Easily the best Sushi in Columbus. The Salmon is ridiculously good...

This is my first yelp review. I felt compelled to write this to hopefully help the management at this restaurant. We waited awhile to get seated for lunch. However nobody ever came acknowledge us. Clearly the servers saw us but no one even said something like "sorry we are short staffed, please wait a moment." So we left and went a few doors down to Tuccis, which always has excellent service. Don't know if Mr Sushi is satisfied with their business and earnings so as to treat customers this way, if they are content with how they treat their customers... If I was a restaurant owner I would be embarrassed about potential customers leaving due to not even getting seated!! I guess I won't be back. (They may not miss my business anyway.) read more

The food was great & always is, but the carry-out experience today was seriously lacking. My wife picked up 3 rolls and 2 nigiri. The 3 rolls fit perfectly in the container. The problem with that is they were for more than 1 person & separating them caused them to pull apart and just not the experience you want with a nice spicy tuna or kinky roll. Also there wasn't any Wasabi or soy for the rolls. The nigiri was fine and came with the regular amount of Wasabi and barely enough soy to cover the bottom of the 2 oz container. Thankfully we had more soy at home, but we had to split the nigiri's Wasabi with all the rolls. Just annoying. We'll have to be sure to check future carryout orders and recommend the same to others. read more

Used to love this place but the service was terrible on Mothers Day. We waited over 45 min just for drinks and edamame. You could tell the place was understaffed. Still good rolls but I will stick to carry out from now on.... read more

Excellent sushi but female staff was not very kind. Went in to pick up a take out order and had to stand at the counter while she took other take out orders of people she obviously knew who walked up after me. Sushi was great, but service wasn't the greatest. Another employee did apologize so that made it a bit better. read more

Mr sushi is a great staple in Dublin. I am vegetarian so don't eat fish but I love their Korean veg bimbebop. There are always a nice crowd at this casual spot. Definitely give it a try read more

Good sushi. Interesting rolls on the menu. I have been twice and the service and food have been good both times. I would definitely go back.

Used to love this place, unfortunately new management have taken it in the wrong direction. Had lunch today, ordered dumpling soup, one of my favorites. It never came, nor did my friend's appetizer. 20 some minutes later, sushi arrived. I pointed out that we never got our starters and that at this point I didn't need the soup. No apology, nothing to make up for it. Sushi was fine, but what used to be a 8 piece roll is now a small 6 piece. Check came and no mention of messing up orders, and never bringing miso soup to my friend that was supposed to be included in lunch combo. Oh well, guess I will find a new place. read more

We had a terrible experience here. Super long wait time (90 minutes for our sushi and meals) even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. My wife's steak Hibachi came out dry and chewy. We won't be back. read more

I used to love hitting Mr Sushi for lunch but it seems like there's been a steady decline and now a menu change this summer that took away a few of my favorite rolls. Not a good scene. First, the service is always relatively bad. Maybe not that bad, but super awkward. My wife asked for an allergen menu or info since nothing is pointed out on their menu, and we were stared at like we asked him to make us fresh guacamole or something. After checking with other people a few minutes later we settled on yes, they have gluten free soy sauce. Oy. When our sushi came (minus my fave specialty rolls of course) there were 6 rolls on the tray which was just plopped down in front of us and then he left. No pointing anything out, saying hey here's the spicy tuna, here's your spicy salmon, etc. All that and yes as others have said the prices are high for what you get here. I think I'm going to have to find a new go-to sushi spot when we're in Dublin for work. read more

I have to give this 5-stars because it is by far my favorite sushi place in Columbus. Love that they now have the Dublin location. My favorite roll is the 2004 - flipping AWESOME. Also love the Spicy Tuna. Is it bad that its almost midnight and now I"m craving a 2004 roll??? Hmmm may have to make a pit stop there tomorrow for lunch. Give it a try, it's definitely a great place. Fresh sushi, lots of other menu offerings. My friend got this smelly, sticky fermented soybean stuff that you couldn't have paid me to try. The waitress was shocked because she said not many people order it (ME). My friend really liked it but again - the 10 foot pole comparison comes to play for me here. The service is always really fast too and the sushi is presented very nice and organized. I would suggest going to just order a few different rolls amongst friends and sampling each others - that's the fun part of "doing sushi". I used to like Blue Ginger, but Mr. Sushi takes the cake....errr I mean the sushi in my book. read more

I would give them a 2 star based off just their Hibachi but since the sushi was phenomenal and it's called Mr. Sushi and not Mr. Hibachi I'll give it a 4 star! We got the Mr. Sushi boat. It was really good. The cuts of salmon, tuna and what I think was white tuna were fat and very good/fresh. Their spicy tuna roll had a great kick! Now my hibachi wasn't great - but it was not bad. The ginger sauce they served w it was really good, but it didn't come w yum yum sauce. I had steak and shrimp and forgot to tell the server I like the steak medium rare and he didn't ask so the steak was more well done than I like but again it was not badly cooked. The shrimp was tiny and a little over done but not much. The veggies were really good. To me it was more like an average stir fry - nothing like the amazing hibachi u get at an actual hibachi grill - but again this is a sushi place soooo - I'm not too concerned. I love sushi so we are excited to go back and try their different rolls. This is not a fancy plating and for show type place. It's pretty traditional sushi and I really appreciate that. We had a glass of champaign and Riesling to go w. The green tea sponge cake was really good. But they don't have green tea ice cream :( boo lol My date ordered a piece of fatty tuna. I went to place a carryout order using the online menu. The lady who was taking my order told me they had changed their menu and the prices on-line were wrong (they had gone up) and they hadn't updated their web-site yet. She would not honor the advertised prices online. read more

Used to love it, now its AWFUL. They changed all their recipes and raised their prices. My friends and I have been going here on a regular based (approx 1/month) for the past few years. The service is always terrible, but the sushi is so good that we didn't really care. Now, the service seems a bit better but the food is awful. The sushi roles we always get completely changed (confirmed by management) the the prices increased making it fairly pricey to eat there. The recipes are horrible, Im in food service so I rarely complain and have sent food back one time in my entire life -- our last time at Mr Sushi was the second time. The sushi literally tasted like it had been drenched in salt and I actually couldn't eat it. They were nice and got me a new role, it tasted less salty but was still gross (the waiter said they changed the recipe) -- I get the same two rolls every time and both were awful this past time. Needless to say, we won't be going there anymore, which we are really bummed out about as we used to LOVE this place. Gotta find a new sushi place now. read more

One of the best sushi restaurants in Dublin. The sushi is fresh and well-made. They also have a good selection of other Japanese and some Korean items to order for any non-Sushi people in a group. The teppanyaki/hibachi dinners are very good. The miso soup is my son's favourite. read more

1st visit to this restaurant on Friday 2/26/16. What a fabulous experience. No wait to be seated and our server arrived promptly to take drink orders. Everything from start to finish was exceptional. We tried the edamame, miso soup, house salad and several different sushi rolls. Everything was done to perfection. Three of us went to Mr Sushi on a Friday night around 5:30pm. We stood at the hostess area for several minutes as staff walked past us - no one acknowledging us. I wondered if we were supposed to seat ourselves. Finally we were seated and ordered drinks. I ordered a green tea martini that they had on special. It was good, but I overheard everyone asking how to make one so I am leery that I got the cocktail prepared the proper way. Also, it came in a water glass.. I have never been served a martini in a water glass. Our server was very nice, but a little flighty. She seemed to be confused quite easily. The saving grace for this restaurant is the amazing sushi. We ordered several rolls.. Louisiana, Kinky, Resource, King Crab, Sunday and something with word sexy in it I believe. They were all delicious. My faves were the Sunday roll and the Resource roll. All were very fresh and well made. Also, we ordered the gyoza app- which was delicious, and some sort of teriyaki chicken & veggie skewers that were really good. My wife would have given the place five stars because service doesn't bother her as much as me. She's just in it for the yummy sushi :) She asked to go back for her 40th birthday dinner so we will see how that goes and maybe this will be our new sushi spot in Dublin. read more

Excellent Sushi - I've been here a few times, the sushi is fresh. I always order Sashimi and I know its fresh compared to the other places I've had it. I wish they had more drinks on their menu. If you are not into Sashimi, try their speciality rolls. I also like their bibimbap. read more

SO GOOD! This place is great, I love the Kinky and Resource roll. My husband and I have ordered to go many weekends, service is fast and friendly. Eating in was fair, need to work on service, pretty slow. I had to get up and find our server after waiting for a long time. I have not ordered in since, but I will try again, the food is worth it. read more

Always an enjoyable experience in Dublin! Mr Sushi has more to offer than sushi - I like the nobayake udon and the salmon teriyaki very much. When I want sushi the sushi deluxe and the chirashi don are great choices - the fish always seems super fresh and tasty. The boat for $50 is a ton of sushi for 2 people - you better be hungry! The wait staff is friendly and accommodating - if I have to wait a bit it is because they are very busy. As you can tell I like this place and the food and I will keep coming back. If you are in the Dublin area it is worth a try - you won't be disappointed! read more

Came here last Friday and it was an absolute disaster!!! First we went threw the back door that looks like the front. Then we were waiting for them to take our name an skipped us w the people who came in after us. The food was sad and my friend never even got her appetizer our server wasnt much help either cuz he kept telling her it was comming never did and thats if ur server showed up. Be very careful when paying your bill with credit card!! I was at this location in July and had an additional $4 dollars added to credit card bill. I figured it was an honest mistake after speaking with the general manger via phone. Wrong! I again visited this location earlier this week and an additional $2 dollars added to credit card bill. I've been to much better sushi restaurants. After walking in and sitting down it was as if we were ghosts. We had no specific waiter. The booth we sat in was broken on the back piece and would creak like crazy and jerk back and forth as we sat against it. There was a nice lady who served the drinks and then never returned. Finally we had to flag down a different waiter and we made our order. After waiting a while he brought out the salad which was very cold and had ice crystals. Salad was poor at best. I've had much better salad at different sushi restaurants. After eating the salad we waited and waited for the soup which never came. Eventually we flagged down our waiter again who said he was sorry and forgot. He brought out our miso soup which was slightly warmer than luke-warm. Soup was not the best. Had a couple pieces of tofu but much less than usual sushi restaurants. The boat we ordered was OK but lacked many of the various tasty sauces that come included at other sushi restaurants. Sushi was not bad but lacked variety and didn't include many popular rolls such as California rolls. After finishing the sushi once again it was like we were invisible and we had to flag down the waiter once again to get the bill. There were no mints or chocolates given at the end of the meal as with many sushi restaurants. As we walked out several of the sushi chefs stared right at us but no one says goodbye have a nice night or please come again like most sushi restaurants do that I've been to. It seemed very rude the way they just stared at us walking out. Overall the sushi was OK and the service was terrible. It seemed as if one of the waiters barely spoke English. I will definitely not be visiting this restaurant again and will go elsewhere for my sushi. It is an OK restaurant if you happen to be in the area but I would recommend a different sushi restaurant in Columbus. read more
