This is American diner with a variety of all american options. The food was decent and the waiter was on point. The restaurant was not busy on the evening we dined. A total of 3 tables were occupied and 2 additional party's at the counter. Our dining experience was RUINED by other patrons in the restaurant that found it entertaining to go over the loud speaker and make inappropriate comments and sexual noises for everyone in the restaurant to hear. They did so multiple times during our visit. Shortly after we paid, the individual(s) staring using explicit language and again making noises. What I found to be extremely disturbing was that the restaurant staff and disgusting patron found the event humorous. We immediately left with our children in tow. This is a perfectly acceptable little diner. I don't know what sort of expectations people are going in here with, but it's a diner. It might be a regional thing, but in my opinion this is exactly what a diner is supposed to be. The food is competent and the waitstaff is competent everything's just *competent*, and it's a wonderful experience that isn't meant to be dragged out unless you want to drink coffee and sit there for hours in which case it's the perfect place to do that. I've been here several times and my go-to is their chicken and waffles. The chicken is absolutely perfect; I have yet to eat a chicken and waffles dish where the meat is just the right amount of juicy. And wow, is the skin crispy! It's not too salty either; sometimes when chicken is too fried, it upsets the flavor balance for me. The waffles are soft and give me a good sweet for my salty. Sometimes I also dip my chicken in the syrup. For about $13, you get a breast, leg, thigh, & wing with your waffles, so overall, very worth it. It's big enough to share with two! My dad ordered the 10 dollar pancakes with strawberries and whipped cream. They loaded the pancakes with strawberries, which is awesome, because we love fruit. What was nice was that the strawberry topping did not oversaturate the pancakes and make them soggy. Portions are generous for the price you pay. Service was excellent. Sadly I didn't get the name of our waitress, but she was very accommodating, always coming back to ask if we needed more coffee or bringing extra napkins. Will continue to come here for Sunday brunch. Walking out, I saw someone with a very large delicious steak, so maybe next time I'll try that! read more

Portions are generous. Chicken & waffle order is half of a chicken. Half breast, thigh, drumstick, and 2 wings with one giant fluffy crispy waffle. Hubby ordered traditional breakfast and he said coffee is "better than Mcd", loved his hash browns, perfectly crisp, nothing over-cooked. We ended breakfast with a slice of New York cheesecake. They are inexpensive, large portions, you get both soup and salad with dinners, and there is a huge variety of foods to select from. Mr. Perry's is your basic coffee shop style breakfast restaurant. It looks like something out of the sixties. Even the waitresses look like they have been there since the sixties. Like the other Perry's the food seems to come out of the kitchen at a painfully slow rate. Maybe the cooks are still there from the sixties? I have only been to this Perry's for breakfast. The food is nothing special but it is not bad either. The portions are not huge but they are not small either. I have had fried eggs and omelets, pancakes, toast, and bagels. Everything is cooked decently but nothing about the food stands out. The food is not offensive and it serves its purpose by filling you up but there is no joy. If anything, I personally find Mr. Perry's to be somewhat depressing. On the other hand, I can think of a lot worse things, such as the Denny's across the street. read more

My wife loves this place, especially the chef salad. I used to not care either way, it was good food and good service. But nothing especially fantastic or anything. That changed when i ordered the Chicken Maryland special. First off the homemade vegetable soup was awesome, even the toddler ate it with enthusiasm. Salad was good, Out comes A large flattened, breaded, and pan fried chicken breast over the top of absolutely perfect mashed potatoes and a very uniquely herbed stuffing. I couldn't put my finger on what herb was in the stuffing but it was good. And the whole thing covered in country gravy. It also came with a canned peach and some cranberries, which i thought added a nice touch to all the savory. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly, juicy and tender. The breading was absolutely awesome, crispy and well seasoned. IT also came with succotash(peas,corn,lima beans, etc), which im not a fan of, but the toddler liked it. This place rocketed to the top 5 restaurants i would go to enthusiastically. I don't think i could order anything else from now on, it was that good. as far as ambiance, its an old style diner, like really old style like your parents would have taken you and even at that time it would have been dated. The best dinner and the best service I've had in a long time! The waitress was 1 of the best waitress I've ever had. (I wish I would've got her name but I didn't. All I can say is she worked Wednesday October 21st) Anyways, she refilled my drink when I needed and brought my box without me having to ask and even offered to put my delicious soup in a small to go cup so I can take it home. I didn't want to fill up on soup and salad so I was excited to be able to take the soup home with me. I had no idea Perrys Restaurant has such good food. I wish I would've taken a picture of my plate but I didn't. I had the dinner special. Steak, shrimp, soup, salad and I chose sweet potato fries as my side. All of the food was delicious and very affordable. I forgot the steamed vegetables that were served to me were even good. Oh and the ice tea was perfect as well. Now that I know how good the food is I will most definitely be back soon for a another filling meal. I look forward to trying the daily specials in the near future. They all sound yummy. I visited this place once while my Mom was visiting from out of town. She said she didn't want Denny's but we were looking for a quick greasy bite before she had to hit the road back to Oregon. I was a little bit leery when we walked in because we were kind of ignored for a few minutes but when we finally got seated everything seemed ok. The food is basic but good and I believe we were checked on by one of the managers to make sure everything was good (he seemed like a manager type). They didn't flinch when my Mom ordered from the senior menu (she isn't 55 and doesn't look close to it). The service was good and fairly fast for as busy as they were. WOW - was recently blown away by their all-meat omelette. I was hesitant at first because it also includes ground beef in addition so sausage bacon and ham. The omelette also had bell peppers and some other veggies in it. It was huge and very filling, and since i'm on this low carb kick they even had an option for tomato slices instead of potatoes - which other places charge for. This is definitely a throwback to the 60's kind of diner. The waitresses have that "Mel's Diner" kind of attitude, very sweet and motherly. The lady who helped me had a name tag that said "25 years". The food is just what I'd expect from a place like this. Very hearty portions, good prices, and filing. You have to look past the aged location and dated decor! It was worth it. You can tell they have regulars who probably go there because it feels like family. It was my first time, and I was warmly greeted by the regulars and had nice, easy conversation while I waited for my food. While I'm not normally into that, it felt normal here. They have a sunrise special from 5-8am for $3.79, 7 days a week. Three different options. Not bad. Located next to Churches Chicken, behind Arco gas station right off of Mack Rd West. Perry's is an institution in the Valley Hi area. I have had so many pre/post prom/dance dinner's here it's not even funny. Not to mention family meals when we can't agree on where to go, we can usually agree on Perry's. Nothing fancy, typical coffee shop food. The people working here are really nice and most are lifers, people that have been serving me for 20+ years. They have Busgetti on the kid's menu, I think it's adorable. I've been coming here for brunch every so often for over 20 years and haven't had a bad meal yet! Love the U'all breakfast and chicken fried steak and eggs. This last time the waiter service was fast and friendly. The workers here really do hustle, they get busy on weekends between 11am and 12. They do you right! We've frequented Original Perry's in the past, but never made it over to Mr. Perry's until today. Although it's the same menu, the feel of the place was very different. The booths are all tucked away and sectioned off so it's a little cramped, but cozy. Tables turned fairly quickly and I didn't notice anyone lingering over their coffee. Lets just go by the little survey they have at the bottom of their receipts! The food was fair. A very juicy and well seasoned hamburger and a kinda awful corned beef hash. Eggs were perfect, fries were fine. The service was great. Very prompt and straightforward without being rude. Efficient without being dismissive. AND they let you eat before coming by to ask how everything tastes, The value? Well, it's diner food. I thought the prices were fair, except for the orange juice. Do not order the orange juice. I'm not sure if I prefer it here over our old friend down the street, but I wouldn't mind coming back. read more

The waitress sat me down immediately and got me a cup of coffee. Within 5 minutes she came back to take my order. I ordered the breaded pork chops with 3 eggs and hash browns and man was it good! The only complaint I can think of is how the portion is so big and I could barely finished it. My only suggestion would be to give customers different serving sizes. Before I start I would like to say our waitress was absolutely amazing I did not get her name but she was a dark skin lady. She was kind, nice, and absolutely helpful. The other day I went to eat there and got the $22 dinner deal where we got a choice of certain appetizers, salad/soup, entree, list of drinks, and dessert. The appetizers was decent we got wings and jalapeño peppers. No complains. We then got potato soup and let me tell you this soup is straight up delicious. I'd probably come back just for the soup. The entree I got something with the word rib and I was expecting I was getting ribs with bones but it was like a steak to me. Not a fan of beef but my mistake. I got cranberry tea I believe. The dessert I got was tapioca it was bland and tasteless not my taste.
