They were closed for awhile, reopened and pizza is better than ever! This is actually due to a tastier red sauce than other's pizzerias, the other's sauce could be Ragu brand, which is to good pizza sauce (Nuevo Italy Pizzaria) what Chef Boyardee Ravioli is to to Nico Osteria pasta on Rush St. Beside having a great pizza sauce, the thin crust is yummy and crisp and the ingredients for you toppings are very fresh and generously distributed. read more

The reviews don't lie! I ordered a deep dish cheese pizza with butter crust, and it reminds me a lot of Lou Malnati's. My only qualm is that part of the bottom of the crust was mushy, like the moisture in the box settled at the bottom and soaked through. But that was only in a few spots and did not run my overall experience. I also enjoyed the cheese-stuffed breadsticks, a throwback to the Bosco sticks my high school lunchroom used to serve - hot oil dripping out and all! read more

Reading all these fantastic reviews I was excited to try someplace different. Unfortunately we tried it twice and both times were severely lacking. We ordered delivery both times and each one had major flaws. The first order did not have the proper toppings and the center of the pizza was nearly raw. No taste or flavor at all. I was also almost an hour late from the scheduled time for delivery. The second time was much worse. Over an hour late with delivery and toppings were again messed up. When I mentioned it to the second driver how late he was, all he said was "I know". Sorry guys, you had a chance, but I'm going to have to go back to JB's and Calo's in the future. read more

I ordered a 12" (medium) deep dish butter crust pizza, classic sausage/onion/ mushroom topping. Over 60years of Chicago pizza eating, I've tried all the big name places in their heyday, as well as many smaller pizzerias. This pizza for taste and balance was equal to anything I've had. Especially points for the butter crust, which was something to eat for its taste, not just because it was there. Not cheap, but well worth the price. read more

Ordered a large butter thin crust with mushrooms and beef/hamburger meat which is a double charge item. Hubby enjoyed it. I wished it was sausage but that's because its my go-to protein on pizza. Crust was good and crispy. Staff was super friendly. We'd give it a try again. read more

Super picky about pizza. This pizza is way way better than Piquods pizza or any pizza I can think of. We have never gotten beyond the butter thin crust we love it so much. The sausage has fresh fennel in it which is so wonderful. The quality of the cheese is high and the tomato sauce has fresh tomatoes in it which makes it refreshing and fresh tasting. We LOVE this pizza. Also it come piping hot. We had to let it cool down the last time it was delivered! Not to rave, but this place really deserves (and is) to be really busy. You need to order early because on Friday and Sat they sell out. Everyone is ordering early and they only have so much capacity. Also, it's extremely reasonable price wise. This place is wonderful. We ordered the salad last time to go with our pizza not expecting much and it's was wonderful the lettuce was cold, crisp and everything in the salad was carefully cut and so nice the way they put it together. I was hesitant to place an order at first, but I am glad to have taken a chance and order from NUEVA ITALY! I ordered the vegetarian with Butter Crust and my toppings of choice were: mushrooms, onions, spinach, garlic and tomatoes. For our guests, we ordered the meat pizza and fried mushrooms. Our order was delivered right on time and was fresh and very HOT! With this cold weather, I figured it was going to be lukewarm, if not, cold. Seven years later and I'm still digging on their pizzas. This is the best knockoff Lou Malnati's you can get. Nowadays I'm sticking to their thin crust or extra thin crust styles with butter crust! Anytime we have a RP (Rogers Park) gathering, people hanging in the yard, late night fire, etc, someone will bring up pizza and an order to Nueva is placed. Twenty some odd minutes later and the pies are ready. The slices are gone too FAST! There are times we have had to place two orders in one night. Knock on wood we have never had a bad pie yet. Counter staff are courteous and helpful. Any negatives..? Their beverage selections could offer more than just the average soda pop. Also, at the counter you can see a coffee machine & a bottle of Nescafe instant coffee. They have said in the past the machine doesn't work and the Nescafe is for workers. I suggested once, if they were to offer a cup of fresh Nescafe coffee or Cafe de Olla, that'd be something unique to offer. Back to the coffee machine, I'm part of that camp that believes if it's not available to customers it shouldn't be within view. (Potato/Potatoe. Just a minor nothingburger mention.) Try the pizza.. It's nice to have Nueva as an alternative which has stayed in our pizza rotation. Folks at Chicago Magazine put in their top 25 and recommended their extra thin crust. Just ordered their extra thin (regular) and extra thin wheat to try - both are great, but I enjoyed their thin crust already. Now I'll have to have them side by side to really decide. Tips learned since: - yep specials during the week - different large thin crusts with different toppings Mon-Thu, or get a Large Thin Cheese for $9.99, or Medium thin two toppings for $9.99 - if you go half toppings on a pizza, you'll still be paying the price of a full topping, so you might as well go full toppings, or get two smaller pizzas instead - coupons in their menu will knock another $2 off of a $30 order Call in your order to get the specials and you get any of your questions answered by the friendly staff there. read more

When we saw all of the recent reviews for this place we were encouraged and tried a new pizza spot - we were proved wrong. The crust that everyone seems to love (buttery, crispy) was basically the only redeeming thing about the pizza. The sauce was zesty and sweet with no real actual flavor, the cheese and sausage were subpar. The stuffed cheese bread were literally store bought 'bosco sticks' with some parmesan sprinkled on top. Caesar salad has a Caesar dressing that tasted more like ranch than Caesar, but at least the lettuce and croutons were fresh. read more

This was some of the worst pizza I've had in my 34 years of living and growing up in Chicago. The pictures on the website and Yelp listing lead you to believe it will be classic, greasy, pub cut pizza, when in fact it is a crunchy flavorless crust, topped with sauce that can be found in any $2 grocery can, but the worst part was easily the cheese, a thin layer and barely melted. The burger is surprisingly good, I guess I'd describe it as a way better Whopper. The deep dish pizza is ok. I like that the crust has some tartness to it, almost like a sourdough. But in general it seemed the sauce lacked seasoning. Adding oregano, garlic, chili pepper flakes, and salt really improved it. Prices are more than reasonable. read more

Located on clark and touhy, this small pizza place has the best thin crust pizza. 20$ covers a pizza for two and fries. I honestly love this place and have been a proud customer since 2013 of December. :) if youre looking for a friday night meal this is the place. Befriend the delivery guy theyre the best!
