Let's first start with ban Chan, the korean side dishes. Compared to other Korean restaurants you get a lot less choices. The Mac salad given was dried out. We decided to go with option c, the most expensive choice. You get to pick 4 selections in one go. When doing bbq you must put the onion so it doesn't stick together to the grill, however the kept on forgetting to bring to onion. You don't get any lettuce either to eat the meat with . .. we had to always request for them to change the grill also. The Alcohol served was wayyyyy overpriced it was 13 for a bottle of soju. Food was good and service was slightly delayed due to the busyness of the hour and the amount of people they were serving. The skinny: 4 for value of what you get, 3 for service and taste. All you can eat, with decently good meats and sides. Meat quality is good but some are lacking in flavor. Atmosphere: Huge location with a shared grill and a call button. Haven't seen a crazy wait just because it's so large. Food/drinks: Sides are decent but not as good as other places. The one plus is they give you steamed eggs and 2 soups as a part of the sides (which most places charge extra for). The whole table has to choose one all you can eat option (price increases based on types of meats you can choose). We did the 21 dollar option and tried all the meats. Portions are huge for each order. Overall not many of the meats are marinated so some of them lacked a bit in the flavor that I associate good kbbq with. Surprisingly my favorite was the chicken, great flavor. They also serve a variety of soju and beer. Service: hit and miss. There is a button on the wall you can press for them to come over but there were times they didn't respond to it. It took a few times to get something sometimes (I.e. We only got 1 pair of cooking tongs for 5 ppl). Towards the end of the meal, still 40 minutes from closing we could tell they were trying to get us out. We've been to a few of the all you can eat Korean bbq and this one is our favorite! The meat is flavorful, and the sides are so delicious. We really love the bulgogi, short ribs, brisket, macaroni salad, fish cakes and pickled radish. The service is also fast and friendly, which is perfect when you're overloading on all the meat! Food is great. Can't go wrong with anything. Setting is decent, could use improvement but nothing that takes away from the experience. They run on gratuity, which would be fine if the service was good... They ignore you for a majority of your time, disregard the requests you make upfront, and when you push the button for service, they don't come to you right away. (I had to push the button multiple times before someone finally came by. Mind you it wasn't busy and there was 4-5 servers around.) I thought that the quality of the meats were pretty good. My main issue is that the All You Can Eat is a bit overpriced and they have a limit on the ribs and a couple other things. I feel like if I'm already paying for all you can eat then I want to be able to order as much as I'd like. For that reason I still find KBBQ places in SoCal hard to beat for price and what you get. But I was happy enough with the food here. The soondobu was just okay though and I wish there were sides you can order with the all you can eat. Was limited in that regard and only one soup as well. However the service is certainly great and the best thing that night? The pumpkin juice! What a surprise. For something I've never had before when they served their pumpkin juice as a palate cleanser and dessert at the end, I asked for a second one and also asked where I can find it. Turns out it was homemade and thankfully they sell those to take home. It's unfortunate how this place has gone downhill, It was disappointing and dissatisfying. The walls and tables were dirty from the splash back of the grill and was not wiped down. We got the dinner option A and tried out their brisket, pork, and bulgogi, Only came with a few banchan dishes and the soondubu barely had any tofu and was okay. Most Korean bbq restaurants offer more dishes, sauces, and veggies but all that came was kimchi, steamed zucchini, fish cake, pickled carrot and radish, and Mac salad. We had asked if they have any lettuce and he said that they only offer those side dishes. It's an experience that was definitely NOT worth $29-30 a person. I would recommend getting your moneys worth and driving a 5 minutes down to dae gee Korean bbq if you'd prefer more sides, appetizers, sauces, and a better selection of items and get what you pay for. Soooooo good! This restaurant is great for large groups. If you have 6 or more people, you should definitely ask for one of the private rooms (they typically only take reservations for groups of 8+). The private rooms are awesome because you and your party can spread out and have privacy, the grills are pretty big, and there's a button to press when your party is ready for more meat. I suggest the unlimited meat option. I typically get the 6 meat option for $19.99 because it has all the types of meat I like (beef brisket, beef belly, pork belly, pork bulgogi, chicken bulgogi, and spicy chicken bulgogi). The beef brisket is always a big hit because it cooks fast and it has great flavor. The pork belly is a little thick for my taste, but some people like it that way. The meal also comes with a lot of different side dishes to share (kimchi, rice, salad, and more). You also get a cup of pumpkin juice at the end of the meal to help with digestion. I was a bit nervous reading the reviews of staff ignoring your table but we actually had multiple servers asking us if we wanted more meat, giving us new water, and switching out our pans. There were a few times we put in an order and it took a few minutes (honestly fine so we could take a break) but multiple servers came up and asked if we had already ordered more meat and very attentive. The place is huge and their system works. Food review: My favorite was the short ribs and bulgogi, while my husband loved the fresh fish and seasoned beef. We went for the C menu ayce because the seafood was appealing. We both agreed we would've been happy with the B menu for the value. I wish the shrimp was marinated but the fresh white fish was seasoned so perfectly with pepper and onions. If it were up to me, I'd stick with the marinated/seasoned meats because they were that much more tender and delicious. All the added sides were good as well and fun to try. I'm 8 months pregnant so I wasn't feeling the egg soup they put out but hmmm husband said it was good. For reference there were 2 of us and we went at 5pm on a Saturday night and were seated immediately. We spent about $86 with tip between the two of us. Mr. Kim used to be our go-to place for AYCE Korean BBQ in Denver! Sadly, we will have to find a new place after our most recent visit with them. There were a few problems that we couldn't overlook. 1. The Wait: We were told that the wait would be 20 mins, which was acceptable considering it was weekend dinner time. We ended up waiting for AN HOUR to get our table while watching 3 other groups, who showed up after we did, got seated before we did just because they have more people in their parties. Very disappointed at how the hostess (I assume she's also the owner) handled the waiting list. On top of that, after 45mins of waiting, I finally came up and asked how much longer did we have to wait since it's been 45 mins. All I got back was the hostess saying "I know" and then mumbled something else under her mask as she walked away. Needless to say, I was confused and not pleased with the interaction. From that point until the end of the meal after we paid and was on our way out, we didn't get any "Thank you" or "Come back again". She saw us approaching the front and immediately started walking away toward some empty tables in the corner? Although she didn't have any problem bidding other tables around us goodbyes during our meal... Was it me feeling the awkwardness or was I being too sensitive? 2. Service: after the exhausting wait, we were expecting the service to be slow since they looked like they were short-staffed (as most restaurants we've been to seem be struggle with this since covid hit). We tried to order everything we need every time our server came by to avoid even more wait time. The button to call for service was either no longer working or ignored, when we tried to get our server's attention. Thankfully, there was a really hard-working older lady who ran back and forth to check on tables, that we could ask her to turn our grill on or get other things for us. 3. Price: the AYCE combo we used to have went up from $26.99 to $35.99. I understand that restaurants have been raising their price since covid, but a 33% increase is a too much. Plus they no longer offer lettuce wraps on the side :( Finally, I understand that restaurants have been going through a lot due to covid, so I always try to be more patient and considerate. However, our considerations weren't reciprocated. We felt like our business wasn't appreciated as much as other larger parties. I know they would continue to do great considering the constant flow of diners throughout our time there. Just hope that they would be nicer and more appreciative for their customers. read more
