Another great Build By Gary and the team This is the best shop in the world hands Down !!!
    Terry L.

Gary and the Team Run the best custom shop for 4x4 guys in the world !!!!!!

I have a 1973 Toyota FJ40 that my kids are learning to use. The steering was a big problem for them because there's no power steering. I contacted Gary at Mudrak as he has done work for me in the past. He told me he can fix this and set me up with an appointment. The work did not take long and the price was great. Once I got it back it was like night and day. The Fj40 is like a brand new jeep now. The steering is crisp and clean. I would highly recommend Gary and Mudrak for all your Landcruiser needs.

If you own, drive and off road a Toyota Land Cruiser you will not find a more knowledgeable master mechanic guru for these 4x4s anywhere in the Bay Area. If you're like me and have an unusual turbo diesel powered Land Cruiser you are just plain lucky to have anyone even know how to work on these things in the Bay Area. In 2007 I had the misfortune of trusting a "well regarded" FJ40 builder in Canada to make me one to order. It was to be a "turn key" rig that I could trust to get me to and back from Tierra del Fuego and was promised to me from this builder as being as such. What I received (and far past the original agreed upon delivery date) was far from complete or reliable. Since delivery on Oct 2009, my Land Cruiser has gone thru a series of visits to MUDRAK for the proper attention, repair, upgrades, and overhauls it needed to get it where it needed to be and should have been in the first place. My Land Cruiser is now reliable, improved and fun to drive on and off road. Gary is a wizard with a Land Cruiser. Look no further than MUDRAK. As the numerous vinyl bumper stickers attest to on the customers' rigs at his shop, "MUDRAK Improved", is exactly that.

Gary, Jacki, and the crew were great to work with. Honest people who took care of some upgrades to my LR4. Really happy with the results and hopefully one day I'll be back for a custom FJ.

Tried to buy a rooftop tent here and the service was a little bit slower than I'm accustomed to but it may just be really busy at this time.

Eddy is also very knowledgeable, as you'd hope a guy who runs any kind of auto shop would be, and offered multiple solutions to me. I have owned several cars with prior paintwork, and not a single one of them ever stopped bugging me, and not a single other person in my life ever even noticed. So, that's me. Let's talk about Eddie's Paint Works: I absolutely cannot recommend Eddie and the team here highly enough. They repaired my wife's Ford Mustang Mach-E (got hit on the passenger's door) with a warm pearl white paint color - not an easy color to nail. I absolutely, positively, CANNOT tell that the car was ever hit, nor that it was partially repainted and blended. It's incredible. I'm simply blown away in a way that's hard to put into words - I went 38 years of life thinking that no paint repair could ever be undetectable, and here I am, proven wrong. In addition to incredible artisan-quality paintwork, Eddie used new parts directly from Ford for the repair and even took the car to a Ford dealer to make sure all the safety sensors were properly recalibrated. Eddie is a true "car guy" and I found this shop by looking for shops that people trusted with their true pride and joy - sports cars, hot rods, etc. Trust those people. This was my first time dealing with an insurance claim and Eddie was incredibly helpful in educating me about the process and providing me with some advice and guidance. He worked seamlessly with my insurance and it was overall just a totally painless process. In CA, YOU have the right to choose what shop to get your car repaired at - your insurance can't tell you where to go. Do yourself a favor and go to Eddie! I hope I don't get in an accident anytime soon, but if I do, at least now I know I can go to Eddie and everything will turn out perfectly. I'll never look for another auto body shop as long as I live here and as long as Eddie is around.

It seems like it can be good in the right circumstance, but it's worth being a bit careful about it. A friend highly recommended the advisor, saying that they'd saved her a lot of money on her car lease and made the process easy for her. I called and talked for over an hour to the advisor. They were knowledgable and friendly - great customer service. I figured that I may be able to save a little money by looking for a deal myself, but that I wanted to save the time and hassle, so the cost would be worth it. Also, I liked the idea that Cartelligent had access to better deals than I would by purchasing at volume from fleet managers. My plan was to lightly get offer prices myself, compare them to the price Cartelligent got, and then hopefully having validated that they were beating my price sufficiently, I could use them forever and rest assured that it was a worthwhile deal. I reached out to a few dealerships and got opening offers. I was shocked when my Cartelligent advisor came back with an initial price that was worse than three of the five dealerships I'd reached out to, and that was before their $600 fee. When I explained this, they responded a little defensively and asked for proof I had better deals. When I provided it, they came back the next day with an offer $50 a month cheaper than the one they first sent me - a cost difference of $1,800 over the course of the lease! Thank goodness I'd looked on my own and not taken their word for it. The experience shook my faith a bit, so I decided to negotiate with the other dealerships myself and compare. Once I got a bit further into the process, I gave Cartelligent the ability to win my business if they could get to a specific number by dropping their quote a little further. They were unable to do so, so I kept negotiations up elsewhere. Specifically, when I asked if they could get to that number, the whole email they wrote back was "That's awesome. That's a great deal" and that was the last I ever heard from them. With a little bit of work, I ultimately was able to secure a lower price than Cartelligent had before taking their $600 fee into account. Using Cartelligent would have cost me many hundreds of dollars more than negotiating on my own over the course of my lease. At the same time, I was trying to sell my car through them. I did their thorough online process, taking pictures and filling out the form. After it was clear I was going to negotiate a bit and not just take their first price, I stopped hearing about the sale process from the advisor. After the "That's awesome" email, I never heard back from them again, even after asking for updates on the sales process over email. They ultimately never gave me a quote on my car. I think they got mad at me and ghosted me, which I found surprising and unprofessional. It's possible I was able to get an unusually good deal because the EV market is weak right now. The second quote - the one $50 lower - was reasonable, and it did take me a little work to beat it. However, it was clear to me that you should always do your own due diligence and get quotes to check the ones they give you. If you do that, ultimately, you aren't really saving yourself that much work, so I'm not sure the $600 fee is worth it. Edit: David reached out, and we talked about my experience. He sounded as surprised as I was by my experience, and he's looking into it. I was impressed that he would follow up!
