Shrimp and grits (brunch only)
Angie M.

Just moving here from the Hollywood area, good food is a necessity. We have spent our past few years in the hands of Nancy Silverton so Michelin star taste is always a desire. This place blew my mind. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Texture-very defined and dialed in flavor profiles and tenderness of meat options- great cocktails and a fun free atmosphere!?[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This will now be the place we bring our friends to and ourselves to for date nights. They need to awarded their own Michelin Star ! Also the owners son was the friendliest and is the reason we came. Staff is so fun!

My friends and I got seated right away at 5 pm on a Friday. There are seats available for indoor and outdoor. For appetizers we shared mini beef patties & hot peppa shrimp. Both were well seasoned with the patties being juicy but also definitely mini (half the size of my palm). I would have liked the shrimp to have more garlic and less oil in my personal opinion. For entrees we tried their nene's etouffee, grandma's oxtail, jerk chicken and jerk steak & frites. Sides included dosas and plantains (sweet). I was disappointed with the etouffee as I love seafood and it looked just like gumbo but it missed the smokeyness and a deeper flavor palate. Oxtails were pretty aromatic and salty. I thought the chicken was overly blacked as I tasted more char than meat. Steak sauce was tasty but seemed to be prepared well instead of medium. Dosas were a little dry and crumbly. Plantains were good though, sweet and soft. Overall, we had a good experience. Dishes were either pretty good or not really. Service was great as our waitor made regular visits and was quick to complete our requests. It was cute and cozy restaurant with a large full bar. I wouldn't mind coming again.

5/5 We celebrated our 4-year anniversary with lunch at Ms. Icey's Kitchen & Bar, and it was such a memorable experience! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is cozy and vibrant, and the food is absolutely top-notch--full of flavor and clearly made with love.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of the highlights of our visit was meeting one of the owner's sons, who made us feel even more welcome. The family-run warmth really shines through, and it added a personal touch to our celebration. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's easy to see why they've been in business for 6 years--everything about this place feels special, from the decor to the food and the friendly staff.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're looking for an inviting spot with great food and even better vibes, this is the place. We'll definitely be back! Photos: - Our amazing dishes - The beautiful decor and ambiance #SupportLocal #AnniversaryLunch #MsIceys #FamilyRun #GreatExperience

I rode past this place and decided I wanted to try it. The owner was very cool, [[HIGHLIGHT]]the ambiance is very loud and lively.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food was good no lie and the drinks were strong. Now my only complaint was the server at the bar was slow in service but all in all it was good. Would return again.

Visited Ms. Icey's on a Saturday for brunch with the girls and we had a blast! From the moment you step inside, you're greeted by stylish and modern ambiance! Our entire party hadn't arrived yet so my friend and I decided to sit at the bar for a cocktail while we waited. The bartender was friendly and knowledgeable and helped us pick out our cocktails. Once seated, the service was awesome! He quickly gathered all of our orders while still being able to make us laugh! We tried a variety of different menu items around the table. Cocktails we tried: GUAVA PEACH PALOMA: Avion Reposado, Guava, Peach, Pink Grapefruit, Lime, Ting, Salt Rim 10/10 POMEGRANATE MIMOSA: Clase Azul Pomegranate liqueur, sparkling wine 7/10 Food we tried: SKILLET CORNBREAD: Bourbon Brown Sugar Butter, Blueberry Jam 10/10 CASSIES FRIED CHICKEN & WAFFLES: Three Piece Dark Meat, Plantain Waffle, Brown Sugar Butter 10/10 GRANDMA'S OXTAIL: Baby carrots, oxtail gravy 9/10 JERK CHICKEN: Half pound dark meat, tamarind jerk sauce 9/10 JERK STEAK & FRITES: 8oz Ny Strip, Parmesan fries, jerk Dianne sauce 10/10 I can't wait to return!

I have to say before I went, I already knew what I wanted to try because I checked out the menu days before. There are really good options to choose from. FIRST OFF, the appetizers were so good. The Mac and cheese, the cornbread and Brussels sprouts were all good. We left no crumbs. My friend got the oxtails and he loved them. I got the "THEE SALAD" topped with shrimp and it was delicious. My other friend got the plantains and Cesar salad and she said it was good. And the drinks were really good. I got the coconut rum punch and my friends got the coconut mojito! To top everything off, our server was great! She had great suggestions and checked on us several times after we received our food!!! I will be going back soon!

This place is located in a strip mall and finding parking is extremely hard. The lot is too small and the venues are too busy. They will not sit parties until everyone arrives and I like that. They also have a DJ playing some good music. This is a nice brunch location. Seems like the location is more for Social Media pics than food. Don't get me wrong, the food tastes great put the emphasis is definitely on appearances. I ordered the skillet cornbread topped with butter and blueberries. This is definitely worth it and tasted great. The a la carte jerk chicken. Good but pricey. The plantains were decent.

Well, we'll, well...this restaurant was QUITE a pleasant surprise. Nice well appointed decor, smooth sultry neo soul playing. Oh! Did I mention they have a live Dj on Wednesday/Saturday/Sunday? Now the food. Hmmmmm...best Jerk chicken I've had in Georgia...like the whole state. I accompanied it with some Mac and cheese and it was just perfect. I sat at the bar and my tender; Justin was equally amazing with his drink incantations. I'm a virtual lightweight so I stuck to Margaritas, regular and Strawberry (don't judge me!). I will definitely be back; of this you can be sure. Ms. Icey's is perfect for a business meeting or date, it's not loud and obnoxious but just right. Go...you won't be disappointed

To start, I sat at the bar and had a few drinks until the rest of the party arrived. The ambiance was very casual. You could either dress up or down. Open concept restaurant with the bar being in the center. The drinks were great! The bartender went above and beyond. The food came in a timely manner for a party of 15. I forgot the server's name, however she did an amazing job! The men's bathroom was clean and restocked. I would recommend for a large gathering or just catching up with a friend over drinks. There is outside seating as well. Definitely going back!

April 23rd was my first time trying this restaurant, We had a reservation at 3pm and arrived at 2:45pm. The host kindly set us down as soon as we checked in, which is a plus because more often then not most time a reservation doesn't mean much and you will still find yourself waiting to be seated, So Ms.Icey's gets a A+ for that. Our server was very pleasant and knowledgeable and since this was a first time visit he informed of all the popular drinks, apps and entrees. Restaurant seating and decor was very nice and bathrooms were clean! There was a House DJ competition which was very lively and exciting to partake in! Pros: All food & drinks were very good, fresh and flavorful. Cons: Food outside of appetizers took a little longer then I'd like. Parking lot is shared with other busy restaurants and you will potentially have to park further away and walk to restaurant.

The quality of this experience has declined for us. We went in with a group for a 7pm birthday dinner on a Friday night. The parking lot was pretty full, but it was still easy enough for us to find a spot. Our group of nine was able to be seated quickly as there were many open tables. The menu is contactless with QR codes at the tables. There are very few options on the menu, and it leaves a lot to be desired. Some of the less adventurous eaters at the table had a hard time finding something to order. I was ecstatic to see the "roast fish" on the menu once I realized that it was a Bronzino. I excitedly ordered it and talked it up to the entire table. Thus, I was so disappointed when our server came out to let me know that the kitchen was out of fish. She was super apologetic as she asked me to choose something else from the menu. I ended up eating the jerk steak and frites, with the steak ordered medium. I was nervous that it would be too spicy as I don't typically eat jerk, but the sauce was like jerk mixed with some type of cream sauce, which cut the spice. I really enjoyed the sauce. The steak needed seasoning. The fries were okay; they were crisp and well-seasoned...I just prefer a thicker cut fry and was expecting it to be thicker based on previous yelp pictures. Toward the end, our server brought me out a shot (pictured with lime) as an apology on the house about the fish mix up. I also ordered the coconut rum punch because I'm recently into trying things with coconut cream in them. It was okay. I probably would have preferred the coconut mojito, and will try that if I'm ever back here. Hubby at the oxtails with greens and plantains. I thought all of that was good, although the oxtails had a little spice to them. The greens seemed to have some type of cream sauce on them too, which I surprisingly liked a lot. I loved the oxtail gravy even though I only had about two bites, but hubby said he didn't care for it. We probably should have traded plates! All in all, this place always has great service and a welcoming vibe. The food is hit or miss though. Also, the group was surprised at the end to learn that the water we were drinking $6/bottle. The water came out as shared bottles and was replaced as it emptied throughout the meal. It was never mentioned that we'd be charged for it. As you can see from our receipt, we had 6 over the course of our meal. If you're using this receipt as a guide, it is based on 7 adults. Two people ordered their food to go at the beginning of the meal so theirs isn't reflected in our tab.

I dined at Ms. Icey's during a Mingle Experience event. The food and service was amazing. We ordered the chicken and waffle and the Thee Salad with fried Fish. The chicken was seasoned well and very flavorful. The waffle is delicious and comes with flavored butter. This is a very filling meal. The Thee Salad with fried fish was top tier. I loved the cajun seasoning that it is seasoned with. The only reason I gave a 4 is because I asked for caesar dressing instead of the normal dressing and it was not replaced and also I wish there were more tomatoes and onions in the salad. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and will be back. Their drinks taste phenomenal as well.

Strip climb wings, plantain waffles, pomegranate mimosas, festival, calllaloo

As a Jamaican, I do give this place my stamp of approval. Parking: Free in an open parking lot Location: Random plaza with other restaurants Food: Yummy and creative Drinks: Good I went for a Saturday brunch. The plaza that the restaurant is in looks pretty basic but the decor of Ms Icey's is quite nice and on brand with their island roots. It sets the mood for a good time. It is located on the far left of the plaza with a low sign that isn't very apparent until you get close to the entrance. My pomegranate mimosa carafe was sweet, full and bubbly. There were about 6 glasses worth of mimosas in there. The jerk chicken was juicy and flavorful. The festival has a good taste but was a bit firm on the fried exterior. The callaloo was cooked perfectly. A nice flavor with a soft texture. The strip club wings were just as delicious and appetizing as they are cleverly named. The plantain waffle was also a scrumptious treat. Overall, I'd go back and bring others. They played good music but I wish there was more of a dancehall day party vibe. They have the space and ability to really allow dancing and a carefree vibe to flow through there in true bashment fashion.

I spent $43 (including a drink), and nothing about this meal was worth it. First red flag--there was a big barrel grill, but no smoky jerk smell at all. If you know real jerk, that aroma should hit you instantly. That alone should've told me everything. The jerk chicken had no smoke flavor whatsoever. It tasted pre-made and reheated. Jerk is supposed to be bold, smoky, and full of flavor--this wasn't that. The jerk wasn't jerking. The salmon was extremely salty--more like salt fish than anything enjoyable. The cabbage? Also overly salty. And the "mac and cheese"... I don't even know what that was. It looked like plain pasta with a yellow sauce. No creaminess, no baked texture, and the taste was slightly sweet in a strange way. The mac definitely wasn't macking. To make it worse, the food was cold. And I wasn't the only one--multiple people at the event were saying the same thing and talking about how bad the food was. That alone should be a sign that something needs to change. You definitely lost potential customers that day. I don't mind paying for good food, but this felt like paying for shortcuts. As someone who is known for seeking out and truly testing vegetarian options at Caribbean…read morerestaurants, I have to say--Miss Conduck is easily the best Caribbean flavor restaurant in Atlanta. And coming from a Jamaican background, let me be clear: the usual Trinidad vs. Jamaica debate does not apply here. This place stands on its own. From the moment the food hit the table, one thing was consistent across everything we ordered: it was hot, fresh, and made with real intention and flavor. We started with the fried cauliflower bites. The batter was light, crispy, and well done--definitely a solid starter. I wasn't a big fan of the tartar sauce it came with, but it didn't take away from the quality of the cauliflower itself. My friend ordered the jerk chicken rolls, and I have to give credit where it's due--the sauce that came with those rolls was incredible. Easily one of the standout sauces of the night. Next, I had the doubles, and because I like my food with a kick, I asked for pepper sauce. Now, I'll admit--I made my first one obnoxiously hot. But what I discovered was the real winning combination: adding the callaloo on top of the doubles. That was the perfect match. The callaloo itself is blended with so many elements into a rich, flavorful purée, and when paired with the doubles, it created this burst of layered, authentic Caribbean flavor that was just on point. I also ordered a veggie plate with rice and peas, cabbage, and chickpeas, and they did not disappoint. The portion size was generous, and every single item was clearly made with flavor in mind--not just thrown together as an afterthought for vegetarians. I also tried the macaroni pie--it's a smaller portion, but it's true Caribbean mac and cheese, rich and satisfying. The fried plantains were done perfectly--hot, fresh, and with that ideal balance of sweetness and texture. Then came the rasta pasta. My first couple of bites, I thought it needed a little more kick--but by the third bite, everything came together perfectly. You can taste the layers of vegetables building flavor, and there's a subtle heat that isn't overpowering but adds depth. The noodles were cooked exactly how they should be--perfect texture, not overdone, not undercooked. One thing I always pay attention to is this: Is a vegetarian-friendly restaurant also approved by meat eaters? And in this case, the answer is absolutely yes. My friend had the jerk chicken, and she said it was spectacular. She actually lives nearby and already plans to come back regularly. Honestly, I was surprised the place wasn't packed wall to wall. The atmosphere is incredible--it has its own unique style that really makes you feel like you've stepped into the Caribbean. The music, the vibe, everything is intentional. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our visit. We even watched them handle a large party, and they went above and beyond to make sure that group was fully taken care of. All in all, this place exceeded expectations on every level. Five stars without hesitation. If you're in Atlanta and want real Caribbean flavor--whether you eat meat or not--Miss Conduck is a must-visit. I highly recommend making a reservation and experiencing it for yourself.

Since I hadn't been in awhile, needed to catch up with someone, and I do a lot of reviews for Caribbean restaurants. I figured it's time to revisit. Got there before my dinner date and I was very excited with the remodel. Larger, phenomenal decor. It was lovely before and now it's elevated and has a lounge feel. 5000 stars from me on that. Sat at the bar, small bar chat with the bartender. Going to our table is when the energy started to shift. The server just wasnt the right match for us. My company wasnt sure what to expect. She asked the server how is something, she gave bare minimum telling ingredients. Even when asked if she had it, nothing. Food was good as I expected. Had the Rasta pasta with salmon. Which I knew was an up charge. For some reason my brain didn't register $18 for salmon. Or maybe I thought this was going to be a hefty size. Anyhoo, a time was had. Bill comes $65. Includes a 18% surcharge. I realize this is becoming a thing along with asking if you'd like to customize the tip. I simply asked about it. And was asked if I'd like to see the menu. That was the final for me. She started off with an extremely dry sit anywhere. No have you been here before. It was the quality of service from her for me. Not dynamic to match everything else. Even though the upcharge was a bit weird to me. I would have had no issue if the server matched. And on the way out, no one said have a great night, or come back soon. There was one other customer inside. lol. Would I go back, hmmm I don't know. Would I continue to recommend this restaurant. Seriously doubt it. I'd rather go to the other restaurants that treat everyone as if there doing us a favor.
