I went in because my battery died during the holidays. I suggested it could be an alternator issue and wanted them to look at it to identify the problem. They gave me a call back and said "I think you battery died, no need to change or replace your alternator". So I trusted them, paid $350 for a new battery after taxes and went about my day. The next day my battery dies again, and I bring it to my local mechanic and he said the alternator is broken. Meaning Mr. Tire did not properly identify the problem and furthermore they scammed me of $350 after taxes. To make matters worse, they convinced me my alternator was perfectly fine and they suggested I get $400 of other things replaced before my alternator. Unless you want them to change a tire, they are not a good option. They only care about your money and do not want to help you fix your car. Go somewhere else to get your car fixed. Also, they did not take no for an answer when I said I didn't want the other things they suggested, and they even told me it is unsafe to not get these things done to guilt me into doing them. They said my back tires needed realignment which is odd because I got them realigned a week prior. Totally just lying to me to make money, complete scumbags. read more

A year ago I had a slow leak in one tire and brought it here for a patch. They patched it and all was good until recently, when it started leaking again. So I brought it back to the same place, figuring they'd have an easier time diagnosing and fixing the problem than anyone else. Well, not really. The technician tested it and insisted that 1. The tire wasn't leaking, 2. There was no patch in it, and 3. They had never worked on it before. Ohhhhkaaaaay. Two stars instead of one because at least they didn't charge for doing nothing. But Ed Magee at Mr. Tire who is the store manager was very helpful and more than accommodating. After talking about his 21 years in the service and my own time, he helped by getting me in the shop almost immediately, going way above and beyond and definitely getting much more than I paid for. But his generous nature towards me wasn't was grabbed me the most. His younger employees, a very diverse workforce there and they all respected him and he respected them. To see that much respect flowing back and forth between a manager and his employees was truly nice to see. I come to pick up the car, manager Bob said he needed to talk to me. Apparently they were moving my husbands car and did some minor damage. Was super nice about everything and apologetic. I paid for me car and went on my way. Three weeks later, NO ONE has contacted me as to what next steps are. District or regional manager NOTHING. I told them the tire was gradually losing pressure, they said they couldn't find anything, so i bought a new tire. after "expert" inspection and installation by their staff my new (Not 1 day old) tire lost pressure and partially peeled off the wheel as I was turning a corner. I bought a road hazard warranty along with my set of new tires. I got a nail in my tire and took it in to be repaired under the warranty. They lost the center cap from my hubcap and had to order another one from the dealer, they lost the valve stem cover, and the patch they applied failed- it leaked less when it had the nail. I returned to have the patch fixed and this time, they kept my wheel lock and I had to go in and ask for it. A few days later, I had to go back to get the hub cover that they had ordered from a dealer. Three visits for a simple patch. Once things started going wrong, all friendliness and courtesy disappeared. I requested a refund of the policy amount because I'll never use Mr. Tire again after this gross display of incompetence, but corporate was just as awful as this location, telling me I had gotten my "free" repair. No, I paid for it under the warranty and what I got was a paid-for nightmare complete with having parts of my car lost, not a free repair. Give me a break. Took my car here for an inspection, check engine light diagnostic, and an oil change. I was charged $290 dollar for that, and they rotated and balanced my tires which I did not ask for and was not told would be done. I was told I needed several repairs to pass inspection that would total out to over $1000 dollars. I took my car to Complete Auto Repair Service to get my inspection because I felt this couldn't be right and they told me I only needed a brake light and wipers and did the inspection, repairs and an oil change for $128. Can I give less than 1 star!? I went in to have tires rebalanced on six month old rims, they scratched and gauged just two of the four rims. They felt justified in not charging me for the balance job in place of a few hundred dollars worth of rims that were ruined. I am so so saddened. I have come here a lot and always trusted them. Had some pretty pricey repairs, too. Imagine how I felt when I was quoted $600 just for the part I need, only to call a GM dealer and get quoted $215 for the very same part. I am heartbroken. I have been here twice, both times in semi-emergency situations and both times I was treated exceptionally well, the price was not just fair but great and the service was fast and guaranteed. They even squeezed me in with no appointment both times. The people there are super nice and I overheard them use first names with at least three or four people who came in while I was waiting. This is in contrast to the dealer I had just visited at Jones Junction when, for being there only 10 minutes or so, I overheard two very angry customers arguing with the staff over being overcharged for simple services. I took my car to another shop to diagnose a fuel system issue when the mechanic (who I've known for 15+ years) warned me that I need new rotors on the front axle. When I told him the rotors were just replaced on 5/25 (approximately 2 months ago), he stopped dead in his tracks. "These aren't new rotors." I took my car to this Mr. Tire yesterday morning, politely asked for the manager, and politely asked him to come outside to look at the car with me. After pointing out my concerns to him including the comments from the other mechanic, he became very dismissive and condescending, assuring me I didn't know what I was talking about because he'd been "doing this since 1972". He told me to leave the keys and he might be able to look at it. Having paid almost $400 just two months ago, I told him I wanted it addressed as soon as possible and would appreciate it if he didn't blow me off like he did. He threw his hands up, turned to walk back into the shop, and said, "I'm not doing anything for you. Have a great day!" He took a few steps, but spun back around, got in my face, pointed his finger, and said, "Let me tell you something..." I warned him to get out of my face and he did. I asked for his manager's name and phone number, he refused, so I walked in the shop to find the customer service number. He continued to run his mouth at me, and when I retorted, one of the other employees told me he was going to call the police. I encouraged him to call the police considering the manager's hostility outside. While waiting for the police, one of the employees approached me and yelled, "You have five seconds to get out of my store!" He walked over, held the door open, and counted down. It was actually one of the funniest things I've ever seen during a heated confrontation. Finally the police arrived, I walked outside, and explained everything to the officer. He went in, talked to the manager for a few minutes, and invited me back into the store. The officer asked me to give the manager a chance to apologize and make right on the situation. The manager apologized and completely changed his tone. Rather than telling me I didn't know what I was talking about, he explained that the rotors come with a 6-month warranty and he'd replace them for free. The bottom line? It shouldn't have taken the involvement of law enforcement to get this guy to do the right thing. The car's still at Mr. Tire (not Mr. Tire's fault, but the 60,000 mile tires I bought 35,000 miles ago are shot, so I'm having them replaced under the tire warranty). After this, I will never go back to a Mr. Tire. read more

I went in to Mr. Tire to get a set of four new tires for my vehicle. I first was greeted by a rude individual who could really care less about me or my service. Then my service took an additional hour than what they had told me, even though I had made a set appointment a few days prior. And to finish it all off I was charged $20 extra per tire for absolutely no reason. Upon investigating the website I noticed the price I was charged was not even listed on the website which allows me to conclude that this was done purposefully to cheat a young girl out of her money. I was a previous customer of Mr. Tire in Bel Air, MD and I had the worst experience possible and will never return or recommend a Mr. Tire service center ever again. For the entire duration I have had my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee I have always had my car, my wife's, my work and my family's vehicle's serviced at this location. After my fall visit and getting new tires, brakes and other work completed, my tire fell off 3 months later. We do not drive this vehicle very much so it took some time I guess. But I did not hold Mr. Tire liable nor did my lawyer or insurance company for the thousands of dollars in damage to my vehicle, no I went back thinking this was a random event that occurred. Well turns out that is not true, on my last visit to have my car serviced my wife received a call from "Big Mike" trying to upsell us on all this work that just had previously been completed by the auto body shop after my vehicle had the tire fall off while driving down the road. Then I was told I am missing 3 lug nuts and they were going to be $86.00 each to replace. Well I knew this was BS because since the tire fell off I check those tires every single morning/evening walking to and from my car. Reason being is because my wife drives this car and she was driving the vehicle the first time it wrecked due to lack of tightening the lug nuts. She drives this vehicle to Baltimore city everyday up and down I-95, so you bet I am checking the lug nuts. Especially since we had only had the car back for about 2-3 weeks since the accident. Even since this occurred I still check the lugs nuts every single day, just to be safe. Well Big Mike didn't want to hear anything about and he/his manager were not willing to do anything about even after seeing my service record and how many times my jeep, my wife's car and my work vehicle have been serviced at this location. No I was met with attitude and disbelief that his mechanic could do something like that. So I paid for the car and left to go next door to Pep-boys to get lugs nuts, what do you know I got a 4 pack of lug nuts for $10.37! By the way, I received a $13 discount for this hahaha!!! So as I am putting them on I figured I mine as well check them all and turns out I had 4 more loose lug nuts that I could turn with my fingers!!! As I should have I called to let Big Mike know and was met with the wrath from hell, that they would never do anything so stupid and I am a _____ liar, great customer service from both Big Mike, his manager and the mechanic who serviced my vehicle. Don't let me forget the part where we were told 2 hours for service and the car was not ready until 6-7 hours later after I called and demanded the vehicle after the lovely phone call with Big Mike. Never will I again recommend Mr. Tire and I can honestly say you lost about 11 vehicles that myself and my family had brought to this location. Not only is this completely unprofessional, but extremely dangerous and you are talking about life and death when it comes to a tire falling off a car while driving down the road. I hope action is taken against this location and things are straightened out because again they are putting everyone's lives in danger when a vehicle they serviced has not been properly or safely performed. read more

The guys at the counter are great! The guys in the garage need work! Sure you get a fair deal, but if you have to keep going back to fix what they "fixed" then it's a problem. Several times I've been back for poor workmanship. They will fix it for free but you car is tied up sometimes for days. You see, only the mechanic who worked on your car originally can repair their work. If that mechanic is off or calls in sick, you are stuck! Hey, he didn't fix it right the first time, I really don't want him to touch it again! Typically, I take my vehicle in for tire rotation twice per year as I bought four new tires (60,000 mi that he told me would definitely last me for that mileage after the dealer talked me into buying the same mileage tires after 30,000 miles on the original tires. Those tires last me another 30,000 miles and supposedly from unusual wear and tear. I drive three miles to and from work every day and another 30 miles twice to church every week from them a couple of years ago. My auto is a 2007 Toyota Hylander that does not yet have 100,000 miles on it. How is it that I have that much mileage if I supposed put so much wear and tear on my tires. So I decided to buy tires from someone else. I drop it off on my way to work and pick it up at lunch time with no issues until April 2017. they have always been polite and my vehicle has always been ready for me when I arrive to pick it up. Unfortunately, this means I did not always read over my invoice. This time last year they replaced two of my tires without my prior knowledge though did say I needed something done to my rear breaks. I did not notice this until more than a week later. My bad. Will not happen again. Not sure I will buy new tires from them when they are needed the next time. read more

Went for an oil change as they claimed theirs was one of the cheapest available. It was not. Maybe they charge extra for their exceptionally rude service. After waiting in line for almost fifteen minutes behind some over-talkative blabbermouth (I'm not even sure if he was there for anything), I finally made my way to the counter, where they proceeded to mercilessly interrogate me for unnecessary information about my vehicle (Why do they need to know the exact mileage for an oil change?). After all was said and done at that stage, they took my key and I could then leave the desert hot office area. I then returned to find that they had put premium oil in my car after I'd specifically said I wanted regular oil put in the car. I said "Regular oil." The word 'premium' hasn't left my lips in years. As a result, I was charged ~$30.00 compared to the usual $9.99. They're lucky my sick mother was there with me or I'd have made a scene visible from the KFC parking lot. After reading all of the other horror stories from this place here on Yelp, the answer is clear: AVOID MR.TIRE!!! read more
