Went to Mr Mom's yesterday for lunch as we were coming back from Pt Reyes Lighthouse. It was busy about 1 PM which a very good sign. Went in and seated. Very friendly server took care of us. Went on 6/23/2020 (Tuesday/late morning/party of 4 adults). The service was fine but not great. Seemed like there was one server for the whole 10-ish-table patio (3-5 parties seated) and indoors (no parties inside at the time). We had the biscuits and gravy, eggs benedict, biscuits and gravy combo with eggs/meats, and a 2-pancake short stack combo, with a side of fruit. The good: pancakes were thick and sweet and big. Eggs and bacon were good. Sausage links were very flavorful but saltier than the average links. Biscuits are big and fluffy. The bad: the hollandaise sauce was very thick and mustardy. It was really like a yellow mustard-mayonnaise and very salty. Also way too much of it. Had to scrape it off. (If you try it, get the California benedict because it has tomato and spinach, which cut the richness and salt of the sauce. also, sauce on the side) The gravy is a ham/bacon gravy (not a sausage gravy), which is fine for what it is. But it wasn't great either. The fruit cups were average--underripe cantaloupe and some of the other pieces were squishy. Down the street less than a mile is Sax's restaurant, which has *amazing* breakfasts and much better atmosphere. COVID Heads-up: they do have hand sanitizer readily available at the entrance. But they bring condiments to the table in reusable bottles, contained in what once held a six-pack of beer bottles (it's works perfectly), and I wonder if the bottles were completely wiped down after we used them before they were given to the next customers. And then I wonder if the six pack holder is reused for other tables, as it can't be properly cleaned after one party touches it. :/ read more

First time here. Looking for a breakfast place without a line. As this is a ways down the blvd from downtown. Seemed to be mostly locals. I had two French toast with an egg over easy and two strips of bacon. All were cooked perfectly. The portions were large and filling. One in my party had eggs Benedict. He said one egg was slightly over cooked but that was his only issue. The other person had eggs with bacon, a biscuit, and potato cake. She can't eat garlic so I got to try those. Mashed potatoes and green onions fried. I'll get those next time. There will be a next time. Great service with lots of smiles. Prices very reasonable. read more

You ever need a hangover cure come here and all your problems will be fixed. they are always working to make you feel welcome. even when they are slammed with people they make sure you are talked to and taken care of. it doesn't take them long to recognize you and know what you order each time you go in there. If you are a vegetarian and like diners....come here for breakfast and try their veggie omelette. SUPER good. I also love that you can get potato pancakes, hash browns or fried potatoes. When we pulled in I was a little nervous because it looks a little run down and dingy from the outside. Conditions weren't much better inside and it could use a makeover. But, counters and chairs were clean and the bathroom (while outdated like the rest) was clean. The waitress was prompt, friendly and attentive. We sat at the counter and I was able to see the food being made which always makes me nervous. The cook was great. The bacon is cooked to order as opposed to being partially cooked and then cooked to death in order to re-heat. We had burgers and sandwiches which were fine. I had the Reuben which was a little dry but maybe it's just me. The fries I could have done without as they were limp and only just warm. The pancakes and french toast ordered by other customers look tempting so I'll try breakfast here next time and see how that goes. read more

I loved the small mom and pop feel to the restaurant and I understand why the bill was $20 for two plates. The hash browns were okay but I was honestly expecting better. She got a half French toast and I can't imagine how huge the full French toast plate would have been. The biscuits were delicious, no butter needed in my opinion. I've been to many breakfast spots in the area & this is one of my favorites!!! It has that cozy old fashioned small diner feel to it. They've been around for years & a lot of regulars come in because of the excellent food & friendly service. But hands down, they have the best gravy in Sonoma county! Biscuits & gravy for sure!! If only they had the biscuits like the ones at Sam's Foreplay! The hungry trucker is great when ur in search of a big meal! The people who work there & the owners are awesome. Egg was not scrambled very well, brown on both sides, muffin over toasted. Hash browns were fine. Hubby had the special, beef & gravy over white bread. Absolutely awful, salty & gelatinous.
