Great place for fresh made boba and unique drinks! I had been to Mr Sun Tea before in Cupertino and was excited to see that they had opened one in Mountain View. They're currently in their soft opening stage, and taking orders in store as well as online. I came by on a Sunday afternoon and it was a little busy with a few parties inside waiting for drinks as well as ordering. Service was a little slow as it took 10 minutes to order with 3 parties ahead of me and it took 15-20 minutes to receive my order, but they're definitely still trying to work out the kinks. I got the Mr Sun Green Tea (the one that comes with non-alcoholic Heineken) and added crystal boba. For 25% sweet, it was definitely still pretty sweet so I would get 0% next time. The drink was extremely refreshing. The Heineken surprisingly went really well with the fruity flavors of the drink. It was around $7 for the drink, which is a little on the pricy side, but could see it being good once in a while as a treat. Parking is plenty in the garage at the apartment complex that the storefront is at. There's a lower level you can go down to in the case the ground level spots are taken. read more

I love their store made boba. It's delicious! Highly recommend: Angel Caramel with coconut jelly and brown sugar boba 50% sweet The mango boba milk tea is also very good. I come here when I want good boba. Of the 3, my quality ranking is: 1. PA, 2. Cupertino and 3. MV. I've been to the last 2 more but I do think the Palo Alto one had the best tea. Definitely one of the top places for boba, imo. Love that they offer different flavored boba (which they make all in-house, and you can see them directly making it from the counter). Also one of the few places I've seen where blueberry is a flavor for milk tea, which is my go-to here. This location is already pretty spacious and can accommodate a few groups at the same time with seating. Plenty of other items I'll be going back to for - give this a try. read more

They have the best boba! The owner lady let me try different flavors of boba and they are all really good. But I personally think the brown sugar is the best since it goes well with any drink! I came here a couple times during soft opening and it was a little confusing at that time but I tried again recently the service is so much better and faster! I've noticed Mr. Sun Teas have been popping up lately so when I saw it on the way, I was excited to grab a drink. I got the Mr. Sun Green Tea w/ Non-Alcoholic Heineken Beer and it was great! It was complex in flavor, the tea was very fresh, and you can really taste the Heineken flavor. The boba was spot on in terms of texture, taste, and quality. My BF got the passion fruit green tea with no boba. It was very fresh and fruity. I wish there was a Mr. Sun Tea a little closer to me so I can try out the other flavors. read more

I've been craving Mr Sun strawberry boba for the past week and finally got to try their Mountain View location today. Unfortunately the pearls that I got were a bit hard in the middle, which I've never experienced at their other locations :( The grapefruit mojito green tea is refreshing and tasty, but the uniquely textured boba is the main reason I want to visit. I brought my kids to Mr. Sun for the first time after seeing that they use quality teas and ingredients from Taiwan and do not use preservatives. Even though the place was busy, the woman at the counter gave out boba samples and was patient with my kids. She also recommended 25% sweetness for my tea, which is a good choice with the mango boba. My kids loved their fruity milk drinks, and we all thought the bobas were the perfect QQ texture. Note that they may run out of some ingredients later in the afternoon. The quality of the drinks and the ingredients is excellent and I can vouch for the deliciousness of their creations. However, their operations and service is a mess. It's not a busy place at all when I come in (my 2nd time here) and all the people ahead of me had their orders messed up.I personally had a small request to have my toppings be put on a separate cup, which they refused. I'm not sure how difficult it can be to give your customer an extra cup but they could not stop go on about franchise regulations. There's an old lady there that is the Owner\Manager. This was incredibly bad! It seems like the people here don't know how to make tea at all! I understand that this is a place to get badly processed sugary "tea" - but you'd think they'd know a little bit. I'm surprised Mr. Sun @ MTV received only 3.5 stars. I can understand that service was slower during soft opening and their mobile check out is a bit clunky. Now you can pay inside, which I much prefer as I can use Apple Pay. However, their handmade boba is AMAZING - chewy and soft; definitely taste the freshness and quality compared to other boba shops. The owner, Jennifer really cares about the quality and ensures her employees take extra care in crafting the drinks. I should know because I benefitted from a free drink when an employee forgot to add an ingredient :) Overall, very friendly staff and I'm sure service will pick up once they tease out the opening logistics. Worst experience with Mr.Sun EVER. First time come to this location, no one cared, online order and waited 30 minutes when there was barely a line. People came after me get their drink BEFORE me. They literally made one of my drink then skip another of my drink to make drink for other customers. Wont ever come back. To the manager: if you train new associates, please don't schedule them all together and give no care of what they do!!! Customers came after me had no idea what to do. I love getting the Peach Jasmine green tea with rainbow boba when I want something simple and refreshing, or one of the Mr Sun special strawberry or mango drinks when I'm in the mood for something more decadent. I went the other day and got the strawberry boba milk tea at 75% sweetness and the passion fruit green tea with coconut jelly and boba at 50% sweetness. The strawberry boba was the perfect chewiness and I could clearly taste the strawberries used to make it. The passion fruit green tea was too sweet even at 50% -- I would recommend 25% or even 0% sweetness. For the price point, I think these drinks are worth it. Tea was bland, the mango boba just tasted like starch, not even a hint of mango whatsoever and found the quality of the drink to be inconsistent between the two locations. The staff was very friendly and gave us a free sample of different types of boba (all of them made in-store) to try before ordering, all of them with a very 'Q' texture as they would say in Taiwan.
