I've been looking forward to coming to Mr Moto's and today was the day! Came in with my foodie pal right at opening. The restaurant is clean and nicely arranged with mostly table seating. The pizzas are all pre-made and displayed in a case at the counter. There are so many delicious-looking options!! They also offer a few pasta dishes and regular or stuffed garlic knots. Orders are placed at the counter and once your order has been heated, you retrieve it from the counter. The pizza is served on pizza pans and the slices are quite generous (think Costco sized slices). Oregano and Parmesan cheese shakers are out in the tables so you can doctor up your pizza if you like. All of their pizzas are thin crust, yet they hold up to the toppings without getting soggy. Perfectly toasted and crispy, I love how it doesn't feel too heavy after you've eaten. Today I chose the California Dream and Rocky Mountain. Both were great! The caramelized onions on the California Dream gave the this one a very nice hint of savory yet sweet flavor. The Rocky Mountain slice had dollops of ricotta and was drizzled with hot honey. The ricotta is what initially stood out to me, but when I finished it, I had a pleasant little bit of residual spiciness in my mouth that was a pleasant finish. Unfortunately I didn't get a stuffed garlic knot (which I regret) because my pal raved over hers and it was her favorite part of her meal. Oh, well, just a good reason to come back! Two cons for me 1) cashless transactions only 2) paper straws (why???) There are still some folks like myself that prefer paying in cash, so perhaps this is something they'll consider changing. I normally don't update reviews back-to-back, but I've been here twice since my last review, and they deserve an upgrade. The biggest thing they have going for them right now is the 2 slices of pizza and a drink for $5. That's a rarity! You have to ask for it as it's not on the menu, nor is there a sign (that I saw) inside. It's only on the banner outside the building. It doesn't say "lunch only" or any other restrictions, so I'm taking that to mean it's good whenever they are open. I pulled in around noon on a Monday, expecting them to be busy, but they weren't. I was 2nd in line. Asked for the special, told which slices I wanted, said it was good, paid, and the slices were in the oven getting reheated. I sat down at an empty table, checking into Yelp, and realized I hadn't received a cup for my drink. Not seeing the person who took my order, I realized there were plastic glasses by the Coke machine. So, I assume that was the drink and helped myself. They aren't very big cups, maybe 16oz, but if you're dining in, you get free refills. For taking home, well, it wouldn't make it home because I would drink it in the car. Still, for $5, I'm not complaining. But I wouldn't pay full price for that drink unless I'm eating in. The person who helped was nice enough, but not overly "We appreciate you as a customer" nice. She kind of did the bare minimum. After a few minutes, I received my slices together in one box and back home I went. When I got home, the slices were still warm enough not to need reheating. One of my favorite pizza spots I had in OC. They have 2 slice offer with a free drink for $5 which is a good deal. My top two favorites are Mamma Moto and Piece of Art. I also tried the stuffed knot with spinach and cheese which was pretty good. I would recommend this spot if you are craving pizza! read more

Can be a little bit of a winding road to get parked in front of this location but it is well worth it once you get there. There is plenty of parking available though. The oldies playing makes you feel as though you're in an old time diner. They offer great slice deals that include either a soda or a beer. There's a variety of pizzas, pastas, salads, and garlic knots to choose from. Service at the counter was very friendly and the food came out very quickly. They had a generous promotion for two free slices and a drink, today!! We dropped around 2pm and the line wasn't too bad. They have several vegetarian options. We got the Extra Virgin (fresh mozzarella, basil, pesto oil drizzle, shaved parmesan) and the Mama Moto (Burrata, truffle oil, parsley, cherry tomatoes). They were so good! One of the best New York styles pizzas I've had in OC. You can taste the quality in their ingredients, the sauce, and perfectly baked pizza dough. (My godson got the pepperoni and he loved it!) A good pizza place with a nice selection of specialty and custom pizzas. You can order a large or medium or have a slice. The caesar salad was very good. The garlic knots were excellent. I enjoyed the pizzas for what they were, but would likely order different choices than the Extra Virgin and Smoky Greens. On the Extra Virgin neither the pesto nor the parmesan flavor was evident while the Smoky Greens did not have a smoky taste and only minimal spinach. I was on a work trip and heard about this new pizza place through a social media foodie influencer. When I went into the restaurant I was greeted by staff. Staff were friendly and very helpful. On that day they had a special 2 slices for 5 dollars. I ordered the furious Diablo which consists of chicken pizza with buffalo sauce and the Mr moto which is Italian sausage, burrata cheese, Spanish chorizo and cheese. The two slices were delicious and the taste profile was phenomenal. I also ordered a stuffed garlic not. The garlic not was filled with spinach and cheese. If it was for the first visit, this place would be 5 stars. The pizza looked great, tasted great and was perfectly done! For the 2nd visit I decided to order ahead on the app to pick up. Given a 35 minute lead time, I arrived 10 minutes early to make sure I got it hot. The pizza came out right at the lead time, however it was cold and visually unappealing. The crust itself was noticeably thicker and cooked unevenly. What I remember about this place this first time I ate it disappeared, to be replaced with a bang average joint with little quality control. Disappointed, I would average this place at 2.5 stars, but I'll round up to 3. I would give it another try but maybe not anytime soon. read more

Husband has been waiting FOREVER for this place to open. We go to Trader Joe's every Sunday morning, and he always drives by on the way out and wonders when they will open. Well, apparently it happened! We saw lights on, so we stopped in to get pizza to go. They should put up a sign saying they are open, cause it would be easy to miss! They took his slices and reheated them, put ranch on the California pizza, and we were out the door. They smelled amazing in the car. The slices are really big! I took a bite of each and they were both yummy. Super thin crusts, fresh toppings, great flavors. He said the sweetness of caramelized onions overpowered that pizza, but was impressed with the pepperoni slice. I definitely want to come here again, the Mamma Moto pizza with big cherry tomatoes, burrata, and truffle oil looked amazing, I want to try that next time. I don't usually leave reviews nowadays, but this place deserves the recognition as it's absolutely show stopping! I first had Mr. moto when I was living in San Diego, so when I saw they were opening in Orange I was elated! Since they've opened, I've been back with my partner four or five times now and the service and quality every time is unmatched. My go to is the Rocky Mountain and my partner loves to get slices of the Piece of Art. This evening in particular, me and my partner came in relatively close to closing, which in most cases would result in restricted service or even a limited menu from most restaurants pushing to close up. Not here though, right from walking in, we were greeted and treated with the same hospitality and respect we'd get at any other point of the day. Even when I ordered pasta, which is made to order and delicious, there wasn't a single bat of the eye or hesitation. They genuinely go above and beyond here to make sure the customer leaves happy. I'd like to specifically shout out Leslie, Chris, and Daniel. Even while we were waiting for our meals, I could see the synergy the team had behind the counter and how much everyone genuinely enjoyed their role in the store. Chris had sparked a conversation with us while we were waiting too, showing a natural drive for customer engagement even after food has been delivered and transactions are done. This place rocks.
