This place is exactly what you would picture. I went there with the kiddos and the staff was so nice and patient while my kids analyzed the entire chalkboard. I had a busy 4th of July weekend in Boston and stopped in a decent italian spot on Charles street. While it was contemporary, my girlfriend and I craved that old mom and pop restaurant. We found Mumma Mary's in a tour guide while in Boston. It happened to be in Wareham where I was born. So on our way back home we stopped by. Glad that we did. I had the Ralphie (meatball and sausage sub with mozzarella and romano). Let me tell you something. You know a meatball is real when they aren't perfectly round like they were produced by a machine. It was tender and oblong like they took their time to properly prepare it then cook it on all sides. My girlfriend's lasagna dissolved in her mouth. I can't believe that anyone would think that Mumma's sauce (gravy) is anything but homemade! It was delicious and you could tell it was made with love and pride. We talked with Mumma Mary herself who was very upset that anyone would think otherwise. This family run business is well worth a trip to Wareham. (we came from Brockton) The Italian Grinder was very yummy with nice meats, veggies, and such a great crusty baked in the oven roll. Their beef minestrone soup with pasta was also a hit. This place was really really really good. Wasn't the best food I ever ate but for the price point I ate like a king with three people for $34. All the food was good and it was unique which is a key criteria for me when checking out new and different places. I feel like you can get Italian food a lot of different places but not sandwiches and plates for the cheap With counter service. Counter help is very helpful and nice. read more

Love the old school atmosphere. Thought I was on Salem street in the North End. Staff is friendly and welcoming. I had Mummas Homemade Meatball & Dumpling Soup and the Open Faced Italian meatloaf sandwich. The soup had great flavor and hit the spot! The sandwich was definitely filling to say the least. The meatloaf was seasoned perfect and was nice and soft to compliment the crunchy fresh bread. You could tell it was just made and not heated up. This place is great! I have been to Mummas now 3 or 4 times. I have tried multiple items off the menu, and I can truly say that the food here is nothing short of fantastic. I am a huge fan of the home cooked meal, and Mummas food reminds me of home. If the portions of the meals themselves are not enough to make you come back, then the prices should be. Her antipasto salad is one of the best I've had in a while. I am not a huge fan of eggplant in any form but her eggplant parm sandwich kept me taking bite after bite. A friend brought Mamma Marys to a party we were at. The food was fabulous so I made the trip (a few towns) over to pick up dinner. Can honestly say I was not disappointed. We desperately needed a good bakery in the area and this is it! The cannoli and the lobster tails are my favorite - the ricotta cream is SOO good! Flaky, creamy and delicious! Mumma Mary's, what can one say. LOTS and all positive. Walk in and the smells of hoe cooking wharfs their way to your senses! Sparkling clean! Yes, totally clean! Friendly, accommodating, ,all are adjectives of the experience. I have been wanting to try the hidden gem for a few months, but the hours were too restrictive for me to make it. So this rainy Saturday we made the 15 mile trek. We walked in and were greeted by a couple of the most friendliest people on earth! No pressure to order, just take it all in. I decided to have the lasagna with a sausage and the bride the stuffed shells with a meatball.(when it arrived, I do believe t was close to 6 ounces and was laced with chunks of garlic), We both had the Italian style stuffed quahog. The quahog arrived on a plate, as we were told that the restaurant was unable to get any shells to stuff, that IS a problem this time of year, so a generous portion was placed on a plate and served piping hot. There were more quahogs on this serving than anyplace ever! It was a hit! Our main entrees arrived and were picture perfect and Again the senses went wild taking in the smells of garlic, sauce and cheeses. MAMMA MIA! We were going to be spending the night on our boat, so we also got an Italian Sub along with a chicken parm sub for later and a piece of turtle cheesecake. Later on the Italian sub was heavenly. We spoke to the friendly staff at length and learned that a Beer and Wine license was applied for.if you haven't placed this super small cafe on your list to try do it now! You would think that YOUR grandmother was in the back cooking. I have given very few restaurants 5 stars, and even less the courtesy of a same day YELP review, but this place reserved and got both. This was our second take out of which the first was Great !! Veal & Chicken Parm..for 20.. so we ordered the Meatball & Sausage for 10.. We noticed that our dish had been hardly touched .. my wife over heard the following comments ..the Meatball's & Sausage were very bland,no taste... but the tomato sauce was very pasty, bland and acid taste !! then to our dismay the dish was remover form the presentation table.. how do you end this review.. may be everything has been said.. take this review to improve things and help others have a better experience then we had .. hopefully this was a fluke !!! read more

Excellect, fantastic, delicious don't do justice to the food. My family has tried the meat lasagna, Italian meatloaf and sausage cacciatore all outstanding!!!
