This family owned new Indian restaurant in Nyack just opened today. I highly recommend the bhindi masala, chicken tikka and garlic nan. I visited Mumbai Dreams for curbside pickup. My food was ready when I arrived and I had no wait time; the owner was very friendly. Everything in our order was perfect. My husband and I shared the Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken. We also had the Garlic Naan, Mango Lassi and Gulab Jamun for dessert. We loved everything.The dishes were perfect - not too spicy (though you can ask them to make it spicy if you want - I asked for mild) and definitely had a lot of flavor. I've ordered from here more than five times in the last year and I absolutely love the food every time. I have been to most of the Indian restaurants in Rockland and Mumbai Dreams has just a little more to offer than the others. It's a bit more expensive as a result, but I have never been less than thrilled with every item I've ever tried (and believe me, I force myself to try something new every time, because I'd get the same exact thing over and over. It's that good). Service is prompt, the packaging on the takeout is well done, the sauces are delicious, and the food is to die for. It's my favorite restaurant in all of New York. read more

Even NYC doesn't charge as much for 3 tacos as much as they do here (and I'm the kind of guy who drives 40 minutes to NYC, pays toll and parking just for tacos, so I have pretty high expectations when someone is charging me $13 for it). Ordered the fish tacos, which were pretty small but tasted ok. The menu says the tacos are made on naan but in my opinion tasted more like a chapati or roti. The minced lamb burger was ok as well. Haven't tried the rest of the menu but will try for sure and update the review accordingly. Mainly gave it three stars for the price and the cost to taste/portion ratio was not proportional. Hopefully the entrees will be better when I try them. read more

Stumbled upon this place while visiting the Mall as we wanted some good eats plus it was 5 mins away. Indian food is always a hit and miss and I'm glad we hit a homerun with this place. This is not the usual run of the mill Indian food. This is truly a few steps above the rest, actually a few miles ahead of the rest. The food is outstanding, it's so flavorful and presented very well. The staff gets 10 stars as they are friendly, welcoming and on point. This was an excellent meal from beginning to end. When you enter-you know that there is some great home cooking going on. The smell from the kitchen-fills the entire restaurant and is so fragrant it warms the senses. The service is friendly, helpful and prompt. The food was authentic and very fresh and so good. Been her five times now. Twice since outdoor opened and I'm still on the fence. Last evening food was all very good when we finally got it and after a beginning misfire of cold food after an hours wait. The restaurant seems a bit like amateur hour. There is no real sense that they have things under control. We were told our dumplings were frozen and probably got taken out of the microwave too soon. This is something people dining in a restaurant should NEVER be told. When our entrees came one of the items we asked for was forgotten. We were given "extras" to make up for the issues we had, but the sense of unhappiness had already set in. My prior trip was a stop in for lunch and everything was very good. The inconsistency is troubling, even in one of the dishes I ordered both times the stuffed paratha with aloo that was delicious at lunch and flat and undelicous(not a real word) at dinner. I hope they get there service(more kitchen than floor) under control as they could be a good or better than good place. read more

I have to say I am generally not a fan of Indian food it's not something I seek out or care to try having said that I was asked to try this restaurant because the person I was with wanted to be adventurous and expand their palate. So first thing you benefit from having a reservation. They graciously accommodated two people on a Saturday night at prime dinner hour but we were also lucky. Second they will tell you that food is prepared fresh and it could take an extended amount of time but fear not it's worth the wait and it's reasonable. We started with the pani puri and it was delicious. I'm not a vegetable person by any means but the spices they use totally mask any of the dreaded vegetables in there. It came with two sauces that I can't properly pronounce the name but they were red and green. The red had a jelly taste to me but it was really tasty to dip and the green was just as good honestly I went back and forth between the two. Not being educated on Indian cuisine we asked several of the servers questions and each we happy to share their culture with us ( it's a family own restaurant with family recipes). We landed on the chicken tikka masala and malai tikka chicken. The tikka Masala is great way to dip into the cuisine without being overwhelmed by the complex flavors. Think tomato sauce with a pinch of heat. My dish was the malai tikka which is yogurt based with a cashew paste. It says there is ginger in it but I didn't find it overwhelming it blended nicely. All in all the food was out of this world and I'd definitely go back again with a reservation of course . read more

The best Indian Cuisine I have ever tried- Been to some of the top rated places in NYC and throughout the tri -state area Came here for the 8th time( since recommended in Late April) for my birthday dinner and once again I was in food heaven. If you are not a fan of cauliflower I DD you to try Gobi Manchurian - sweet chili and garlic. Best cauliflower dish i have ever eaten I also suggest the Channa Masala which is out of this world, perfect combination of spices with a slight kick I love the Mumbai Dreams curry with Mahi Mahi. Their curry is off the charts and original. I order my dishes mild and they are always full of robust flavor. Last night I had the Mumbai Dreams Mix Platter a Plethora of taste delicately prepared. The Papdi Chat is a must as is the Dahi Puri, which explodes with flavor as it melts in your mouth So if you are a vegetarian, pescatarian or carnivore and foodie Mumbai Dreams is a MUST. Staff and owner are very attentive to the needs of their customers. They take their time to individually prepare each dish- family recipes . BTW the absolute best Samosas out there Lunch menu is extensive and Delightful!!! So be Kind to the palate and try this spot!! read more
