How they used to be
Amanda M.

Would always come here for years and rave about their cheese sticks to everyone and recommend them .. drove over a hour just to get this craving.. sadly disappointed it seems like they changed them up . We asked if they changed them and they said they're the same. Wish they could have them the same way they used to now they just taste really bland. Im so sad they used to be my favorite, if you had them before you know

Quaint little bar/restaurant in Big Bear. Sweet workers and quick service. I got the fish and chips and would recommend them for sure. My husband got a burger that was juicy and tasty. They had karaoke on Saturday when we went. Cute little place and worth a visit.

It's like a bar that you see in a movie! Went in on a weekday lunch time and there were people inside with kids Apparently..... they accept kids during the day which is nice. There are bar seats and tables ... and even a spot to do karaoke.... The service was pretty good. We got checked on multiple times ..... We had their burger - one with blue cheese With onion rings And fish and chips. Both were not bad.... The only thing that was off was the taste of the diet pepsi.... seemed a little off. It's a nice place to eat at... But best to go on a non rush hour ... Theres some street parking but would def be a problem when its peak time

Went back again and it was even better! Food rocks the house, especially the ribeye dinner.Burgers are bombastic! Food is cooked to order so be patient as you wait for the food to be prepared. Have a $4 mystery beer while you wait.

I love this place. The vibe, the staff, the food. Its a little gem. It's a must go, everytime I come to town. The burger is my go too. Its cooked on a grill, always fresh and juicy, fresh toppings, and generous portions. I highly recommend this place.

My sister raved about this spot in Big Bear, so we had to try it -- and it didn't disappoint! It's a cute local dive bar with a super down-to-earth vibe. Great service. There's karaoke too. The food was delicious, portions were huge, and prices were super reasonable. Everything was so good we came back the next day for lunch again! I still think about this spot every once in a while -- such a gem.

Murray's Saloon & Eatery in Big Bear serves a varied menu of from-scratch American comfort food. While it has a dive-bar atmosphere, it is highly regarded for its large portions and high-quality pub fare. Popular items include chicken nachos (often cited as the best in town), jalapeño poppers, hand-battered mozzarella sticks, and fried zucchini. For a full meal, they serve ribeye steak, wild salmon, and traditional hot dogs with optional chili. Because Murray's is a popular spot for karaoke in Big Bear, it can get very crowded on Friday and Saturday nights. If you want to ensure you get a turn to sing, consider arriving earlier in the evening or visiting during the week.

Came in here after a long day of snowboarding and was greeted by Antonio. His service was above and beyond. Always had a great beer and hot food. You guys know how much I hate lukewarm food if you follow me. He delivered and satisfied the hungry palate. We went with the wings and the jalapeño poppers. I may add a tequila and beer. If you're ever in town for a good snowboarding trip ask for Antonio! Beer up for an awesome run! Thanks Antonio!

I am not sure why I never reviewed this place before. It's one of the best option in Big Bear if you are into a very friendly "divey" atmosphere saloon serving excellent bar food, offering a great on tap selection and heavy pours shots! The staff is super friendly and fun. The food comes in very large portions. Everything is cooked to order (you will wait a bit to get your dish) from fresh ingredients. A burger will feed two 10 years old kids easily. I personally love their jalapeno poppers. I don't know how they prepare them but those are the best I ever had. The sliders (more like the size of a regular fast-food burger) are delish and a huge plus for the club sandwich. The steaks are incredible, perfectly seasoned and melting in your mouth. They also host crazy karaoke night, packed with friendly locals and a raging ambiance! Highly recommended. PS: To all reviewers complaining about slow service: they Can't go faster than the kitchen. There is a warning sign on the left side of the bar that service can be slow!

Simply unbeatable. Loud, but the most amazing food and great drinks. Would recommend to anyone who wants the best food and doesn't mind a loud environment. Loved the steak. Good service.

10/10!!!! Amanda & Shantelle are amazing! Fully packed house & these girls are rockin' it! The fish tacos are OUT OF THIS WORLD, as well as the Zucchini. We will definitely be back! HIGHLY recommend.

It was a rather chilly evening so we requested to sit indoors. This restaurant looks extremely upscale, but the servers and the employees are all down to earth very gracious and willing to help. My wife ordered the Oakside burger and sweet potato fries, and I ordered the French dip along with sweet potato fries. The wife thoroughly enjoyed her burger. It was cooked to perfection. The bun was fresh and the condiments crisp. She also really liked her sweet potato fries. They were hot and freshly prepared. I ordered the beef dip that was served on a unique roll that was outstanding. It really set off the whole sandwich. The Ajou was great, and the fresh horseradish was on point. The entire sandwich tasted amazing. Also, I enjoyed the sweet potato fries. This was a very nice dining experience. We will definitely be going back again when we're hungry for something more than just sandwiches. Their menu looked outstanding with some great looking steaks and seafood. Here is my story On one hand, my journey to big Bear Valley was defeated because snow was scarce. And, I had to learn how to find the bald eagles. That is my preference now on to oak side I'm guessing Oakside as the place to go locals and visitors alike. Street level is patio dining upstairs second level is covered and rather dark. Food menu is what anyone can expect from a local pub restaurant diner Same thing can be said about their alcoholic beverages or their non-alcoholic alcoholic beverages You do need to check in with the gal downstairs if you want to sit on the street level patio dining. Otherwise walk up the stairs and sit at the bar. Food was decent. Service was excellent. If I'm ever in the area again.(I'm sure I will be) I definitely stop in again

We understand that's not ideal for most restaurants, but we would've rather been turned away than sat down and treated poorly. We walked into the restaurant and waited for someone to help us. Three different servers saw us, gave us dirty looks, and walked past. One of them rudely said, "why are you waiting here?" and walked away. Finally, we stopped an employee to ask if they would be able to seat our party. They bluntly told us we'd need to wait outside. We left, seeing that they clearly did not want to host us. Other restaurants were booked up for the night, so after walking around the village, we came back. They finally sat us at a large table outside. Our main waiter was friendly and helpful. The only decent service of the night. Another plus was food did not take too long, but the dishes were nothing worth returning for. The staff who came to take plates spoke to us with an irritated attitude. Not sure if the poor service had to do with the diversity in our group, but it sure felt like it. Not a positive experience in the slightest.

Haha The restaurant has plenty of parking and inside is comfortable with plenty of booth seating and tables for large parties. This wonderful establishment has been around for OVER 30 years and the story behind it is one of Hollywood hero movies. I won't spoil it, BUT I WILL share that the owner worked 4 jobs to get the place up and running after the previous owner bailed on paying the franchise fees owed for the prior named place... which then got everyone fired the less than 2 weeks before Christmas. UGH!!!! In the end, the hero saves the restaurant! Ask Debbie to tell you the story when you go eat there and keep it open for another 30 plus years!!!!
