Sat at the bar last night apparently in our "invisible suits". Ordered shepherds pie, disgusting. Horrible service from both bartenders. Really too bad. Left a 10% tip and felt that was generous based on our experience. Too bad for them, I have always been an EXCELLENT tipper. read more

Mulligan's is the best bar in the world!!! I have been a regular there for alomst 3 years now and will continue to be no matter where in NY I live...Morris and Allen are the most amazing bartenders you will come across! Not only dothey make the perfect drinks but they are super sweet and friendly and make you feel very welcome. They also have an amazing jukebox that I am totally hooked on, and known to hog all night lol. We have a company get-together here every year during a convention -- usually around 40 people -- and we keep returning because of the relaxed atmosphere and great service. The last two years in a row Michelle has been our server, somehow managing to handle our entire group, drinks, food orders, and many separate checks without ever getting flustered. Mulligan's may be fine for grabbing a beer but I wouldn't go grabbing a menu because the food is...how do you say...not good (though the staff is really nice). It's just a mediocre, unremarkable place where most people seem to go out of convenience. There are a number of better pubs within walking distance of this establishment so I'd spend my money elsewhere. read more

Buffalo wings, other standard stuff is tasty. Fries aren't worth it. Went for a late lunch and the place was relatively quite, that said the wait service wasn't very attentive, but at least friendly and professional. Good sized drinks, didn't charge for refills (at least that time). read more

Stopped in for a quick bite to eat and drink. Server was miserable! Waited 25 minutes for three appetizers. One was French onion soup which was essentially a blob of cheese on tepid broth. The Irish Nachos and quisedilla were good though. read more

I stopped on for a beer and bite to eat with my husband after the lunch hour. He ordered a turkey wrap and I ordered a steak salad. When I received my plate, it had an unfresh smell to it- like meat that's been in the fridge for a week. The salad looked fresh enough and the steak was seasoned and tasted ok. Just had an event here recently that I set up with Paul. He made everything so easy- we didn't have to guarantee a headcount, just had to give an approximate number of guests so they could staff the correct number of bartenders that night. I thought we would just have our friends show up and hang out in the back room. Instead, we had bartenders looking out for us when we showed up, ready to provide drinks and a fun time. There were also staff members walking through periodically to check on us and supply us with anything we needed. They even roped off the room for us which we didn't ask for- it was so nice! I was blown away- they did not have to do anything special for us but treated us like VIPs. I will definitely set up other events here since it was so refreshingly easy to do, unlike so many other venues that try to charge you for everything and stress you out! Thanks, Paul! read more

Visited NYC and ate here after a show as it was close to the hotel. Ordered burger, fries, pulled pork sandwich, Cobb salad , and shepherds pie. It was all very good, a bit pricey, but that's to be expected in midtown. Service was good too. We ended up getting it to go when one of our family members suddenly got a migraine headache as we were seated. The server was attentive and understanding, and when we got back to the hotel with our food the order was correct. read more

I just came back from having lunch there today ( 2/6/2013) I left about half hour ago, and I left the place so angry because of the BARTENDER! My husband and I only went in for a bowl of soup each and a drink, and sat at the bar. I don't think I have ever come across a bartender to be so rude and ignorant.(He was tall with fair hair) When we asked for another drink, he ignored us and walk on. 3 times we had to ask, and he grunted at us. We had our soup and asked for the bill. He slapped it down on the counter in front of us. I'm a person who has to leave a tip no matter what, but if I knew what he was going to do next I would never have left one. I left the money on the counter (WITH TIP) and he again smacked his hand down and took it, while another customer was asking for a drink, he shouted at him "I'M BUSY" and walked away. This pub is suppose to be Irish (I,m Irish) and if this is the staff they are hiring, I,m ashamed. I just seen other people's comment regarding the bartender there, and the owner needs a SERIOUS wake up call to FIRE this person. At the end of the day, we all have a job to do, but do not act like this especially when you are working with the public in a PUBLIC HOUSE. Get it right! read more
