Well what took me so long to make this review. Well it took a lot of years of passing by to finally stop in and see what all the good reviews were about. Stopped in hungry and thirsty on a Saturday evening. Seemingly the perfect combo for a place like this. Grabbed a seat at the bar, had some great friendly conversation with the bartender and had some great libations. I them perused the menu and went for the salmon. Murray's has great food and drinks. The salmon was amazing and the drinks were poured well. This place has a fun friendly atmosphere with great food and drinks. It gets a bit crowded during the weekend but hey that makes it more fun. They also have karaoke. It's basic, no reverb or vocal effects on a basic mike but hey, it's karaoke. I look forward to returning and enjoying more of their food and singing some more karaoke. Wow!! Figured we would try it based on the reviews and it did not disappoint!! The spicy chicken sandwich and the French dip were out of this world. I don't normally review places but this deserved it! The service from all the employees was top notch. Such a great experience overall and will be back very soon!!! read more

I love how homey this bar is. Super cozy and small but it's so clean and great vibes! Food and drinks are great!!! Oh my! the Bloody Mary was perfect! The pickled green beans reminds me of this organic Bloody Mary we had in New Orleans it was so crunchy! My martini was good too exactly how I liked it. It's like she read my mind and added extra olives without me requesting it. Which I always do, but forgot this time because we were hungry Lol My sliders though, something so easy but they did it perfectly! They even toasted both of the inside of the bread. It's so reasonably priced too! Both bartenders hustle and they are so nice and attentive. This is our new little spot to spot by when we come out here to BB. read more

Often visited, had beverages, always loved the vibe! But we always wind up somewhere else for dinner. Not this time! My wife had salmon, I had steak. Mine was awesome, BIG steak cooked perfectly! But the salmon was the best out of the two, imo. And the limited wait staff are incredibly fast and attentive. We have a small place in the Big Bear, so we eat downtown all the time. Murray's is a top of the list locale! The great reviews are spot on, and a must-try!! read more

Well, wish I could say we had a great experience at Murrays. Food looked great, was recommended this place by many friends and locals. Never got a chance to order, took 20 minutes to get anyones attention, was yelled at for asking what beers they have. Bartender acted like it was a huge problem just to help us. I got a draft and my wife got a whisky drink. Asked for lunch menu's and again was treated with such disrespect. The pale female bartender then began being overly aggresive towards my wife for no reason, cursing and yelling. With my wife being upset we decided to get lunch elsewhere. Manager needs to get thier employees in check, no reason for being so rude. It's not a good look. Will not be returning. read more

PLEASE READ! This was single handed the worst experience ever. The owner of this place (who proudly said his name was Mike btw) was drunk and awful at his own place of business. What he did was completely unacceptable. My boyfriend asked to pet a service dog of a family who was a husband , wife, and little baby. They kindly said yes. The owner started to yell at them saying you cannot do that and to not ever pet a service animal in a very disrespectful manner. The wife trying to deflect explained it was ok, he then said "stfu b***!" I stepped in and told him to not speak to her that way. He said "this is my f*ucking bar I could do what I want and as a matter of fact get the same fuxk out of here!" A waitress stepped in and told him hey there's a baby you need to calm down. He said he didn't give a F and continued to curse at us. He was aggressive and horrible. I wish I had gotten a better picture of him. I don't normally post reviews but I truly hope he wakes up with some remorse how he treated guests. read more

This is one of our favorite spots to go out to eat in Big Bear. Everything on the menu has been delicious. Love their fireball sauce!! Amazing on chicken wings and hamburgers, it is quite spicy bit worth it! Their fish & chips and ahi tuna are delicious as well. Though the shining star for our family is the fish tacos. Like I said everything is delicious, you can't go wrong. read more

I have never experienced what we went through yesterday. Please read the reviews, the other party that was that was involved just wrote another review on how horrible the owner treated us! Everything honestly happened so fast and just escalated to 100 real quick. There was another family with a service dog and there child. Our friend was talking to them and asked to pet there service dog. Out of nowhere a man that later identified himself as Mike the owner jumped out of his seat to call the others family's wife a bitch! And tell us how we are f$%Ken stupid. I couldn't believe how angry he was. He stunned us all and the other poor family kept trying to calm him down bit he wasn't having it. He said he is the owner and all of us needed to pay our tab and get the f$%k out. Another party tried to calm him down and the waitress even apologized to us because they couldn't understand why this was going on. I'm firm believer it's all the way you say things, he could of asked both parties nicely but I hate to even bring up the race card. But the other family was Asian and we are Hispanics and I just felt he had a problem with us since the beginning so this just fueled him to act this way. Never again! read more

We use to look forward to going to Murray's on our Big Bear trips. Unfortunately that is no longer the case. While Murray's is very busy and the lineup is long the jack wagon they have hired as a KJ is pay to play. Prepare to see the same singers multiple times before you get up unless you are prepared to outbid them. What a joke! read more

Fun times here and woooo lol. The food i did not like though and at times the waitresses were so rude like girl im just enjoying my drink dont talk to me so rudely. Apparently they only have outdoor/dog friendly seating on the weekend. This isn't posted anywhere so would have been good to know. Lots of people say dogs are allowed inside, but definitely not. Not super impressed with my interaction of whoever greeted me. He wasn't the friendliest. read more

This place was very unique. Locals...yes. Did they make us feel like locals...yes. Service was quick and efficient. No nonsense. Our burger was excellent. The bartender took our order and recognized when we were ready for the bill. Make sure that you pay attention to where you park. Apparently the place across the street is not fond of patrons here. Comfortable, welcoming, great food. So glad that we stopped in. read more

We went to Murray's yesterday for lunch and it was absolutely delicious!!! I had a burger and it was flavorful and juicy and cooked perfectly! Yum! My hubby had the beef dip and it was wonderful and tender and the dipping sauce was great! I definitely recommend! Best burger in town! We will be back very soon! read more

Best bloody Mary ever!! This is an amazing, warm & welcoming establishment & i couldn't be happier with the treatment by the skilled bartenders (Nicole and Ashley) owner Mike (who is present not behind the scenes) who is very personable & accommodating. It's like you feel welcome the minute you step into the bar, love a "dive bar" no question, but this is not just a dive bar...and very few do it correctly. Bathrooms are clean, I just cannot express the appreciation i have for this place. Please go, it is small but big things come in small packages. You're welcome. read more

We got the burgers which seem to be the go to here, very good Bacon Burger and Jalapeño Bacon Burger. At first the price seemed high but it is well worth it for the size and quality. However, although the ambience is nice, if you are not a local good-luck getting good service. Our drinks weren't getting replenished unless we asked, checking in, threw the card once we paid or a "soft toss". Customer service just needs to up its attentiveness. Overall great place and would come again. Definitely amazing to see the customer service for the locals and they are sweet. read more

Looking for a place to Kareoke in big bear? Here is the perfect bar to go! Table is first come first serve and we went there on Saturday night. That was a full bar! Luckily we got a table near the TV in the back, we ordered fried zucchini, calamari, chicken wings with fireball sauce and a fried shrimp. The fried zucchini was so good!!!! I was not expecting bar food can be this tasty. The fireball chicken wings are pretty spicy and tasty. The server and the MC are extremely nice and friendly!! Whole night people were singing back to back, the atmosphere in the bar is above the moon. I'll definitely come back again when I visit big bear, maybe just not going to drunk singing again. Busy weekend in the Village. We visited based upon a recommendation from a local. Cool low key spot. It was a sight for sore eyes after trying to maneuver through crowds. Welcoming atmosphere. TVs all around had the football game going. Ordered fried zucchini, yummmm. Hand-dipped. Ordered the steak plate with veggies, mashed potatoes and cheesy bread. Service was good. Karaoke started up right before we left. Recommend! read more

Established in 1990.

For over 30-years Murray's Saloon and Eatery has been serving the Big Bear area. We are locally family owned and operated, and we're a local favorite for bikers, skiers, and hikers. We're open 7-days a week. We do not close for fire, flood, snow, or electricity malfunctions so come hang out and enjoy a delicious meal at Murray's. Families with children are welcome at Murray's until 5 pm or at the discretion of our bartender. Our crowd can change in the evening. At Murray's Saloon we have a full bar with beers on tap, as well as a large wine and liquor selection. We've transformed from a dive bar with bras on the ceiling to a classy saloon. We have karaoke Tuesday-Sunday. Our building was originally a hospital; many people have been born in our location. Closing times may vary and we do not have a website or post pictures of our menu. Murray's Saloon & Eatery has been serving the community of Big Bear Lake for over 30 years, and is a local's favorite. Murray's is famous for its Karaoke (Wed-Sun) where you can find individuals from all walks of life (locals, bikers, skiers, hikers) any hour of the day, 365 days a year. Mike and Raelene Kostiuk are the passionate owners and operators of Murray's Saloon & Eatery. The Kostiuk's took ownership of Murray's in May of 2009. Over the years they have made significant and much needed updates and improvements. Both the interior and exterior of the bar have been updated, as well as a new and varied menu of home cooked style eats, almost all made from scratch. We lunch,and dinner, You'll find many items named for team members and locals who have inspired these over the top creations (see the Russell Burger).

Yes they do have uber, we used uber up there. They only have 7 drivers though, the second time we used them we had to request it twice because all drivers were busy.

I recommend you go on a day when drag queens aren't performing if you're looking for a more chill, laid back kind of vibe which is totally my style. Other than that, it was cool and I'll definitely be going back. This time I want to try their food.

The drinks were fantastic, reasonably priced, and generously poured. In fact, days later we were still talking about how good the drinks were and how much fun we had. We ended up ordering some food while we were there, and the fries were amazing. Sometimes bar food can be an afterthought, but that definitely wasn't the case here. The KDJ did an outstanding job keeping the energy up and making everyone feel welcome. The bartenders were friendly, attentive, and helped create a great atmosphere throughout the evening. Another thing worth mentioning is that the bathrooms were clean, which is always appreciated and says a lot about how a place is maintained. Most importantly, every single person in our group had a great time. It's not often that six people all walk away from a night out completely happy, but that's exactly what happened. Yup one side of a hot dog bun with garlic butter and a ketchup cup with sauce to dip it in. I do believe, I'd give them a second chance if I'm being honest but my first visit is the only mulligan they'll get. Next time I will not accept a pizza made incorrectly or order the garlic bread.
