Seafood Kapow
Frank B.

Brought my wife for her birthday. The food and martinis were very good although a little pricey. Service was really good as well with the exception with the bill. There was a discrepancy with my bill in that they had two different amounts for the same items. One amount on the printout they gave me to pay and one they had on their handheld payment register. They went with the slightly lower one which I paid. Then before we were going to leave they returned and stated I still needed to pay the tax that was not included in the bill I had just paid as this was the apparent discrepancy. So I had to pay an additional amount prior to leaving. Just not a good look for them. Other than that great experience.

A little confused as I arrived. 2 sides to choose from lounge and dining. Im laughing a little that there is also a beauty/brow bar lol. We're off to the side in a small room here for a large gathering. The staff has been very nice and welcoming. As we all arrived, my cousin did order a tai tea that had a fair amount of hair in it.We did have to return. They promptly took care of it. No.issues. Went to the restroom. It is quite small, warm and definitely does not smell fresh. The food...... Pad Thai Orange Chicken Tofu Rice Yellow Curry FABULOUS. The food was great! The service was great too. The pad Thai had amazing flavor! Fresh toppings! The orange chicken was crisp, hot and very flavorful. My favorite THE curry another favorite was so dang good. I do recommend you pop by and try abite.

Food: luxury thai food at its best here. Came here with my bestie and bf (before we started dating) for a dinner hangout. Tom Ka was huge portion and so flavorful with rich and creamy taste every gulp, pineapple fried rice was such a treat to see given its beautiful presentation. Kapow was good too, with the right amount of seasoning, but maybe I'll get something else next time. Price: around $20+ per dish, which in my opinion outrageously expensive for thai food, but i did say that this is luxury thai food. I'm cheap and usually opt for more affordable options around the area though. Ambiance: once again, i have to emphasize that this is luxury thai food place, it has the dimly lit fancy date night vibes, i wouldn't wear casual clothing here Service: people were friendly and nice, checked in to see if we needed anything throughout the meal, no issues Parking: there's a parking lot in the back with 2 rows of ample space available. there's also street parking out in the front as well.

First of all, Mú has the most awesome Thai food--and their fish is first-rate restaurant quality. None of that grocery store crap. I think the owner still goes down to the LA fish market to hand select seafood for her daily fresh fish menu offerings (on a chalkboard!) This time I ordered a lunch box through Too Good To Go App. Great way to prevent food waste! See photo: I got a lovely side salad with dressing, a cup of Tom Ka soup with chicken and Pad Thai entree that weighed over 1 lb. all for $5.95! I'm a little sorry to tell you my little secret because there are only a few lunch boxes available each day. If you miss out you can take your partner out for a very good meal.

If you want Mu thai food, then Mu's for you. This here's an upscale thai restaurant that serves pretty banging thai food. Yeah your go to pad thais are still available but I think there's so much more to life than pad thai. Get a kapow where everything is juicy and delicious or a tom ka soup to warm your soul. Either way you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The quality of the food here is notably better but you're also paying more so keep that in mind. So all in all, you got yourself a nice dining experience here in a cute neighborhood, what more can you ask for?

Here for a birthday lunch, the food and service was amazing! We can't thank you enough for a wonderful day! It's a small but super cute restaurant!

Delicous bo de lac (cubed steak)

The Thai food at Mu is high end, unique and delicious. The seafood kapow offers a large serving of of clams, mussels, crab, shrimp and squid in a spicy sauce. Bo de lac (cubed steak) is another good choice -- tender and flavorful. I especially like the Alaskan halibut and Chilean sea bass with Thai chili sauce -- truly tasty. High end fish like this is not available at other Thai restaurants. I highly recommend trying these unique dishes.

From the moment we walked in, the place was a whole vibe. The atmosphere was fun, lively, and exactly what we were looking for. The service was excellent, and our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. I always appreciate when a server can confidently make recommendations and answer questions. For food, we ordered the Brussels sprouts, ahi crudo, potato tacos, and cheese fries. Everything was delicious, but those cheese fries?! Whew, baby! ‍ They were the star of the table. Crispy, cheesy, and absolutely addictive. If you're debating whether to order them, this is your sign. The drinks were also on point and paired perfectly with the food. Overall, everything we tried was flavorful and well-executed. As for parking, I honestly couldn't tell you much because we took a Lyft and were fully committed to enjoying ourselves responsibly. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back. Great food, great drinks, great service, and an even better atmosphere. What more can you ask for?

We seated ourselves at our favorite raised table in the corner on the far side of the bar. My husband and I stuck to traditional cocktails, and old fashioned and a Negroni. Our friends chose signature cocktails: the Turbo Granny and the Electric Feel. Now the Electric Feel was not just a drink, it was an experience. Our server explained to our friend that he should sip a little of the drink, then chew the Szechuan buzz bud for about 15 seconds, letting it coat his whole tongue, then enjoy the rest of the drink which would taste different afterwards. Our friend went through all those steps and said it was incredible, like all the flavors were enhanced along with different sensations in his mouth, kind of numb and tingly. His wife was not satisfied with his description of the experience, so she bought a Szechuan buzz bud for $2 and she said it was kind of like pop rocks. These buzz bud looks just like a little flower bud like the end of a dandelion once the seeds are blown away. It comes from a plant. Totally fascinating! We enjoyed our one cocktail each here and just had great conversation. It was a fun night because of the company, and also because we had a little adventure going to two amazing places!

We decided on weekend brunch, especially since there were endless mimosas. Our kids have a recollection of being down the class umbrella alleyway, so they were amazed when they saw it. A short while later, we were in front of the restaurant and were quickly seated by the staff. They didn't ask if we preferred outdoor or indoor seating, but we were seated inside right next to the kitchen. We heard that indoor seating was better for service anyway. The interior of the restaurant was "very fancy," and my daughter thought we were in a date spot. We knew we wanted French fries and opted for the garlic Parmesan fries. At first, the kids were weirded out by the arugula, but my daughter ended up enjoying it, noting the bitter and salty notes. My son devoured the entire plate (not the arugula) and asked for another round. We also ordered the lemon ricotta French toast, made from Brioche bread, lemon blackberry butter, whipped lemon ricotta cream, blackberries, mint, and maple syrup. They perfected the crispy exterior, which contrasted well with the fluffy bread. My wife ordered the breakfast pizza--a focaccia pizza topped with marinara, ham, spinach, fresh tomato, red onion, a sunny-side-up egg, and herb-infused maple syrup. This was really delicious with the tart, fresh tomatoes, the salty ham, and the sweet maple syrup. I ended up eating the sunny-side egg by itself, so we didn't get to try the pizza with the egg. Lastly, I ordered the steak and eggs, but it was sadly a small portion. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out medium. The seasoning was a bit strange and would have been better with simple salt, pepper, and garlic. The mimomas really made my wife happy. She started feeling it pretty quickly. She chose the pineapple juice while I got the traditional orange. Not sure if the alcohol made the food better or the other way around. I was brought to reality when I saw the expensive bill, though.

Unfortunately, the experience didn't live up to the hype. Service was the main issue. The bartenders seemed inexperienced, and our server wasn't familiar with the drinks, often needing to check with someone else. It took about 20 minutes to receive our first round. Our reservation was at 10:30, we were seated until 10:40, and the place closes at midnight so timing already felt tight. Because of the wait, we asked to order two drinks at once for the next round, but were told it's limited to one at a time. That would be understandable if service were faster, but it took another 20 minutes to get the second drink. We were also told drinks from the regular menu take longer, so I tried one from the specialty menu...still a 20-minute wait. It was a frustrating experience. That said, the space itself is smaller and more intimate, which could make it a nice date spot. I do think this place has potential, and I'd consider giving it another chance, hopefully with smoother service next time. Oh Beignets were amazing!! Yummy little donuts!

When we walked into this speakeasy, behind a movable shelf, I was greatly disappointed by the size of this place. It literally was the size of a walk in closet. Probably a fifth of the size of the one in Rancho. The room was so small and cramped. We sat at the round tables which was small for 2 people, and they were spaced so close to each other. Another couple sat next to us and we could here their entire conversation. The space is just so cramped. Maybe 6 round tables with barely a foot apart. Then the bar top basically when someone is sitting there, theres less then a foot of space to go inbetween. The decor is beautiful. I did enjoy the library theme. Service here is a disappointment. There was inly 2 groups (including ourselves) when we arrived and service was excessively slow. On their featured cocktails which was the same as the one in Rancho (6 drinks?), they were already out of the first 2. And mind you, they've only been open for 2 hours. We asked them to prepare unique off the menu drinks. They basically gave us drinks from the main restaurant menu. Rum for the hills and an old fashion. The bartender at the Rancho location is so much better and nicer and way more creative. Able to create unique individual drinks off the top of his head. Not here though. She asked us what we were ordering at least times. And she still got our orders (food) wrong. The glass was sticky from the sugars. We ordered no grilled onions on the burger and it came with grilled onions. She was so unsure of what they carried (alcohol wise) that she had to go ask the other guy on multiple occasions. When the bill came, we didnt get a pen to sign it with. So we went to the bar area. The guy was a total A-hole. He was like what do you want? Woah guy. We're trying to give you more of our hard earned money via tip and sign this check so we can get the heck out of here. Like chill bro. We should be there ones angry with how bad the evening went. Not you. There were multiple flies flying around our table and food. A large fly, and then a small gnat around our drink. It was gross. Overall, it was a terrible experience here. There was mystique (I give you that, love the books). But nothing high end or exclusive about it. Usage of the space and their knowledge of the drinks reminds me of a run down dive bar. They need the bartender from Rancho to come here and revamp everything about this place. The only good thing here is that we were able to order burgers (full menu availability) in this speakeasy as suppose to the one in Victoria Gardens. But besides that, I am 100% not coming back. It just isnt worth it.
