I really don't mean to change my review out of spite, but I'm pretty annoyed at my last experience. I came in with my friend and I ordered 4 sandwiches with 2 separate orders to make it easier on DoorDash. I also ordered the sandwiches differently to ensure that they'd be made correctly. Unfortunately, I got to the store with my friend and the workers hadn't even started making the order. They told us that they saw the same order twice and didn't want to make it until I came in to confirm with me. I already thought of this and ordered the sandwiches different by making the first 2 with sourdough bread and no cheese and one with Dutch crunch and cheese. I thought that this would be enough to separate them in the eyes of the workers. Sadly, the sandwiches were all on Dutch crunch and that was particularly annoying because those were the sandwiches that I bought for my friend. If they wanted to keep us waiting to ensure that the order was right, then, make the order correctly... It's really not a big deal but I did spend $66 to get the wrong order. 0 stars if possible , had a bad experience with the employees we had a toasted bread that was so hard it was cutting roof of our mouth when eating it. Calling them we expected a full refund so we can go back and order something else and we always eat there but guess what since they didn't refund us we will never eat here again so because of a $14 refund you just lost a lifelong client and I'll tell everyone else not to go eat here! Every time I come here, there is one girl that's working that is always SO rude and unfriendly. The last couple times the Dutch crunch bread has been super hard too. If I'm spending $25 on a sandwich, chips, and a drink, I would expect friendlier workers and bread that doesn't feel like it's going to break a tooth. read more

I finally decided to give Mr Pickles a chance and OMG, I was completely blown away! I have missed having a flavorful chicken salad sandwich, so this is what I ordered. Got it home and was very surprised by how filled this sandwich was! Now to take the first bite...beyond amazing! FINALLY, a deli that doesn't put fruits in the chicken salad!!! I'm hooked! I only got halfway through the meal, but there's zero complaints about having part two tonight! I'm drooling just thinking about it. It clearly didn't state on the rewards a limit to 2 sandwiches at a time on your app. My 5 free sandwiches expire on 6/29. The gentlemen ringing me up even said it was weird it wasn't taking my sandwiches as another customer who had 8 free sandwiches came in and got 3 free sandwiches at one time and there wasn't a problem. Oooo we love Mr. Pickles! We were in Modesto when we got a craving for a sandwich and since we had to return to Turlock we decided on Mr. Pickle's for a late lunch. The workers welcomes us in and we're able to get started on our sandwiches quickly. We ordered 2 big jakes one on sour dough and one on a Dutch crunch. They have always had my absolute favorite Dutch crunch bread so it's always my go to bread for a sandwich. Sandwiches were good, not made sloppy and tasted fresh. We grabbed chips and a fountain drink with our sandwiches. Always love that they give a free cookie wraps up the meal well. Not the prettiest cookies but they taste good. This location does look a bit older. It needs a bit of TLC to make it look more appealing to the eye. But if we're in the area and are craving a big jake we'll stop by and show MR. Whet today (Saturday) it was our first time here. You're not missing anything. I had a ham & turkey sammie. I got 1 small slice of turkey and a slice and a half of ham. Very poor ratio. So much bread with very little meat. They should've added enough meat so you could atleast taste it. We ordered 2 meals. It came out to $39. We won't go back. Amazing place. Heard good things and thought I'd try it out. Staff was super friendly and quick on making my sub. I went with the tuna sub and it was delicious. Best place for rude workers and incorrect orders. I ordered 3 sandwiches using their online system to be ready at noon on Saturday 09/12/2020. Arrived early at 1140 & order was understandably not ready so I waited (no big deal). Order was ready right at noon. Got home and 2 of the sandwiches were right, 1 was a disaster, and no cookies were given. I took back the 1 incorrect sandwich and was greeted by a young, thin woman (disheveled brown hair up in a bun/ponytail). I tried to tell her what the ordered sandwich was (by showing her my receipt) vs how the sandwich was actually made and she told me they couldn't fix the online ordering system and the way the order prints out is confusing. She asked the same girl who originally made the sandwich incorrectly to make it again and went over what to put on it, but she was too confused over the order receipt! The communication factor was not there and it was the untrained leading the untrained. The thin woman (probably work lead) was short tempered and rude, very fake, and had no patience to listen to the new girl who was making sandwiches. She seemed to get extremely frustrated and said she was going to call the owner. The girl remade my sandwich, I said thank you and asked for her name. She said it was Serena. I asked for the name of the thin girl and she wouldn't say. "I don't like to give out people's names", she said. So I waited for the thin girl to get off the phone (another few minutes even after Serena went into the back to tell her). The thin girl refused to give her name saying the store owner doesn't give them name tags and they weren't supposed to give their names. She asked if there was a problem because "we remade your sandwich" (in a very sarcastic voice) & I told her that when I walked in there and told of the sandwich mistake she did not apologize, she did not smile, she tried to tell me I ordered it wrong, and she was the opposite of good customer service. She told me to have a nice day. After I got home and unwrapped the remade sandwich.....are you ready?......it was wrong again! This location has lost us as customers now. We've been coming here for over a year, riding out the smaller issues that have come up (items missed on a sandwich, hot sandwiches cold when picked up on time, other orders bumped ahead of ours in line, etc) but the lack of customer service and the rude disrespect given to me today is a deal breaker. read more

Sandwich was not good. It was so sad too because I have been carb free for so long and when I finally decide to "splurge" the only good part about my club was the Dutch crunch bread. I've been to other locations in the Bay that were great, but not this one. Go elsewhere. When I think of lunch, I think of sandwiches. Sandwiches are the perfect lunch food. They are portable and easy to make during the morning getting ready for work rush. Fortunately, Turlock has a new option for making a sandwich purchase. Mr. Pickle's Sandwich Shop has opened it's newest shop in Turlock less than two weeks ago. For our weekly lunch date, we decided to give Mr. Pickle's a try. The shop is pretty tiny in that there are only a few tables for dine-in patrons. I selected the turkey sandwich on sourdough roll with jack cheese. The sandwiches come with mustard, mayo, garlic sauce (yum!), lettuce, tomatoes, pickles (of course), pepperoncini and onions. The bread was so tasty and fresh and still warm! My favorite part of the meal (besides my yummy sandwich) was the freshly baked chocolate cookie. A cookie is served with each sandwich, which I thought was a nice addition. The only thing that kind of disappointed me was the beverage situation. Beverages are only available in a bottle or can. I just wanted a glass of water, but I had to buy a bottle. Not a big deal, but just something that I noticed. All in all, I really enjoyed my sandwich and cookie (and bottle of water). Pros: I love these sandwiches. I started coming here a couple months ago and I keep coming back. I can't get enough of their Dutch crunch bread. It has a perfect crunch and flavor of the dough. Their sandwich flavor combinations are all great, classic with a twist and everything is delicious. There's something for everyone. I love that you can get "Everything" on each sandwich for no extra charge, me being a topping lover. I've been enjoying their new "happy hour" where you can get a full size sandwich for $6 between 2-4pm which is basically half price. They pack these sandwiches and they're very filling. Cons: My only complaint would be their limited hours which aren't very convenient. There's been a few times where I've stopped by to find they were already closed 15-30 minutes before their supposed closing time. You can imagine I was disappointed. They also close early in the evening so it makes it hard to get for dinner. read more

FOOD POISING!! My co worker and I got a veggie sandwich which had pesto and garlic sauce on it. We've had it many times before no problem. Unfortunately this time we both felt sick to our stomach! Today was my first visit and I am very pleased with my order!! My sandwiches were perfect.... I will definitely be back! I need to update and change my review..... I returned to Mr Pickles after a drs appt with my husband. Ordered my favorite sandwich.. the Italian, and asked that it be made on sliced wheat bread. We grabbed and ran with our lunch. Ten minutes out I opened my sandwich to find it made with a French roll! All WRONG! I cannot bite into into it because I have braces! I have no way to cut it up and tearing it is out of the question. I immediately called the store to complain they told me that they were sorry and they would replace it but I had a week to do so. So not fair!! I am a truck driver and I work long hours AND I do not live in Turlock. Needless to say the week came and went and my money was wasted on a sandwich I never ate. The Turlock, Mr Pickle on Geer, is the best, great sandwiches, great service, at least a once a week stop

This review is dedicated to the hardworking fella underneath that pickle costume. Imagine having to dance around in that thing, under heat reaching 104 degrees, waving that sign? I only hope he is as cool as a cucumber! Anyway, it is only because of that dancing pickle that we considered going there for lunch. It's okay. I can safely say that I like them better than Subway or Quiznos. Their sandwich creations are unique. I mean, where else can you find a sandwich with fresh avocado or cranberry sauce as fillings? I ordered the Hang Loose- hot pastrami, bacon, cream cheese and avocado on a Dutch Crunch Roll. The kids got PB&J and plain ham sandwich. Each came with a juice box, apple sauce, cookie, a toy, a rubber ball and Mr. Pickles tattoo. All that, plus a bag of chips, came out to $21.00. Holy Banana! I didn't even get a drink! That's pretty hefty for sandwiches. And my greatest disappointment was that they don't serve pickles on the side! So why then call yourself Mr. Pickles? And PS- They only accept cash or debit card (with a .79 transaction fee.) read more

(Warning: This is the effect of living in a small town and working in an even smaller one. Things get blow out of proportion due to utter lack of anything better to do with free time.) Although I have only eaten here once, it used to add the mystery that my summer thrived on. Years ago, when I was working in Ceres, I would drive by the corner of Hawkeye and Geer and there he was, the dancing pickle man. I saw him, every single day, legitimately dancing. Great musculature. Always moving. Who was this staff member? I thought that, even though I only knew what his arms and legs looked like, I would know him when I saw him. Well, I never saw him. He disappeared at some point and the best part of that daily drive faded with the seasons. Mr. Pickles stuck in my mind though, always shaming his sub-par replacements (who could live up to that?). As a result, quite a while later, I ate a sandwich there. The staff were very fun and the sandwich was a solid "meh." The mystery of that summer will always linger in the air around that corner, far more memorable than the sandwich I had bought to investigate. In his memory, whoever he was, they have earned a solid 4. It would have been a 5, but I ate the sandwich so that was a major mark against them in my book. read more

I always see the dancing pickle guy on the corner and giggle every time. He's so cute! He wasn't out there when I went in for lunch today, but while I was in line, I saw him come out from the employee room to start his dancing shift! That was pretty exciting. Pathetic, much? Yup. I got the Italian Stallion sandwich. Sounds pretty legit, right? It came with salami, pastrami, ham, cheese, and Italian dressing, plus whatever extra goodies you want in there. There are like, five types of bread to choose from. I chose sourdough, but next time I think I'll get the sweet roll. Overall, the sandwich was very fresh, delicious, and filling. I actually couldn't finish the whole thing because it was so big. Also, because I wanted to be able to eat the FREE DELICIOUS CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE that they give you! When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was that one of the tables wasn't clean. It wasn't dirty with food but it had some crumbs and other things people left behind, like a straw. They only have one vegetarian option, which isn't good for me if I plan to be a regular customer. However, the one they do have is very good . It took me like 20 min to get my sandwich, which is not good if you are in a rush. On a few occasions they're burnt, which is a slight bummer but not the end of the world. You can place/pay for your order online for 10% off. And no wait time once you get to the store, just pick it up! Although I find that ordering in-store is always a quick process. I've never had an order go wrong; perhaps that's because I keep things simple with my sandwiches! I usually order the Vegetarian or Tom Turkey, and I'd highly recommend both. Tried calling in an order Which no one ever picked up the phone so I had go and order there which took half of my lunch hour. When I got my sandwich back to work and opened it up, it was thrown in mess. All soggy, hardly any chicken, and very hard to hold and eat, more like pieces while eating due to it being so soggy. Typically this is one of my favorite spots for great sandwich. Unfortunately today I ordered a sandwich to go and be delivered by doordash. When the sandwich arrived it was delivered on stale hard bread, improperly prepared with missing ingredients, and about half of the normal amount of chicken salad put on a whole sandwich. When I called and complained with doordash they offered to give me doordash credits or redelivery. When I agreed to a redelivery and asked them to ensure that the same mistakes weren't made, they insisted over and over again that they were unable to reach the restaurant to make that request. Then offered to give me a $6.75 doordash credit on a $21 purchase. I will never do business with doordash again, nor will I ever entertain the idea I'm going in to mr. Pickles when they deliver substandard orders to their customers. read more
