to. It was 79 degrees inside, muggy, humid, and completely uncomfortable. We almost turned around and left immediately. The place was practically empty, which honestly should have been our first red flag. We decided to give them a chance anyway. Big mistake. My colleague and I were offered water or hot tea. We both ordered hot tea. The menu clearly says in English that hot tea is $2.99. Nowhere does it clearly explain in English that you will be charged differently depending on how many people drink it. When the bill came, we were charged $5 each. Apparently, there is some clarification written in Chinese, but how are customers who do not read Chinese supposed to know that? That is completely misleading. The tea portions were not larger, not special, nothing different. Just basic tea. The pricing felt deceptive. We also ordered popcorn chicken and chili wonton soup. Both came out in tiny portions that looked like appetizers, yet the menu does not clearly label them as such. For what we received, paying over $30 total felt ridiculous. The food itself was mediocre at best. Nothing memorable and definitely not worth the price. Because of the uncomfortable temperature, confusing pricing, small portions, and average food, we chose not to leave a tip. As we were walking out, the waiter chased us outside and pressured us about the zero tip. That is completely inappropriate. Tipping is not mandatory. It is earned. Confronting customers outside over a tip is unprofessional and embarrassing. Between the heat, the questionable menu pricing, the small portions, and being confronted outside, this was one of the worst dining experiences I have had in a long time. We will never be back. I thought my gf was being dramatic about it but I tried it myself, and literally had to soak my mouth with a napkin to get rid of the oil that layered my lips. See photos.
