You got your white tablecloths, rooms full of retirees, and a vibe that hasn't changed much since the Reagan administration. Unfortunately, there was none of that live music that this place is known for. My family and I came for the Easter brunch buffet @ $55/person. The menu looked great: herb crusted prime rib at the carving station, shrimp and grits, Belgian waffles, deviled eggs, bourbon glazed carrots, cheesecake dessert squares. But the reality was that it's more like an upscale hotel breakfast. Safe, mostly bland, and probably exactly what the "usual" crowd there was looking for. The bacon was overcooked and shriveled. The deviled eggs didn't even have any paprika. And who puts a giant vat of syrup BEFORE the waffles? And their signature strawberry punch would've tasted way better chilled or iced instead of being kept at room temperature. The prime rib was what made it all worth it. It was tender, juicy, cooked just right, and the horseradish took care of their seasoning problem. That carving station is what saves the day along with the fantastic staff. Even the manager was great to talk to. I just wish the rest of the food was better than "meh." A couple of tips: call for reservations, there's no online booking. Parking is annoying because of the app. If you don't have a walker, just use the giant free public lot one block over on Main Street. Also, the "Order" button on their website goes nowhere. Maybe just replace it with "Menu," Luna. Looks like Mother's Day is getting the breakfast buffet brunch encore, so if you want to experience what I did, go for it. I probably won't be back even though the regular menu looks interesting.

We called a few days before so we took a chance and showed up and hoped that maybe they would have an open reservation. Bingo, lucky for us we got in, but we did go early. We went slightly before 5 o'clock. I actually picked up the restaurant because they said they had a jazz/piano bar, but unfortunately we were sat in the dining room that that was nowhere near the jazz piano bar area so we didn't get to hear it. All we got to hear was people talking in dishes clattering. The lights were pretty right so it wasn't really very romantic. It seemed more like a country club or due to the fact that mostly everyone there was older than us and were in our late 50s. It seemed more like it was even an assisted living facility. I'm not joking. That's how it felt but the food was great. The service was mediocre. it's not that they were slow, but they were in no hurry yet when we got there they got made it seem like we got lucky that somebody canceled and that we needed to hurry and get in and place our order because they had a long list of reservation reservations. The doorman I think it actually should brush up or be shown how to approach or work with patrons. We were very thankful they had a spot, and we went with knowing it may not be available to dine there; but to be making us feel like we were lucky when we chose their restaurant to go to; in turn I felt like they were lucky that we chose their restaurant because there are other restaurants that we could've gone to. We heard some patrons complaining about the timing of food delivery and one table left after a round of cocktails. We aren't sure why they chose to leave but they did. We felt their pricing for the amount of food and offering was a bit steep and not so much in line with others especially since they didn't add any extra flair of roses for the ladies, little to none romantic ambiance and definitely no music which would have been a nice touch. We will try them again when hopefully they will have seating in the jazz bar area and we will call further in advance to plan for the visit so maybe I can update the review and let you know if a 3rd visit is in the future. We don't live close so the second visit will kind of need to be a wow to gain the 3rd one as I feel I'm am fair and my expectations aren't set super high but I definitely feel they dropped the ball for me based on this visit.

Unfortunately, his risotto and asparagus were ice cold. He had to send it back. (That's not something he normally does, so I know it was bad.) My food wasn't piping hot, but it wasn't cold either. It at least tasted good. They kept apologizing for the wait, and offered my husband a free glass of wine. He accepted and they brought the carafe over with it and poured it into what he still had left. It wasn't the same wine! They now mixed 2 completely different wines and my husband said it tasted funny. He didn't even finish it. There was nothing offered to celebrate our anniversary. Everywhere else we've been offers you a free dessert. Nope. Not here. Dessert was offered, but not for free. We declined and said we were full. It was also almost 2 hours of being here and we were done. This experience does not make us want to return or recommend to anyone else.
