We went to Muchacho for the first time in June 2026, having been told about this place a while back. Sleeping on that suggestion made us feel like morons after coming here. Dakota took great care of us the minute we were seated. His attention, professionalism, and friendliness makes him stand out in the service industry. He told us before we even ordered that we would be back and that we could ask for him in the future. He was right. We will be back and we will ask for him. The food was incredible. Chips with two delicious salsas came out first. The green tomatillo salsa was our fave, but the red also delivered. We split an order of delicious empanadas for a starter. The hearty empanada shell contained a surprisingly tender picadillo enhanced by avocado and some crema. Hands down delicious. For our main, we spilt the octopus fajitas. These were extraordinary. The meat was tender and perfectly marinated, not chewy or rubbery at all. The tortillas were made in house and also not too thick or heavy. I recommend having the octopus as close to Spanish style as you can with just the grilled onions and peppers in the taco you make. No cheddar cheese or sour cream, please. The menu read like a treasure chest of Mexican food and we will be back, providing Dakota is working and able to have us over for dinner. Thank you, Muchacho for an excellent first experience.

Came here on a rainy Saturday evening and was able to find parking close by. We put our names down at 7:08 and were told a 45-minute wait, but we almost left and ended up staying, our table was ready in 8 minutes. That's a pretty big difference, and I feel like giving such a wide estimate can lose them customers. We were seated in their outdoor covered area and Dakota was our server. He was great and really made the dining experience better. He gave solid recommendations on food and timing for ordering. We started with chips and two types of salsa , classic tomato and a verde. Both were flavorful. The chips tasted fresh with big pieces, though some were saltier than others. For food, we got the classic queso to start, then cheese enchiladas with mole sauce (no onions) and chile con carne enchiladas. The mole was really flavorful, refried beans were good, and the rice was fluffy. I didn't have a drink, but the house margarita on the rocks and grapefruit margarita were both enjoyed, I tried a sip of each and they were strong. Overall, I'm glad to have found a solid Tex-Mex option in the area. Southlake Town Center is also nice to walk around before or after dinner.

We really just came here for a margarita and some nachos. What a surprise to us when the nachos were only five chips. That was sad. Margarita was good. But I was very surprised by how much they had gone up in just the last couple of years.

We had a wonderful time at Muchacho Southlake, a cozy spot inside the Town Square area. Highly suggest getting reservations; they have a limit of 6 but will make exceptions, as they did for us. A lively crowd--this wasn't a quiet spot, more a night-on-the-town vibe, plenty of folks having a good meal and time. The food was fabulous, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service by Ryan was attentive & surprisingly quick. I had the Cornmeal Redfish tacos with the pickled slaw on homemade tortillas, all very good. Others had pork shank, fajitas, chili relleno with rice and beans, and they all loved it. The standouts were the Mexican rice and Old Fashioned; both were as good as I've had anywhere. The rice, just like Abuela would serve you. After the meal, Paul the owner came and checked on us. Really nice touch to finish off the night. We passed on dessert, a group choice, certainly not mine.

Food is always good, I typically order fajitas or mole enchiladas. I also highly recommend their green pozole. Recently tried their shrimp tacos, and they were okay but I prefer their steak fajitas and tacos. I was also not a fan of their brisket sopes, a bit too much masa for my preference. My sister has a food allergy and every server we've had is always super accommodating and takes time to ask kitchen staff about any dish she's interested in having. The atmosphere is noisy, but in a nice way. Super chatty and good music. We come a few times a month and we're never disappointed!

We tried Muchacho's tonight and it was really good! The wait to get in was about 45 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. I had the Ahi Tuna Taquitos and these things were small but mighty! They were seriously the tiniest little tacos, but they delicious. I would absolutely order them again as my meal because they were that good. The sauce that came with them was amazing and really tied everything together. My husband ordered the Suadero tacos and they were delicious too. The flour tortillas were on point, the brisket was cooked perfectly, and everything inside worked really well together. The borracho beans on the side were also great. We lucked out with a beautiful Texas spring evening and got seats on the patio, which we really enjoyed. It's a cute patio with super comfortable chairs, and it's a great spot to watch the passerby's. Service started a little slow, but once we ordered the food came out quickly and everything tasted so delicious. Another Saturday night trying somewhere new and this is definitely one we'll go back to!

Service attentive but not overbearing, atmosphere, location, and ambiance is totally Texan and modern at the same time. Restaurant is a corner piece in a trendy snd upscale shopping center in Southlake Texas. They have a lovely patio when the whether is nice enough to open it up too. Try a spicy margarita or a cold beer. If your a wine lover they dont leave you out either. I suggest the pork belly fajitas or the shrimp tacos, but any protein and meat from Muchachos is grilled well and flavorful while letting the meat taste shine through. Do NOT LEAVE without their famous Tres Leches cake. Trust me. You will NOT be sorry. With lots of options in Southlake, Muchachos is a staple and local favorite for intimate dinners or large parties.

Wife and myself came here on a Sunday to meet up with my son and his gf. Got the table no problem to try out their lunch. The 2 things I have to say is their location is perfect in the middle of southlake. But hard to find parking on street, but garage is only a block away. And their service by our waitress was one of the best in some time. As far as food goes, the prices is a tad higher than average Mexican restaurant we've had, so I automatically had a higher expectation. There's really nothing bad on any of the food, other than the portion and lack of anything distinctive to say I can't wait to come back again. We've all ordered something different, but I got the combination to try out different things. The beans weren't bad, but the rice was dried and bland. Other enchiladas and others were just ok. Again, the service by out waitress is very professional, and the manager also walked around to greet each table, which was a nice touch. But even with the great location (used to be snuffer) and service, 3 stars is about the max I can described this experience.

Muchacho is our favorite place. Best margs, food, service, and environment. We went on a Friday night to celebrate my birthday and it was packed! You definitely need a reservation for busy days/times and you'll have no problem. We ordered our drinks and I'm not kidding they were at our table 3 minutes later. Steak and shrimp fajitas are 10/10. Our server was great and attentive! To top it all off they gave me a signed birthday card from the staff and flan. I would always recommend Muchachos!!!

We came here on a whim for lunch as we were shopping in the area. I was pleasantly surprised! The service was great. The food was delicious. I had chicken soft tacos on handmade tortillas. The rice was probably the best I've had at a restaurant and the charro beans were cooked perfectly. We also shared the queso and guacamole, both I would order again. They have a lunch menu that we ordered from. Everything is reasonably priced and overall, it was a great meal. We will be back when in the area for sure. read more

Staff and management soo friendly and great customer service. Sat at the bar and bartender's work very hard and drinks are great. Food is very good and flavorful. Food is great. The fajitas are amazing. We had the pork shank. It was tender and crispy at the same time. So much flavor. Don't miss the pozole. It was green chili and so flavorful. Whoa! Is the first word out of my mouth when it comes to the dining experience here at Muchacho. At first I was like oh this is some rando Tex-mex place here in Southlake, which will probably be meh. Holy guacamole! Was I wrong! We got in around 4:30 ish on a Friday. When there were some other customers there, by the time left (about 1.5 hrs later), the place was packed. Our server was very awesome with the menu and delivery of our fantastic dishes. I saw on the menu the Mojo Marinated Spanish octopus so I had to ask our server if she tried it. She unfortunately did not but said it was a popular dish, so of course I ordered it. My wife really enjoys Pozole Verde (soup), and she saw that you can add a steak to it. My wife wanted to have the steak separately and not in the soup, which the restaurant happily obliged. As for our meal, it was delicious! We super enjoyed the Octopus tacos/ Mojo Marinated Spanish octopus, my kiddo even ate a few octo pieces. (I will come back and order that one again.) my wife really enjoyed her soup, they did bring out the steak and it was grilled to perfection. I mean they could make a meal off of that with a bigger cut by itself and I think people would go nuts over it. We did order the flan for dessert, and my god, it was heavenly. All home made and just great. Probably best flan and homemade whip in my life. Lastly ambiance here could be set as great romantic spot, a nice family meal or just chill for a drink with some buddies, the restaurant can do it all. Overall Muchacho's will satisfy your Tex-mex/I want a great meal itch in a heartbeat, I highly recommend! read more

This IS my go-to for TexMex. Great location in Southlake. Not cheap, but what in life is cheap and stellar? Not much... LOTS and LOTS of great menu items. My fav's: The Combo Juan, the Piccadillo Taco's, the Brisket Tacos, the steak and enchilada combo. Feeling frisky? You can burn a C-note on a super-top-shelf Margarita... (No, I haven't done that yet! Would I like to? Hell YES! Just waiting for the right occasion!). The salsa's are great.... Red & Green. Lot's of great appetizers as well... Their signature item? Our first time here. Loved the decor. Chips and both green and red salsa. We were split as to which we liked best. We started with the fundido. It was good. Not great. The tortillas were very good and fresh. I had the soup and salad. The salad was very good. Fresh with toasted corn. The soup was my favorite. It was very good. Loaded with chicken and hominy. Busy busy busy!! Love it being busy and booming, great food great customer service, the shrimp fajitas were fabulous, it had the lovely char taste from the sizzling plate! Fresh tortillas! Tasty beans and rice to make your tacos! We arrived at about 5:30 PM on a Wednesday night. My husband and I enjoyed several drinks and then we were told that dinner would be a little late. We did not care as we had chips and salsa and there was nothing pressing. I loved the communication about the kitchen being a bit behind. I have been here several times and this was quite unusual. What a great place. The food was high quality and the service was bar raising. Had a great experience at muchacho's. The service was spot on Jocelyn R was tentative and had us drinks refilled before we needed them recommended the brisket tacos and wow were they good. Paul the Gm personally stopped by to chat and was interested in what our experience was like and was hernerally interested in the visit. Granted it was our first visit, I will definitely be back. We checked in on line and it was such an easy process and we were seated right on time. The atmosphere is a fun Tex-Mex feel. I ordered the Tacos with crispy Carnitas and my husband the chicken enchiladas. The food was delicious but I had a lot of fat instead of meat in my tacos. This is our 2nd time to this location. So much better than Dallas location. We live close to that one too! We go to church in Keller so we come to southlake location. The service was really good! (Photo didn't turn out) My friend had the burger & french fries so I got to try them and they were also delicious. Inside a dark and moody and cool and temperature so you can come in and get out of the heat enjoy a cocktail and a nice lunch. It's nice to not be under such bright light and crowded places. I really like the atmosphere here quiet swanky and had nice music. Friends request we shared the double eggs they were definitely something to try. And she had the chicken pot pie and said it was so delicious she licked the bowl clean.

When the server finally came by and I had a 90 percent untouched plate he didn't bother to ask if everything was okay - just said "can I take this away"? I think these are the same owners who have The Tavern and Tycoon in Flower Mound and I've never had anything but great food and service experiences at both so hopefully this was just a rare bad experience. I will stick to The Tavern and Tycoon going forward, though.

Alex asked if we had ever been to Craftway, we informed him this was our first visit. His ask "any allergies?" to which we said no. He disappeared, returning with an appetizer sampling plate with three items - the Reuben egg rolls, crab stuffed mushrooms, and blue cheese chips. All were fantastic! Three entrees ordered, the Chicken & Fig sandwich, Chicken Milanese and the Cajun pasta with Chicken. Food arrived; each entree was fantastic. Cooked to perfection, flavors were amazing. First, walking up to the restaurant you can smell how delicious your meal is about to be. Upon entering you're met with a wonderful slightly upbeat atmosphere but not in your face or too loud. It was a perfect date night setting. The service from Angel was unbeatable, he kept our waters topped off and kept the beers coming. It is obvious how much the chef cares about the quality and presentation of the food. I chose the combination fajitas, my wife chose the Camarones a la Diablo. What an absolute bomb of a meal. They use a flat steak instead of skirt steak that is more tender and beautifully prepaired. Paired with a buttery galric sauce that really changes the entire meal for the better. 10 out of 10 recommend this restaurant. Octopus tacos were wonderful - the octopus is stewed and cooked a long time, served with avocado, rice & beans. The pork shank was divine - mounds of meat torn off of the bone! Unreal portion. wonderful experience. happy hour 7 days a week 2-6. food is excellent. no seed oils! we had Monse as our bartender. she was great! excellent customer service. we will definitely be regular customers! The Sopes on happy hour menu are excellent! read more
