As some one who spent 20+ years in Mumbai, I can say this is authentic Mumbai style food. We ordered Vadapav, kolambi masala, Dabeli, Frankie and Paneer tikka Biryani. Service is fast. Staff is courteous. Paneer tikka biryani is bit on the spicier side. In Bay Area, biryani= white rice on top of paneer or chicken in almost all places. Not the case here. Lamb Biryani - more like "medium" spicy - a little bit too spicy but still do-able. Yelped a near by restaurant and this place came up as a top search; decided to check it out. I've been to a few different Indian restaurants but I have to say, this place is authentic. I really like the food there. Almost all items are good. So I keep ordering from them. Menu is well designed with different types of food. I should tell that the ordering system is completely screwed up. Once I ordered a vegetable Biriyani for a party for my vegetarian friends. When someone found that it was chicken Biriyani when they took it in their plate , I was really embarrassed. I complained in hopes that I could help them. And I talked to the owner a second time to report the mishap. But they truly believe that it was me who made the mistake. It is time they give some training to person at front desk or get a better one! If you are ordering (especially for big party) , make sure they read back all the orders after writing it down. I wanted to try misal pac but was already full with other items. The best part about all the food items: Authentic taste and they are exactly what you get in at street side vendor in Mumbai. In terms of customer service this place is by far one of the best that I have experienced. The owners/servers were very kind. They were always checking up on how we were doing (but didnt get annoying), reminded me about free refills on my chai tea, had good recommendations especially for my friend's trying Indian food for the first time. They also gave us the 15% off our bill without anyone of us reminding them. The place is clean, has lots of space, and is very welcoming. The owner told me that they have only been open for 5 months but I hope they get more business so they can stay. This is one of the best out there. Not only the service but the food too. The food, was surprising, being both of us are very picky eaters everything we decided to order was delicious!
