Came here because of the great reviews! Was surprised at how small the place was when we first walked in. The place wasn't very busy since it was about 6pm on a Wednesday. My wife and I felt a little out of our element for the first few minutes while sitting at a table looking at the menu. We also didn't know if we were supposed to order at the bar because we were waiting for about 10 minutes before someone finally came to say hi and take our order. We were actually about to leave right as the guy came and talked to us, we are glad we stayed. The food was very good. We had wings and onion rings. Our server let me try a few of their wing sauces because i was very interested in something extra spicy. Ended up loving the second hottest (they were out of the hottest) and even got some to take with me for the burger we ordered to take back to our hotel. The atmosphere continued to liven up as the night progressed. Between my wife and I we had probably about 5 pitchers of beer. It was karaoke night and we ended up drinking and talking with a bunch of different people. Before we even noticed what was going on the entire place was packed and the vibe was super chill and fun. I wish I wasn't such a chicken and gotten up there to sing lol. When we finally were ready to go back to the room I ordered my burger to go and asked for the check. Our bill was less than $50! I've never drank all night and even got food to go for that little of $$. We spent maybe another $10 on the jukebox. It was awesome choosing all the songs we wanted to hear straight from our phones. Our server was nice enough to tell us not to put more money into the music because the karaoke was about to begin. We loved this place, we hope to go back for another visit soon. read more

We had so much fun singing karaoke on a tuesday night. It was our spring break so most places were pretty quiet but this place was alive. The pour of wine was super generous and we had the jalepeno poppers which were yummy. My husband also lived the wings. read more

OMG this bar made my list of top 10 bars in my life. Seriously, maybe it was the group I was with, maybe it was the particular night I went, maybe it was the wine I drank before I arrived, but I had a blast when I came here. It's a dive bear full of who I would assume to be locals, or maybe tourists who look exactly like locals, and every night is karaoke night. There is this one chick who I swear must be into karaoke every night, because she's a good singer and loooooves to get up there and sing fun songs that the entire bar ends up singing along with. The people watching, the screaming of lyrics, the drinks, the graffiti'd tables, the no-rules-atmosphere... love it. Had my friend not wanted to try something a bit "classier" (AKA Chad's-- HA! Not quite what I was expecting but was fun! Went here on Saturday night with my Husband for dinner and drinks. We got there around 8:30pm and it was already pretty busy; karoke had already started! Not the best atmosphere to sit and have dinner, we ended up eating at the bar. But I will say that the crab cakes were amazing, just took awhile to make! We found this place through yelp and decided to check it out. It does look a little divey at first look but believe me it was a night well spent. The food was good, and super cheap. We shared an entree, had beers and drinks and only paid $25. After we got there, they started karaoke and that was super fun to watch. The owner came around and introduced himself and was so nice. Love this place! We took a slight detour going to Vegas from LA. We got a free app with our Yelp check in. Nancy (the BEST!!!!) recommended the nachos. Wow - the chips were freshly fried and DELICIOUS! I ordered the fish tacos - the fish was crunchy and delicious. The place is sooo cool - I wished that we had more time. The back patio is awesome. They have the best selection of beers on tap! I am thinking of planning a weekend in Big Bear with friends - just so that I can introduce them to Murray's!!! read more

Such good food for being a dive bar! Anytime we are in big bear we make a stop here for the ahi! Best Ahi I have tasted in awhile. Finding a place to sit can be tough because it is small but the staff is really nice and will do whatever the can to accomodate you. They have pool tables and karaoke which is so fun! read more

Servers/bartenders are so nice & friendly! They treated us like family or friends that we've known forever! Poppers are delicious, fried mushrooms are huge & some of the best I've ever had. Came in during Labor Day weekend about 6pm and they had a healthy crowd. Live music (karaoke like), drinks were good, bartenders were nice and friendly. We didn't eat but the food around us looked above bar food par. Will definitely return when in the area. Overall good experience. read more

BACON-WRAPPED SHRIMP!!! Awesome!!! My girlfriend & I also shared a burger and jalenpeno poppers, that stuff was ok. The bar is small, lots of fun, killer jukebox and karaoke nightly. Minus the karaoke-snobs (regulars who think they'll win the next American Idol!), it was a great time. Before it got too busy, the bartender (Jenny) was waiting on us, she was nice and made us some good drinks. Definitely worth stopping by if you like the slower-paced dive bar atmosphere. read more

Small little saloon. Saloon is the best name for it. Friendly atmosphere at least during the day when I went. The owner, the bartender, patrons - all very friendly make you feel right at home. The people here are so down to earth and FUN! My friends and I had a fantastic time here! The bacon wrapped shrimp were very decadent. Our waitress Nicole was so warm and attentive. I'm sure everyone hated my singing but they at least were accepting on the outside. Also...my friends and I happened to all leave without anyone settling our tab. This place is a must when I visit Big Bear. The food is awesome. The karaoke can be a treat and sometimes not but always a good time. They have a juke box when karaoke isn't happening. If you are a pool shark they even have a table. The staff is great especially the bartender Allie. My friend and I came in a night prior when it was packed and she recognized us. It's a treat to have a bartender that receptive. If you are looking for a bite and a brew this place is it! read more

This being my first Time in Big Bear I pretty lost. We found this place and it was amazing! Had the Jalapeño Poppers which were out of this world! If you are looking for a place to enjoy a beer and some excellent bar food this is exactly that place. They are filled with locals and we were in there in the afternoon on a Saturday and they had a karaoke show going. So much fun! We came to eat here with a group of friends based the good reviews here on Yelp. The good experience we were expecting to receive was anything but that. Horrible customer service skills from the waitress, which is why my review is very poor. If you look at the business's own message under Menu for Murray's Saloon & Eatery, it states," If you can't find what you want on our menu, let us know what you're craving, and we'll prepare it for you ". Well that didn't happen, I requested a side of their garlic mashed potatoes since I saw it came on a different plate but I only wanted the mashed potatoes to join with the salmon dinner plate a ordered. Mashed potatoes were clearly on the menu, yet the waitress said they only make enough for the actual dinner plate it comes with, so she refused to sell me a side of mashed potatoes. Our food took over 40 min to come out, when she brought it out, she never came back to check on us, and only returned to leave the check after about another hour. I asked her if she can charge my part of the bill on my card, she rudely said no and quickly walked away, I then asked her if she can please give me change then but she was half way gone already, I had to flag her down to come back, she turned back around like if I was bothering her and she grabbed my money out of my hands to give me change. Prior to her walking away, she handed me another bill and before I can say anything else, she walked away again. When she returned with my change I asked her if this was the correct bill amount, she then rudely grabbed it out of my hands and said to the table next to us that was their bill. I was very disappointed with the kind of customer service we received. If management follows up with reviews on here, I hope they take into consideration everybody's feed back so they can improve and provide some customer service skills training to this particular female waitress. I live in Big Bear, and after trying most of the restaurants here, my wife and I rarely eat anywhere but Murray's. Consistently the best food at the best price, and always generous servings - bring your appetite, you'll need it! All the burgers are awesome, even a couple of sliders can make a nice light meal if you want to leave room for another beer or two. Fish and chips are the best on the mountain, right up there with the best I've had anywhere. Not to go over the entire menu but check out the bacon wrapped shrimp or the jalapeno poppers, or my personal favorite the calamari strips, for an appetizer or another light meal option. Sunday-only breakfast is also great, top quality and generous portions, and they make everything the way you want it, add something or leave something off, they just want to give you a meal you'll enjoy. There's karaoke every night, good sounding system, great song selection and professional karaoke hosts. Friday and Saturday it starts early, 2-4-ish hosted by Cowboy Russ, with fairly mellow crowd and some pretty amazing talent. KJ Jimmy V takes over at 9 and keeps it hopping with a high energy younger crowd and the place often gets pretty packed. Bottom line - for food, music, fun, or all three, you can't beat Murray's Saloon and Eatery! read more

Well what can I say...I have been up here to board so many times and have never been here. Dive bar? Yes. Food? Yep. The food here is soooo insanely good! I honestly couldn't even believe how delicious and fresh it was. We had a group of 9 and every one of us were so happy with what we ordered. My dude and I ordered the bacon wrapped shrimp and the fish and chips and split. Omg. So fuckin bomb. Also at our table ordered was; jalapeño poppers, seared ahi tuna, fish tacos, calamari and a beef dip. Seriously, highly recommend this place. You wont be disappointed. Give the Irish mule a try.
