Thin butter crust pizza with mushroom and beef/hamburger.
    Maria A.

Ordered a large butter thin crust with mushrooms and beef/hamburger meat which is a double charge item. Hubby enjoyed it. I wished it was sausage but that's because its my go-to protein on pizza. Crust was good and crispy. Staff was super friendly. We'd give it a try again.

Deep dish Vegetarian pizza- Add on: spinach, garlic, mushrooms, onions and tomatoes!
    Sara B.

I was hesitant to place an order at first, but I am glad to have taken a chance and order from NUEVA ITALY! I ordered the vegetarian with Butter Crust and my toppings of choice were: mushrooms, onions, spinach, garlic and tomatoes. For our guests, we ordered the meat pizza and fried mushrooms. Our order was delivered right on time and was fresh and very HOT! With this cold weather, I figured it was going to be lukewarm, if not, cold. But I was surprised by how fresh and neat the deep dish was. An absolute must try! 5 Stars!

Hands down the best deep dish I have ever had! Sauce is delicious, fresh toppings and the crust is perfection. I'm not going anywhere else for deep dish. I seriously can't imagine a better place. I give credit where it's due and this is my go to place.

    Surprisingly bacon was not sweet.

Excellent! Someone else mentioned that it's reminiscent of the old Gullivers on Howard. Nice people too

I have not had it in years because I found it to be a big hunk of pizza w/o the flavor complexity of a good thin crust.

While I am not a native, I have been a frequent visitor over 20 years and always brag on Lou's as the best of the big boys and as good as several of the lesser known neighborhood spots. Sadly, my last two in person visits have more closely resembled the frozen product they ship from their website. The most recent visit last week included 11 other family members who were "first timers" that had trusted my recommendation for the good stuff only to be disappointed by both the temperature and small amount of both cheese/sauce. We shared several large, medium and personal pies across the menu and I honestly can't say a single one measured up to the standard they have set for decades. The always delicious butter crust saved this from being a one star review, but my next visit to Chitown may not include another visit to any of the way too many locations.

It's still pretty basic with simple meat sauce and cheese, but I actually appreciated the simplicity--it was different without trying too hard. The highlight was definitely the BREAD for a starter! Super thin, perfectly seasoned, and so delicious. It also held up really well as leftovers later that evening. A fun little spot for a casual date night!

The wood‑paneled coziness,…read morethe dim lighting, the slightly chaotic entryway where a host with a clipboard controls the fate of your evening... it all sets the tone for a meal that's equal parts ritual and indulgence. They push the Mediterranean Bread, and honestly, you should let them. It's enormous, blistered, fragrant, and arrives like a hot air balloon made of carbs. More importantly, it gives you something genuinely delicious to tear into while you wait for the pizza pot pies to emerge from whatever subterranean chamber they're baked in. It's both a starter and a survival tool. A reservation is non‑negotiable unless you enjoy contemplating your own mortality in a weekend crowd. The wait times can stretch so long you could starve to death before your name is called -- and the regulars will nod knowingly as they step around your skeleton. Plan ahead. The salads are comically oversized, the kind of portions that make you wonder if they're meant for a family of four or a single very determined marathon runner. But let's be honest: no one is here for lettuce. We're all here for the pizza pot pie, that molten, bread‑wrapped, cheese‑laden dome of joy that defies every attempt at categorization. It's not deep dish, it's not thin crust -- it's its own thing entirely, and that's the point. This is the place you bring out‑of‑town guests when you want to show them something uniquely Chicago without defaulting to the usual deep‑dish suspects. But it's also the place you come back to on your own, because once you've had that pizza pot pie, it lives rent‑free in your brain until you return.

When I walked by, it was very crowded, loud, and busy with a line going down the street. I decided to place my order online instead, but here's something you definitely need to know: ordering online does NOT mean your deep-dish pizza will be ready quickly.Mine took about an hour and 15 minutes which I was told is pretty normal because deep-dish takes a while to make. I had my little stool with me, so I sat outside, took some pictures, and did some people-watching while I waited. There is some street parking, but there's a large building across the street that looks like apartments or possibly a hotel, so parking wasn't the easiest. They have a little To Go area where you can grab drinks and other items. I also bought a couple of their frozen deep-dish pizzas to take home and I'm glad I did! I baked one at 350° for about 40 minutes and it came out gooey, gooey, CHEEZY Iwould've liked a little more meat on it, but it was still good. They ship also. I also ordered a small/personal deep-dish pizza while I was there. By the time I ate it, it wasn't as warm as I would've liked, and I'm one of those people who does NOT like cold pizzaI know some people love it, but that's not me! So if you're like me, I recommend eating yours as soon as you pick it up from the counter while it's still hot. I ordered a soda. Total about $75 If you plan to dine in, give yourself plenty of timeThis place is very popular and the line can get LONG. Overall, the pizza wasn't bad, and I would definitely go back and try something different next time. The frozen pizza I brought home and baked fresh was actually one of my favorite parts!

Vibes in there are super fun and chic, casual but still cute and a little bit old-school I had done my research on our order lol but was really impressed by everything. We started with mozzarella sticks, fried zucchini, and meatballs, which were all generous portions and very tasty. The mozzarella sticks were very silky on the inside crunchy on the outside and came with a nice flavorful pomodoro dip. The meatballs had an Italian sausage/fennel flavor and were very tender, and the zucchini chips were the star of the apps!! Nice and crisp, they were cut into little super thin chips not like a traditional fried zucchini and the dipping sauce on that was also delicious and super fresh tasting Finally, we tried the spicy vodka tavern style pizza and added pepperoni to half. It was great both ways, super flavorful and the crust was perfectly crisp without being dry or overly crumbly. Pepperoni was a nice addition but not needed for sure.
