I love the hole in the wall vibe you get when you walk in. Super family friendly though when you see "Pubhouse" you think more bar vibe. They do have a bar, but it's just the bar top and pretty small. The decor is really nice for the small space. Not "modern" by any means but just a real homey vibe. There's a bunch random decorative pieces: -Guitar with "moonshine" written on it -Wall lights (like those you put up on your garage door for Christmas) -Rustic placks with random phrases -Many TVs (not gigantic but there are 8 of them, sooo I feel like it's okay. Lol) We ordered the pretzel as an appetizer and it was AMAZING. (See pic if you want a visual.) I can't remember the last time I've had a pretzel this good. The cheese was on point too. Note: if you aren't a spicy fan the cheese comes with two pieces of jalapeños on top so make sure you ask for it without that if you don't like those. I ordered the buffalo wings with the potato skins. They were sooo good! The wings came out a little dryer than I typically like so I asked for an extra side of the hot sauce and it was PERFECT. Also, I really appreciated how much actual meat was on the piece. Really great portion. And... 5/6 pieces were drum sticks which is abnormal to me! They make their own ranch which is awesome. It's thick and has a really great flavor. My friend also randomly said their broccoli was flavored good! Had a great experience here. Susan was our waitress and she was super sweet! The food is great, the atmosphere is inviting, the price is well worth it. It's always busy so expect a little bit of a weight around normal eating times. I don't suggest sitting at the bar though, it's really hard to get service. read more

The steaks are so overpriced I cannot believe it. This is a bar, and they treat it like it's Saint Elmo, not to mention it's mediocre at best. Moving here from Chicago to a neighborhood very close on five points. I wanted to support this place but the service is satisfactory at best. Eat here frequently. Tonight I ordered the 6 oz filet. The cut was like none I have ever seen before. It looked like a small tip. The grain of the meat ran lengthwise along the steak. I was with a friend and he ordered the shrimp which he said was very good, although his salad had old Brown lettuce at the bottom of his bowl. Our waitress (not the couple seated after us) was too busy socializing to even get our drinks. I am a very patient person, but 15 minutes is too long to wait for a drink. I was traveling with a friend form out of town and we came across this place for dinner. The staff was very friendly and took good care of us. We didn't have a wait at all (luckily) and were seated in a clean, well prepped table. We shared a calamari which was good but not great. It could have used a little more time to crisp up. The dipping sauce they used was really good and I hope in the future they add jalapeño poppers with the same dipping sauce. That would be wonderful. I got their "blue burger" which was perfectly cooked and had a generous amount of blue cheese. My friend got their rib-eye oscar style and it looked great and he seemed to enjoy it. My burger came with fries which were good but could have also used another few minutes to crisp up. All in all, this is a really good place to get pub food. Murphys Pubhouse is super close to home so we decided to grab a late dinner. This is my second time there, I hadn't been back because I wasn't too impressed the first time. There are some goods and some ehs. It was pretty late on a Friday so the place was pretty slow. Service was good and our waitress was very nice. She even brought out a sample of the summer sangria for me to try. Not very potent, but still good! My husband had the pork-chops and I had the ham and cheese panini with fries. My husband enjoyed his food, but to be honest, he isn't too easy to please. My sandwich was alright, but the fries were great! The prices overall are a little expensive for what it is. And the regulars are just as nice, I definitely felt like I was part of the group pretty quickly. Food is good, I had the challenge on the first night. It's two half pound burgers that were well cooked. Cheese selection is nice, I mean what kind of bar has asiago or gouda? The fries are to die for though. Super crispy. Next night I had the salmon, which was a proportioned cut. Well cooked also, with a but too much of the sweet glaze on it. Also, could have used a little more rice pilaf on the side, but in general pretty good. The beer selection was decent, and they were concerned enough about the Wisconsin fans coming in (it was the week before the final four) that they were trying to finish a tap to make room for the leiny summer shandy. Update, owner replied and made it right. I appreciate him doing that.. Went in for lunch on a Tuesday. Got there at 12:30 and were about 8 tables seated. We ordered 12:35 and at 1:15 we still had not received our food. Tables came and went in that time frame and all were served except us. Chicken fingers and steak and cheese sandwich doesn't require much cook time. Finally walked up to bar and ask for the manager, he was cooking didn't even have an I'm sorry. Said he hadn't had the ticket to long. So was he throwing the server under the bus for not entering it? She was standing right there and had nothing to sat except she has been waiting on it. Giving the Pubhouse high ratings for my first visit. Greeted warmly, seated promptly, and served courteously. Good selections on the menu - local pub fare plus some surprising entrées and appetizers. We chose the fish and chips, which was lightly hand battered and NOT frozen & "the challenge" burger, which was cooked perfectly medium rare. Murphy's Pubhouse has been a pleasant surprise, and very welcome for those of us in nearby Franklin Township. The dining room area isn't all that big, but that's not the only reason there is usually a wait. Everything my family has ordered so far has been very good - from steak to kids' hamburgers, salads, and the steak sandwich. Most surprisingly to us is their pizza! We aren't really into chain pizza places much (don't get me wrong, we still order delivery, but...) so discovering a local place with some very tasty pizza made us happy peeps. They use the crumbly sausage, which is a huge bonus for our picky 7 year old. We do wish they had breadsticks. We've tried to order some the last few times to no avail. But, I'll gladly take a better quality pizza over cheaply made pizza and breadsticks every time. Don't be put off by the location and give this establishment a try! I've been a long time customer of Murphy's, both this location and the north side location. Today I ordered the lunch meatloaf special that came with the loaded mashed potatoes. I requested them with no sour cream and they arrived with sour cream. No problem I just asked that they be replaced. The waitress took the plate back and brought it back in less than a minute. I could clearly see that they just took a spoon and scooped out the sour cream and didn't even get it all. When I asked the waitress said "he said he replaced them". Clearly not the case. I sent the meal back as I didn't want it at this point. Murphy's is willing to loose a 20 plus year customer to save on mashed potatoes that would have cost them 25 cents to just replace. read more
