Muchacho is a great casual spot for good Mexican food. You order up front and seat yourself or you can sit at the full service bar. We sat at the bar. They also have an outdoor space which is shaded in some parts and not shaded toward the front. There is a small parking lot as well. For food, we got the fish taco, barbacoa taco and the surfer burrito. All of it was delicious. The fish taco was nice and crispy. The barbacoa taco had huge chucks of flavorful beef. And the surfer burrito was a great combo of flavors. There house red salsa was our favorite and we added sour cream to the burrito. I will be back. Delicious breakfast tacos and cocktails in a prime location right off the beltline. My best friend and I came here for a brunch date and were very impressed. When you walk in, you have to order at the front and take your number to wherever you wanna sit. We sat outside with a great view of the city. The service was great, parking not the best (can only imagine when the lot attached is super packed), but you could easily park near the beltline near Kennedy and walk to the restaurant without a problem. The vibes here are great. Unfortunately I never had the pleasure to visit before it's expansion into the Golden Eagle space. The place is a plant lovers paradise, their bar is decorated in such a cool way. The tacos here are good. My one critique would be that they are a bit soppy, which caused my tortilla to completely collapse. But the flavors are definitely there, and anywhere I can add an egg to a taco gets an automatic A. Highly recommend coming here if you're in the area! We had the Queso, guacamole, elote corn "ribs", Barbacoa taco, and Al pastor taco. Everything was so good! The corn ribs were creative in how it's served and incredibly tasty. The tacos were all delicious and had plenty of meat and toppings on each. I loved the pineapple on the Al pastor! Drink-wise, we had tequila on the rocks, margaritas and Palomas. I wasn't sure which tequila I wanted to try, and the bartenders were super helpful in helping me choose! 2 stars because the patio is incredible and the food was out fast. This is a counter service spot. You order at the counter and they bring it out to you when it is ready. Pros- it's fast. Cons- your apps and entrees all come out together. Why I only gave it two stars: weird service. The girl who took our order was staring at us judgmentally while we were ordering and kept making condescending facial expressions and comments whenever we asked her a question about the menu. In addition to that weird ordering experience, the same girl who took our order decided to take her break after we ordered and chose to sit right next to us outside on the patio. If you have not been here then you will not know, but their patio is HUGE and has many different seating options. This was midday on a week day so there were plenty of open tables. She chose to sit outside on the patio at the table DIRECTLY to the left of us. While we ate she stared us down and it made both me and my husband uncomfortable. Every time I glanced over she was staring right at us. Additionally, We had to remind the people who brought us our food and drinks about multiple items we were missing. Also the food sucked and was really expensive. $16 for a burrito that is French fries, beans, and meat? Tacos are $5-8 per taco. All sides are $5. If you got a beef taco do not expect any Barbacoa flavor or any flavor at that. It tastes like what it is- beef and corn tortilla. Could be a good coworking spot but not sure I would want to go back. The vibe in this place is really odd. Sort of seemed like most people working here hate their customers. I was getting the feeling they think it's cool to be unfriendly to paying customers. Food is mediocre, definitely not authentic Mexican if that's what you're looking for. The interior design is pretty, but other than that, not very appealing. I was hoping for a California vibe, but I can assure you it's not that. Closer to rude New Yorkers than accommodating Californians. Sort of like entering a room full of wet blankets. I can't believe it's taken me this long to try out Muchacho! I'm always down for a good breakfast taco, especially since I went to Houston last year and realized how amazing of an idea breakfast tacos are. First off, the exterior and interior decor are awesome. During the day, the natural lighting indoors is perfection. There are two big communal seating tables available near the windows and plenty of outdoor seating for when it's nice out. Your order at the counter before they give you a table/order number. Thank god for mimosas. Their mimosas aren't bottomless but one is very affordable at $7. They're champagne heavy, which is just how I like them. Two breakfast tacos for $3 and $4 each - the Muchacho and Buckaroo, respectfully. Both were so delicious, especially with the salsas they have at the salsa bar. They're filled to the brim with ingredients. Overall, definitely a more low key and underrated way to eat breakfast! Breakfast tacos are the best way to brunch - and I hope I'll be back to try more than the breakfast tacos on their menu because Muchacho has quite an extensive menu beyond the tacos, too. read more

It was absolutely awful. Ordered via Uber eats and the whole order was wrong (and tasted bad). Biggest offense was I ordered a steak burrito (Reggie rocket, ingredients listed below) and was given a burrito that had 1. No steak 2. Eggs??? (Allergy risk) 3. Potatoes. So the main ingredient is missing and 2 other ingredients that aren't listed are included, one being a common allergy. Their charro beans are also black beans, and nasty as hell. It's a no from me. And speaking of food. smh If you're going to capitalize off a whole ethnicities culture, at least be respectful. Even chipotle uses fresh ingredients. That was the worst taco salad Ive ever had!! I'm not sure if this place was a former railroad station back in the day, but it's got some crazy cool vibes that can brighten anyone's day. To top it off, the southern hospitality is strong here, as an owner/manager type explained the menu to us and even came behind the counter to let us know what they are all about. Whenever I'm traveling I test out the quality of coffee shops by their cappuccinos. Let's just say Muchacho passed with flying colors. Great roasty, bold and smooth flavors from this cup of joy. After many, many years of struggling to find decent Mexican in Atlanta, the city is finally starting to gain some footing to please Western transplants like me. And Muchacho is by far one of the best. More SoCal than Tex-Mex or traditional, Muchacho offers a beachy and diverse menu all served in a retro, surf-inspired environment and features truly one of the best patios in the city that willl make you feel like you have teleported to Venice Beach. We had tried this spot years ago in its several earlier iterations, and frankly were less than impressed, but finally decided to give it a go, as it seems to have grown into itself and it's expanded menu/space in recent years. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon, and the spot w was busy but not overwhelming, with a great, buzzy vibe at its cool bar and huge, leafy patio, where we sat at a great table for people watching and soaking up the sun. For our drinks, we both started with a couple classic margs, and followed that up with some of their creative options- the Bag of Fireworks for her, a fruity tequila frozen blend, and the ¡Vamos Wey! for me, a fruity tequila concoction with a tajin rim. Both were impeccable and perfectly matched the summertime vibes. For lunch, we started with a huge order of chips, salsa, and queso (a welcome Tex-Mex touch, even though it was blanco). For our entrees, she had the best grilled cheese on crispy sourdough bread, stuffed with pickles and a fruit spread, whereas I had the most delicious and satisfying taco salad with perfectly seasoned vegan chorizo and lashings of guacamole and sour cream. The Muchacho style breakfast tacos aren't great-- fairly bland egg filling, taco shells are crumbly, and they charge 50 cents extra for salsa. My girlfriend also wasn't impressed by the avacado toast (not gluten free), and thought the bread was very greasy. Servers are very friendly. You have one person that will sit at a table for four. (NOT COOL) the food was excellent, I had two steak tacos and a fried fish taco with corn. Lots of flavors in the food. AMAZING FANTASTIC PHENOMENAL! I can't recommend this place enough! The food is delicious and authentic (Think Chipotle times 5 million!). My boyfriend and I spent about $32 to try as much as possible. This was a little pricey for 2 tacos, chips and queso, 1 cup of agua fresca, and avocado toast. However, the food was delicious and that's pretty standard for some places. Typically, I would probably get 2 tacos and split a queso and chips which would be about $13. Not bad. The food: -Tacos: I had the barbacoa taco. It was superb. Extremely flavorful, not dry. The authentic cornmeal tortilla was the perfect amount of crunchy and didn't fall apart. The medium salsa added just enough flavor (wasn't too spicy) and didn't take over the dish. -The queso was the bomb!! It was very flavorful and stayed warm for well over an hour. Didn't get clumpy. It was our favorite dish. The chips weren't too salty either. -The agua fresca: I loved it! Super yummy mango and lime flavor. Reminded me of a mango lassi. Nice and sweet but the lime keeps it from being a dessert. Only strange part was our straw was sealed and ended up all jagged when we managed to get it open. -Avocado toast: Really good. The thick sourdough bread was definitely a plus. Still not my favorite (I prefer the toast at Kale Me Crazy.) I'll probably skip this in the future but it was a tasty, flavorful take on one of my favorites. I would skip the $3 salmon add-on. It kept falling off and didn't add to the dish. Didn't super care for the radishes on it. The hours: Sadly, this amazing spot is only open Wednesday through Sunday until 5. Hate the limited hours but I believe this is a recent change due to COVID. Overall: I would HIGHLY recommend this place for hangouts and work dates. It's COVID-friendly. I love the outdoor tents, especially when you can get a heater to work. The metal chairs were surprisingly comfy and not too cold. The patio is covered and gorgeous greenery that creates a fabulous atmosphere. I'll definitely be back to try the coffee and breakfast tacos. Tips! -Add Medium salsa and squeeze of lemon to your avocado toast. Sets it off! -The outdoor heaters in the tents are only on "in the evening." I don't understand this since they close at 5. To ensure you'll be warm, bring a blanket or sit on the deck which has has mounted heaters that are always on. -Get there early for popular dishes like the apple cider. They do sell out! -Parking is on the right of the building. I came on a Sunday afternoon and didn't have an issue finding a spot. -Restrooms are closed! Go beforehand or you'll have to visit the Publix across the street. -The Beltline is just to the left of the restaurant patio but don't leave your car in their lot. This was my first time here! The best thing about it is the atmosphere and vibe. It's so well decorated with lights, plants and pictures. Really fun layout with the bar through the restaurant. There was construction outside but I assume it'll look amazing when completed. I didn't try any cocktails but would definitely want to return for an outside patio moment. They food was so-so. I got there around 8 and was one of the only people there (when I left half an hour later, there were maybe five tables of people - but there are so many tables!). I ordered a cortadito (like a Cuban), which was great. I also ordered the salmon toast (big thick piece of soft toast with smoked salmon, cream cheese, pickled onions, and capers. It was delicious (if a bit hard to eat). I also got a guava pastelito as well, which was flaky and delicious. All in all, a great little breakfast on a pretty patio.
