We had hamburgers and fries. We loved that the fries are made to order from real potatoes that they have cut up. However, they were cooked a little too much - not burned but a minute or more and they would have been. The hamburgers were good but I was disappointed that the bun is heated on the greasy grill making it really greasy. The produce was fresh and good. Went here for brunch.. easy ample parking IN SHADE on a hot day started me off happy. At 11:45 on Monday, the traffic in and out was constant. The coffee was great and constantly replenished by the sole waitress who managed to keep the 20 or so customers served and happy. Large portions of comfort food- I am a great cook and disagree with someone else's description as greasy- it is NOT "heart smart" food, my chicken fried steak with ranch fried potatoes and eggs/ sour dough toast. Stopped for lunch with grandson, I had the best Patty Melt ever! I have patty melts often at diners and really enjoyed this one. Not super greasy as most are, bread toasted nice and firm, cheese on both sides of sandwich which held it together, onions were very tasty and meat was very good. Grandson had the French Dip which was large and plentiful... He works in the restaurant business and was very happy with his chose too. Service was attentive, polite and very friendly. Lost a star for the fries which were just OK for my liking, a bit soft and maybe (?) under cooked. Stopped into Mr. Moms this morning leaving Santa Rosa on our way back to Oakland to catch the flight. I saw that they offered breakfast so this was the spot we decided to go to and it was awesome! Vey nice little quant restaurant and extremely friendly owners. I had the biscuits and gravy and it was an absolute hit! Tom the owner stopped to see how things were and to chat a bit which was a very nice gesture. Next time I am in North Bay and come thru Petaluma I will definitely be back, great job guys! read more

I just went to Petaluma for the first time and I looked up this little place on my Iphone and went by past reviews. It is a little tiny cafe; but the prices were great, service was friendly and fast, and the food was really good. Next time I visit Petaluma, I'm going to be sure to have breakfast at Mr. Mom's. ;) We went a little later, and was told we just missed the Sunday rush...so I'm not sure what it would be like (wait wise) if you went during the busy time. One of my favorites bfast places! I love the hole in the wall places. Friendly owners recognize and say hello. Servers are always friendly and great about refills. All their food has that MOM's cooking taste. A great place to come eat and relax. You never feel like they are pushing you out either. I love getting their biscuits and gravy, FABULOUS. They sometimes have a lunch special for 2 burgers and 2 fries for $10.00. It's a good size for a lunch break. You finish in perfect time to go back to work and not be over filled. I took my friend to breakfast today and am embarrassed that I choose this dice. Worst service on the planet today - not only did the waitress complain about how busy they were to every customer that walked through the door... She was completely incompetent... Walked past my empty coffee cup with the coffee pot in her hand 3 times and when i finally flagged her down it was an inconvenience to get me coffee. Btw... Driving through town and stopped on a whim. This place is great! A little retro and simple in the decor but food is AMAZING. We had the Mr. Mom's special and it was delicious. We found this place on Yelp. It was extremely busy, however we grabbed the last seat availavle. The staff was friendly. The waitress was one of the hardest working people I have ever seen. I ordered the tuna melt and it was the best thing I've ever tasted. The tuna was deliciously cooked with monteray jack cheese melted on top, sandwiched in between very nicely crisp wheat bread. We stayed with friends who live in Petaluma. The teens we had with us kept begging us to take them to Mr. Mom's for breakfast so we did. I am from Colorado and the milk at this place was delicious compared to the milk we have back home. I enjoyed the huge waffle, and my son ordered the hungry trucker and ate the entire thing. The prices were reasonable, and the food was good. The owner came out and visited with us, and the wait staff is very friendly and attentive. This was my first time here and will surely not be my last. Breakfast was fantastic, as was the service. I had the Construction which was french toast, bacon and eggs. The eggs were really good but the french toast and bacon were the best I've had. I don't know the server's name but even though she was extremely busy she was very friendly. This place was very good and there was great customer service. I got the chucks wagon omelette here with a side of hash browns, and avocado added on top. My fiancé and I usually go to mr. moms because we enjoy their breakfast and the old time atmosphere. However aside from the usually good food and nice owners we always seem to have problems with the service. Today was worst of all. To start, I asked for tea as I am clearly already sick and then asked for some lemon to go with it and the busboy brings it over in the palm of his hand after most likely bussing a table...eew. Then I ordered pancakes with sausage and my choice of egg, over easy. The pancake came with the egg on top which oozed egg yolks all over my pancake. Not exactly what I had in mind. My fiancé asked them to make me another pancake without the yolk on top (lol) and they did but this time instead of coming out with butter on top it had powdered sugar which I didn't have in mind but I decided not to say anything at this point. The pancake was raw in the middle still since they obviously rushed to make it and no one ever asked us how our food was. They brought the check before I was even halfway through my meal and then never came back to take our payment. Our server (a girl most likely still in high school) was talking to the table behind us yelling profanities. We've decided that we will not be going there anymore. read more

We wanted to have the waitress explain the bill to us so when we went to find her and have her explain it, she tells us she added it wrong and tacked on another $10 with little explanation. $45 for 3 small, not very well cooked plates was pretty steep, so we told her what we thought (not complaining and saying we weren't going to pay) and the owner Tom came over and became really defensive about his food and was a complete asshole to us. Needless to say, I work in customer service, he has no service skills whatsoever and we will never be back. Small places like this have so much potential to be really great hole in the walls.
