We went to Muchacho for the first time in June 2026, having been told about this place a while back. Sleeping on that suggestion made us feel like morons after coming here. Dakota took great care of us the minute we were seated. His attention, professionalism, and friendliness makes him stand out in the service industry. He told us before we even ordered that we would be back and that we could ask for him in the future. He was right. We will be back and we will ask for him. The food was incredible. Chips with two delicious salsas came out first. The green tomatillo salsa was our fave, but the red also delivered. We split an order of delicious empanadas for a starter. The hearty empanada shell contained a surprisingly tender picadillo enhanced by avocado and some crema. Hands down delicious. For our main, we spilt the octopus fajitas. These were extraordinary. The meat was tender and perfectly marinated, not chewy or rubbery at all. The tortillas were made in house and also not too thick or heavy. I recommend having the octopus as close to Spanish style as you can with just the grilled onions and peppers in the taco you make. No cheddar cheese or sour cream, please. The menu read like a treasure chest of Mexican food and we will be back, providing Dakota is working and able to have us over for dinner. Thank you, Muchacho for an excellent first experience.

Came here on a rainy Saturday evening and was able to find parking close by. We put our names down at 7:08 and were told a 45-minute wait, but we almost left and ended up staying, our table was ready in 8 minutes. That's a pretty big difference, and I feel like giving such a wide estimate can lose them customers. We were seated in their outdoor covered area and Dakota was our server. He was great and really made the dining experience better. He gave solid recommendations on food and timing for ordering. We started with chips and two types of salsa , classic tomato and a verde. Both were flavorful. The chips tasted fresh with big pieces, though some were saltier than others. For food, we got the classic queso to start, then cheese enchiladas with mole sauce (no onions) and chile con carne enchiladas. The mole was really flavorful, refried beans were good, and the rice was fluffy. I didn't have a drink, but the house margarita on the rocks and grapefruit margarita were both enjoyed, I tried a sip of each and they were strong. Overall, I'm glad to have found a solid Tex-Mex option in the area. Southlake Town Center is also nice to walk around before or after dinner.

We really just came here for a margarita and some nachos. What a surprise to us when the nachos were only five chips. That was sad. Margarita was good. But I was very surprised by how much they had gone up in just the last couple of years.

We had a wonderful time at Muchacho Southlake, a cozy spot inside the Town Square area. Highly suggest getting reservations; they have a limit of 6 but will make exceptions, as they did for us. A lively crowd--this wasn't a quiet spot, more a night-on-the-town vibe, plenty of folks having a good meal and time. The food was fabulous, and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service by Ryan was attentive & surprisingly quick. I had the Cornmeal Redfish tacos with the pickled slaw on homemade tortillas, all very good. Others had pork shank, fajitas, chili relleno with rice and beans, and they all loved it. The standouts were the Mexican rice and Old Fashioned; both were as good as I've had anywhere. The rice, just like Abuela would serve you. After the meal, Paul the owner came and checked on us. Really nice touch to finish off the night. We passed on dessert, a group choice, certainly not mine.

Food is always good, I typically order fajitas or mole enchiladas. I also highly recommend their green pozole. Recently tried their shrimp tacos, and they were okay but I prefer their steak fajitas and tacos. I was also not a fan of their brisket sopes, a bit too much masa for my preference. My sister has a food allergy and every server we've had is always super accommodating and takes time to ask kitchen staff about any dish she's interested in having. The atmosphere is noisy, but in a nice way. Super chatty and good music. We come a few times a month and we're never disappointed!

We tried Muchacho's tonight and it was really good! The wait to get in was about 45 minutes, but it was definitely worth it. I had the Ahi Tuna Taquitos and these things were small but mighty! They were seriously the tiniest little tacos, but they delicious. I would absolutely order them again as my meal because they were that good. The sauce that came with them was amazing and really tied everything together. My husband ordered the Suadero tacos and they were delicious too. The flour tortillas were on point, the brisket was cooked perfectly, and everything inside worked really well together. The borracho beans on the side were also great. We lucked out with a beautiful Texas spring evening and got seats on the patio, which we really enjoyed. It's a cute patio with super comfortable chairs, and it's a great spot to watch the passerby's. Service started a little slow, but once we ordered the food came out quickly and everything tasted so delicious. Another Saturday night trying somewhere new and this is definitely one we'll go back to!

Service attentive but not overbearing, atmosphere, location, and ambiance is totally Texan and modern at the same time. Restaurant is a corner piece in a trendy snd upscale shopping center in Southlake Texas. They have a lovely patio when the whether is nice enough to open it up too. Try a spicy margarita or a cold beer. If your a wine lover they dont leave you out either. I suggest the pork belly fajitas or the shrimp tacos, but any protein and meat from Muchachos is grilled well and flavorful while letting the meat taste shine through. Do NOT LEAVE without their famous Tres Leches cake. Trust me. You will NOT be sorry. With lots of options in Southlake, Muchachos is a staple and local favorite for intimate dinners or large parties.

Wife and myself came here on a Sunday to meet up with my son and his gf. Got the table no problem to try out their lunch. The 2 things I have to say is their location is perfect in the middle of southlake. But hard to find parking on street, but garage is only a block away. And their service by our waitress was one of the best in some time. As far as food goes, the prices is a tad higher than average Mexican restaurant we've had, so I automatically had a higher expectation. There's really nothing bad on any of the food, other than the portion and lack of anything distinctive to say I can't wait to come back again. We've all ordered something different, but I got the combination to try out different things. The beans weren't bad, but the rice was dried and bland. Other enchiladas and others were just ok. Again, the service by out waitress is very professional, and the manager also walked around to greet each table, which was a nice touch. But even with the great location (used to be snuffer) and service, 3 stars is about the max I can described this experience.

Muchacho is our favorite place. Best margs, food, service, and environment. We went on a Friday night to celebrate my birthday and it was packed! You definitely need a reservation for busy days/times and you'll have no problem. We ordered our drinks and I'm not kidding they were at our table 3 minutes later. Steak and shrimp fajitas are 10/10. Our server was great and attentive! To top it all off they gave me a signed birthday card from the staff and flan. I would always recommend Muchachos!!!

I had the Chicken Mole Poblano Enchiladas as my entree and the Como La Flor as my vice for the night. The drink was delicious and not too strong, perfect for my night. The enchiladas were alright, not my absolute favorite. Maybe I haven't had true mole before, but it was sweeter than what I've had in the past. As for the service, our waitress was super accommodating and timely. She addressed everything we asked for, including extra things like grilled jalapenos. Great from start to finish. We were sat quickly and greeted by our waiter. It was 6:02 and he gave us happy hour pricing on our drinks, the chips and salsa were great. I held myself back from eating the bowl. Brisket tacos were delicious. They were filled full of brisket. The salsa on the side is tasty but watch out for the spice. Really cute inside. This location is really nice and a great vibe and feel, catered to families and travels and business people alike. Drinks looked good but we didn't order any, but our food was very good along with the chips and guacamole. I had the brisket tacos with corn tortillas and it was very tender and juicy, the rice was delicious and the beans were tasty. I ordered guacamole too for my tacos but it was probably not necessary as they put an avocado slice on each taco. We came for happy hour and asked to sit at a booth in the bar and the hostess told us we had a 1 and half hour time limit. Not sure why they would limit how long a patron could be there. Besides that the food and service is pretty good and consistent with this being our 3rd time. The margs are small and pricey for $17 each but taste good so be prepared to splurge. The happy hour prices are much better and is Monday-Sunday 2-6. read more

The tortilla chips were good, but the salsas were okay compared to other Tex-Mex spots in Dallas. Same goes for the enchiladas, thought they were okay. The ambiance of the place was nice, lots of families and people. There was a short wait time to be seated. There is outdoor and indoor seating. Stopped in for a last mixture dinner. The menu to me doesn't have a ton of options but sometimes simple is better. The empanadas were so good I almost ordered a second batch. Honestly all the food was good even the salads and queso.The drinks though not pictured were excellent. Service was great and it's not super big in the inside. Met our family here for dinner to celebrate my birthday last night. Reservations are offered so we made one. The food was great, everyone enjoyed their menu selections. Unfortunate turn of events with a thunderstorm and getting stuck in Dallas for the night turned into finding a great spot. Checked into the Westin Southlake and discovered the Southlake Town Center across the freeway, short shuttle ride over and landed at Muchacho. Eased up the bar and immediately greeted by friendly bar staff. In classic recon fashion I had already eyed the menu before leaving the hotel room, and decided it was going to be fajitas! I asked for chips and salsa, got both red and green. These were not your ordinary "out of the jar" salsas, both were really good with some decent heat. 9/10 for the chips and salsa alone. Now I go to order my fajitas and as always I ask for medium rare on the meat temp. Typically with most places the steak used in fajitas leaves little room for a proper med-rare cook, but here at Muchaho it's more like a 1/2" thick flank steak cooked and sliced. The cook was PERFECT, exact temp I like with good seasoning and char on the outside. The shrimp were no slouches, large, well seasoned and cooked as well. Tortillas you say, ready for another treat. They are fresh hand made to order flour, just how i love them. Super fresh, hot, and soft! Overall, highly recommend if you are a single and just sitting at the bar, will definitely return if in the Southlake area again in the future! read more

We always have so much fun coming here and they're happy hour is off the charts good. We're lucky enough to occasionally have Angel as our server and he is truly an angel. Paul, the general manager always sees to it that everybody is completely taken care of and the place operates like a fine tuned Swiss watch made in Mexico. read more

So, we recently went to @Muchacho's in Southlake. We received several request for feedback. So, I replied we did not enjoy our visit because there wasn't a kids meal. The meal we ordered for Ayden (quesadillas) were plopped on top of beans. I love beans but a 4yr old isn't the biggest fan. This was their rude ass reply. I think the people should know: I also want to point out- this was a survey they sent me multiple times. They had to go out of the way to email me Hello, I read your review of Muchacho Tex Mex in Southlake, and honestly, it's one of the most ridiculous takes I've seen. Complaining about a Mexican restaurant serving beans? That's like being upset about pasta at an Italian place. And as for the lack of a kids' menu--if that's a dealbreaker for you, maybe stick to Chuck E. Cheese. Muchacho Tex Mex isn't trying to cater to everyone, and that's fine. We came here on a whim for lunch as we were shopping in the area. I was pleasantly surprised! The service was great. The food was delicious. I had chicken soft tacos on handmade tortillas. The rice was probably the best I've had at a restaurant and the charro beans were cooked perfectly. We also shared the queso and guacamole, both I would order again. They have a lunch menu that we ordered from. Everything is reasonably priced and overall, it was a great meal. We will be back when in the area for sure. read more

When the server finally came by and I had a 90 percent untouched plate he didn't bother to ask if everything was okay - just said "can I take this away"? I think these are the same owners who have The Tavern and Tycoon in Flower Mound and I've never had anything but great food and service experiences at both so hopefully this was just a rare bad experience. I will stick to The Tavern and Tycoon going forward, though.

Returning to take drink orders, a margarita was ordered as was a glass of Kim Crawford Sauvignon Blanc. Drinks were quickly served. Water was never allowed to become empty. Alex asked if we had ever been to Craftway, we informed him this was our first visit. His ask "any allergies?" to which we said no. He disappeared, returning with an appetizer sampling plate with three items - the Reuben egg rolls, crab stuffed mushrooms, and blue cheese chips. All were fantastic! Three entrees ordered, the Chicken & Fig sandwich, Chicken Milanese and the Cajun pasta with Chicken. Food arrived; each entree was fantastic. Cooked to perfection, flavors were amazing. First, walking up to the restaurant you can smell how delicious your meal is about to be. Upon entering you're met with a wonderful slightly upbeat atmosphere but not in your face or too loud. It was a perfect date night setting. The service from Angel was unbeatable, he kept our waters topped off and kept the beers coming. It is obvious how much the chef cares about the quality and presentation of the food. I chose the combination fajitas, my wife chose the Camarones a la Diablo. What an absolute bomb of a meal. They use a flat steak instead of skirt steak that is more tender and beautifully prepaired. Paired with a buttery galric sauce that really changes the entire meal for the better. 10 out of 10 recommend this restaurant. The GM Paul was wonderfu, checking on every table and helping when needed. We will recommend this place to everyone we know and will be back when ever possible! read more

When he brought out her cake, he sang a solo birthday song just for her -- it was such a sweet, personal touch that made the moment unforgettable. We love coming to Muchachos, it is one of the few restaurants that is very accommodating to dairy and soy free diets. Dakota is very attentive and always greets us with a smile. First time in, it was absolutely amazing. The flavor of very dish was incredible! Jovanna and Paul were incredible hosts. My daughter and my son-in-law moved here a year ago and we are visiting from Oregon. This will definitely be one of the main food stops every time come to Southlake. read more

From the moment you walk in you are greeted by the friendliest staff. The atmosphere and the food are Amazing. Suadero Tacos are to die for and Becks was a phenomenal server! And the GM, Paul, personally checked on us more the once. I definitely recommend this restaurant! read more

Muchacho is our favorite restaurant for Mexican/Tex Mex food in the DFW metroplex. Service is always wonderful and Jennifer was great tonight. Food is fantastic. Honestly, we've yet to be disappointed. BTW, the Southlake location is hands down, the BEST.! read more

wonderful experience. happy hour 7 days a week 2-6. food is excellent. no seed oils! we had Monse as our bartender. she was great! excellent customer service. we will definitely be regular customers! The Sopes on happy hour menu are excellent! read more
