Taking a trip to the area for work, or on the way back from the Berkshires, I try to stop by Munich Haus. I first came here years ago when I wanted needed somewhere interesting for dinner after a work trip. With Boston having a dearth of German restaurants (or New England in general), you might have to find the best German food in the state in this area (I should try Student Prince sometime). I typically get the Bavarian platter or the Jager Schnitzel. The platter is traditional German food's greatest hits. The various sausages are flavorful and have a nice bite. The schnitzels are fried nicely and definitely recommended. The mushroom sauce with the Jager schnitzel is savory and rich. The beef goulash is hearty with a zesty tomato flavor. Really nice touch that homemade potato chips come included with meals. The portions for everything are rather large and prices here are quite good, especially in comparison with Boston prices. Service is generally attentive and polite. During the Christmas season, the restaurant is decorated appropriately for the time.

Seems the service has fallen off at this spot. The last two times we've came it hasn't been the same it was in the past. Service is slow, and the aim to cram as many people in the place as they can. I shouldn't be touching people at other tables when sitting at my table, should I? This last time we were sat in a room where a party was taking place, 40 lid and obnoxious people there for some event. Hardly an enjoyable meal. I think we will go back to Student Prince, a much better experience.

We recently had lunch at Munich Haus while passing through the area. Great service. They served fresh chips and onion dip after we were seated. One of my sons ordered a chicken schnitzel (wiener style) with spaetzle. My other son ordered a giant pretzel, nurnberger sausages, and a bottle of rootbeer. I ordered a chicken schnitzel (with jager sauce on the side), roasted vegetables, and mashed potatoes. All was fantastic.

Super fresh German beer and delicious chips & dip

Having grown up on German fare, it makes me sad that we have none near our home, a couple hours from here. So, whenever we find ourselves out in this area, we try to stop for a delicious Bavarian meal. We were promptly greeted & seated by friendly staff dressed in traditional drindl dresses. The decor here feels like it's right out of the Bavarian Alps - perfect! As soon as seated, we were greeted with a comp bowl of house made chips and dip. Delicious! The Weihenstephaner Hefeweiss Dunkel was remarkedly fresh - as good as we'd expect in Germany. We ordered a Bavarian Platter and the Pretzel Crusted Chicken. The platter was massive! A taste of everything traditional and more than half the platter came home with us. Such a fantastic bargain! The chicken was a fun surprise - tasted just like a Bavarian pretzel with a delicious mustard sauce. We didn't get to check out the beer garden, but it looked interesting . We hope to get to return soon to try it.

Another awesome experience at The Munich Haus. Absolutely love this place. I'll let the photos speak for themselves. The service is brilliant too. They treat you like family here. 3 Thumbs Up & 5 Stars from us :)

Munich Haus is a gem! My partner and I stumbled on this last year on our way up the coast and this year decided to stop here just so we could eat at Munich Haus again! I loved the atmosphere, the food is incredible and the cost is way too reasonable for that quality. The entire experience is a pleasure; they're super friendly here. The schnitzel was absolutely perfect and I loved how the salad dressing with Roquefort blue cheese was mixed right at the bar, where I was dining. I highly recommend stopping in Chickopee just for this restaurant!

If you've never been to the Munich Haus, you are missing out on the finest German food for sure. October is extra special with their annual Octoberfest banquets. Ambiance is warm, woody and full of steins! Schnitzels are the best and don't forget the obligatory strudel. Service is always superior!

After the big St. Patrick's Day Race, we stopped in after Yelp suggested this was both on our way home AND a better bet than the food trucks. We were surprised that parking was a breeze, with multiple entrances. The seating os designed to fit couples or larger groups comfortably, and you can tell the local love to sit around the long bar and chat. We loved our booth! The staff was quick, knew a lot about the different food options, and cocktail selection and beer selection was great. We chose a different cocktail from the list, and shared a bunch of appetizers. The sprouts were good, and the wings were tasty. I think the only thing that got a "nah" was the crab cake. I definitely have it on my list to go back for a meal, noting several dinner specials that met my creative palette.

Upon arrival, we were greeted and seated in the bar area, which features a long bar and high-top tables. They have a solid selection of beer and alcohol. We started with the chili, topped with cheese and served with chips for dipping--it was delicious. My wife ordered the turkey club, while I opted for the tomato bisque with a grilled cheese sandwich. She enjoyed her club, and I loved my grilled cheese; it was very cheesy and made with Texas toast. However, I found the bisque a bit too thick for my taste. The servers were friendly, and we'll definitely return. I learned that they have separate lunch and dinner menus--unfortunately, I didn't realize I was looking at the dinner menu when I saw the steak, which isn't available during lunch.

We got seated right away, but it was busy for the time (mid afternoon). Our server was very friendly and the food came out quickly. The French onion soup hit the spot and was some of the best I've ever had. Rich beef broth, tender onions, nice and hot, and of course perfectly melted cheese. We shared a patty melt with onion rings. The patty melt was overdone - we ordered medium but it was beyond well done. Still flavorful but would have preferred it as ordered. They had a large patio which must be nice in the summer. A lot of the photos showed it being in a shopping mall, but those must be old, because it is a standalone restaurant. We will definitely go back when in the area, especially when we want French onion soup!

The burgers certainly didn't seem fresh. We had the appetizer pretzel that was $12 and came out on the big "show-stopping" hook. The bottom was almost burnt, it had no salt on it and absolutely ZERO flavor. The mustard and cheese sauce that they gave you to dip it in was tasteless. I'm pretty sure the cheese sauce was from a can and the mustard was just plain yellow mustard. Gross. The only redeeming thing about the meal was my chili..I'd say that was very good. Everything else was subpar. Service was friendly, but we didn't really require a lot. It was over $100 for four of us to have a light lunch and only one person had an alcoholic beverage. So it's pretty expensive for midgrade pub food. The atmosphere has a cozy vibe and I'm sure when their patio is open, people will enjoy that. But I certainly won't be back anytime soon.

Tucked in the basement of a historic mill, it's clear how rustic is a fitting name. Thankfully there is ample signage to direct you to the libations as it could be challenging to find without it. There's plenty of parking and multiple lots to choose from. It was eerily quiet for a Friday night at 6pm as I was 1 of maybe 3 or 4 patrons. The beer tender greeted me with a quick smile and description of their serving styles. Due to my short stop I only had 1 draft and grabbed a few treats to go. I didn't notice any food trucks, but I also wasn't looking for any. Although it's in the basement, it's quite warm, bright, clean and inviting. There was plenty of entertainment available from board games and televisions to gaming systems and pinball machines. Well-behaved, potty trained children and dogs are both welcome. The beer was tasty and made me wish I had more time to try some of their different styles.
