After returning to this place a handful of times since my initial review, I've tried all of the sandwiches plus the shawarma fries. I have yet to order any of the rice dishes. My favorite sandwich is definitely the falafel because it comes with two sides (I got fries and babaganoush). Plus, the crispy falafel gives the sandwich a satisfying crunch. As for my least fave item, the shawarma fries did not meet my expectations. Though the fries themselves did manage to stay crispy despite being doused in the "special shawarma sauce," the flavor of the sauce itself was too tart for me. I think excessive sumac might be the culprit here again, but it's possible they also used too much lemon juice for my preference as well. Either way, I couldn't discern any other flavor from the sauce besides sourness. The creamy texture was good, though, and its lukewarm temperature made it easy to dig in immediately (I assume the sauce cooled down the shawarma and fries). Sadly, the beef shawarma was below par this time because it was overly tough and chewy, so I couldn't even finish it (though I did eat all the fries). Still, I've had several great meals here and only one miss with the shawarma fries. That said, the 4-star rating still stands! read more

We found this place sorry on accident when going to use the restroom in the mall which is located in the food court. We had plans to go to sushi for lunch but the food smelt so good at Mr. Shawarma that we decided to try it. Boy are we glad we did. My husband and I both got the Beef kabob plate which came with two beef kabobs grilled tomato and grilled onion on a bed of yellow rice, with the fresh hummus a salad and pita bread and of course the sauces. The lady cooked it fresh so we had to wait 10 mins but boy was it worth it. The freshness was obvious and the flavors just jumped around in your mouth we will definitely be going back just to eat here. read more

Happy to rate this restaurant 5 stars. I had the Babaganoush and falafel sandwich and both have a home made authenticity that is delicious and resonably priced. The babganoush was topped with olive oil and sprinkled spice. The falafel sandwich came with pickled vegetables and peppers. Worth a trip to the mall all by itself. read more

Not the type of Turkish shawarma I am so used to growing up, so a bit disappointed on that. The beef reminded me of kanikama, or imitation crab meat. Love them so much we ordered 2 more--one for grandparents at home. Very good, and fresh food. The pic is chicken shawarma which i liked the most. Though I was disappointed with my meal when it was smothered in their garlic sauce and it just tasted very generic and made the food a lot heavier than it needed to be. I also watched one of the workers handle a wad of cash before using the same hand/glove to rearrange meat on another customers plate before serving it to them. Really great alternative to the average American cuisine. Mr. Shawarma at the Westminster mall is exactly what was needed to have an enjoyable "mall dining" experience and have a taste of culture mixed in. The three owners, who happen to be brothers of the restaurant are extremely kind, courteous and generous to their guests. I love this place, it's located in the food court of a moribund mall and for all of that serves quality food with great service. The fries have sumac sprinkled on them and the shawarma wrap comes with an assortment of pickled vegetables, and I'm not saying that makes it like, healthy or anything but it makes it feel more sophisticated than typical food court affair. read more
