I've been hearing about this place. Really good, authentic, Mexican food in Redding is sometimes hard to find. This place has been getting consistent five star reviews and so I had to try it today. While I was conflicted on what to order, I decided the nachos with everything. I'm a finger food kind of person. Or at least I can be. When I first open the box, I was confused. It just looked like chips and meat and cheese. I had ordered everything so I knew they either messed up or it was hidden. Upon digging with my fort, I realized everything was there: guacamole and pico de gallo. They were just under the cheese and meat which I'm not used to. I initially thought this might be a concern because I like the hot nachos with the warm meat and cheese with the cool pico de gallo and guacamole on top, but it wasn't after I tasted it. I have tried every Mexican food place in Redding, California, and unfortunately, I became extremely sick from this place. I'm not sure if it was the ground beef tacos or the fish tacos, but the manager on duty and the owner he transferred me to seemed to be quite scared to tell the truth. Over the last few months this has become my favorite Mexican restaurant. I've never actually been to the store physically, I just order Door Dash. But literally everything is a hit! The beef enchiladas have a slight kick, the crunch chicken taco is the bomb, their fish taco is amazing, and my kids both love the carne asada street taco. My favorite sauce is the green sauce, its so flavorful. Im usually a red sauce kind of person, but for the first time in my life I'm all in on the green sauce. read more

Stunned! I couldn't believe how HUGE the portions were! The burrito and chimichanga was packed so full of meat which was a nice change from most restaurants that are all rice and beans. Flavorful and filling. Everything cost about $55 with three large drinks also. Only thing I would complain about is the plates and plastic ware. They are very flimsy for the amount of food that is served. Indoor dining would really benefit from sturdy plates and silverware. First timer! Definitely worth the hype. I now have two places in town that i trust for my authentic and delicious Mexican food. The prices were fair. Only had the street tacos and Taquito's Husband had the a beef burrito with just beans and cheese: They listened to my order and prepared it correctly, but my Husband said it's the best Burritos he's ever had, My Tacos and Taquitos were done perfectly and are addicting. Will definitely eat there again ( and soon ) For Redding OG's It's on Lake Blvd in the old Arby's building in the Raleys shopping center. There is another Mexican food place next to the grocery store, that's a different place all together. Mucha's is across from the Gas Station right as you enter ! This was our first visit with the restaurant, first impression, looks clean, just smelled a little musty, we were greeted promptly and nicely, there are two menu boards easily read. Our cashier was friendly and polite, military discount , she made sure I knew the charges accurately. Our order took less than five minutes to be ready, four or five different salsa options was nice. The employees are great! But the food is not so good, to me at least. Was told their breakfast burritos are good. My first item was a chimmichonga that dripped juices from the tomatoes and bell peppers. Then nachos that were chips with sour cream and cold pre shredded cheese. Then a Mexican sandwich. The bread was enormous, and sprinkled with flavorless dry, dry diced meat. I took them home and used the items to make something else. Who serves burritos with just meat in it. So weird. And I'm a simple girl, I don't like a ton of different items in it, but I certainly don't want a big block of dry chicken meat. So of course it's just near impossible to eat, being full of just dry meat. Baffling. We also ordered chicken soft tacos, which were just eh. There just isn't any flavor for the chicken. And it's unfortunately very dry. The hot sauce was ok. Come to find out this new location is actually their second. :0 Must be their other menu items are very good, because in my opinion, those burritos need a total rework. We have been a fan for a while but something seems to have changed the last few times we've ordered. The prices keep going up and now the quality and quantity seem to be decreasing. Each time the last three or four times we've ordered the prices have gone up each time. Just leaving this review as we hope it will make a difference. Even the to go containers are different each time and seem smaller: we get it, cost is important but quality is too. This has been a favorite Mexican restaurant in Redding and our other favorite is in Red Bluff. We were so glad to find this place but things have been changing here lately and it's not as consistent as it used to be. Service was good, staff was friendly. The price for the amount of food we got was fair. The restaurant was clean. However, where they failed was the food. It was bland, my wife ordered 2 shredded beef tacos and a majority of the meat was crunchy, she could eat the 2nd taco. I had the fish tacos, they were basically frozen breaded fish patties that had been deep fried and they used mayonnaise for the sauce, not a mayonnaise based sauce, just straight mayonnaise. Ordered nachos with carne asada absolutely the worst nachos I've ever had in my life it was part carne asada and part ground beef there was literally nothing else on it not sour cream a sprinkle of cheese was on there unmelted. My friend ordered a combination plate the burrito was an edible how do you even mess up both of those things. Then to top it off when I called the lady said well we have really good reviews I mean come on who says that at least apologize I didn't want my money back I just wanted them to apologize and maybe do better next time don't go there gross gross and more gross although the two gentlemen that were at the window were very very nice humans so that was much appreciated! If you enjoy GREAT Mexican food, this should be your place to go. It's a new start up and I hope they thrive. Serving size is large, so go there hungry, this was our first time eating there. As I looked around, I noticed that there were Mexican families eating there, that's a good sign in a Mexican restaurant.
