So happy they opened up a Musashi's here in Kent!! I ordered ahead, the lady told us it would take a while due to many orders. I was fine with that and understand! We ordered way more than we should have. My fav was the seared salmon and Chirashi bowl. Everything from the rolls, Nigiri, and Sashimi tasted deliciously fresh and some miso soup to wash it down. Although I didn't like the taste of the medium Fatty Tuna Nigiri, I still enjoyed everything else. I would say the quality and size of the fish is excellent. I asked for extra soy sauce and wasabi and they came through. Didn't have to double check the bag. The inside of Musashi's looked nice and clean! Have you noticed the commercial and residential real estate changes in the valley? You've probably felt it driving NB and SB 167 everyday...phew, that $9 HOT Lane can hurt the wallet if you're running late! The City of Kent is growing and it's most likely the reason why Musashi's set up shop at Ethos, the ridiculously expensive apartment complex at the bottom of 516/Kent Des Moines Rd. Mixed-use development is trending and I'm sure Musashi's wants to cater to the hungry Boeing, Blue Origin, and Amazon workers. Sure, you could go to Trapper's at Kent Station but Musashi's has an established following too. Remember Field of Dreams? "If you build it, he will come." I guess the folks of Musashi's might have had a similar idea..."If you open a sushi joint, they will come." This holds true because when I walked in they were prepping a major order. No tables for dining in but that could potentially change in the coming months. Staff was friendly and were kind enough to inform me to order ahead next time so that I wouldn't have to wait. Understandable. It's not like a fast food joint where they plop everything together. Prepping cuts of fish, portioning out rice, and grilling takes time. They were busy and that was nice to see in this kind of economy. I also didn't mind waiting inside since the PNW is currently experiencing an unprecedented heat wave and Musashi's had precious air conditioning. I drove back home and propped open the to-go containers. Food was fresh and presented in a neat fashion. I wasn't expecting anything less. All in all, good money spent. Stay cool, friends! Okaaaaayy!!! This place is legit! Mind you, their menu is what I would reference as traditional, but don't quote me on that. No big menu of a bunch of sauces or deep fried options. Simple menu, simple options, simple takeout sushi spot that puts out good plates. This place is about highlighting the fish and I'm all for it. Huge cuts of fish, the nigri might as well be sashimi because the fish to rice ratio is dominated by the fish (not complaining!) What this place need is love and more love. If you've been to the musashi in Bellevue then you're familiar with what they have to offer. The food is great and the price is reasonable and the menu makes sense. Food wise I think they are doing ok here but the store just lacks the homely cozy feel the Bellevue store has. This location is brand new and on the ground floor of a new apartment complex. The lady there is very friendly and provides great customer service. This location accepts credit cards which some of the other locations do not. No dine-in options..they didn't have any tables or chairs in the establishment. Ordered ubereats twice. I used to frequent factoria a lot but recently their quality went down. This place has great quality, very accommodating. Rolls were delicious as well. Just wish they would separate hot and cold items in different bags because they out my chicken curry on top of my chirashi which made the sashimi warm but other than that, thumbs up. I also like that they put soy sauce in a little container instead of the little packets because those packets are usually never enough. My favorite musashi so far! read more

Wanted to like this place since it's right next to my home but it's bad. First of all the service, I placed my order, which said it would be ready in 35 minutes which I thought was kind of long but no worries. I show up 40 minutes later and my foods not ready and ended up waiting another 15 minutes before it was. There was only one person working there taking orders and making the food so there's the reason. The biggest reason for 1 stars is the quality of the food. First there was no wasabi or soy sauce. Second, ordered fatty tuna and was given regular tuna. The rest of the sushi was just very grocery store level sushi. The unagi in my unagidon was literally mush. Safe to say I won't be back. Sushi Kaunta 5 minutes down the street is a much much better option. Probably the best Kent has to offer. read more

Best seared salmon in WA! We come here at least once a week and always get 10 spicy seared salmon and 2 musashi rolls. The pieces are pretty big and the salmon just melts in your mouth. Contemplating moving into the apartment complex this location is in solely for the nigiris. read more

Walked in and girl was cleaning a table. She turned around and greeted us. We asked if it was self seating and she mumbled yes and said we could sit where we wanted. She came to ask us if we were ready to order. We ordered a few nigiri(Otoro-Fatty Tuna, Sake-Atlantic Salmon, Tobiko), a cooked Salmon/Cream Cheese roll and the Musashi Rolls. Wow, such a lack luster/poor quality food! The best thing that we ordered was the Sake nigiri. The cooked Salmon/Cream Cheese roll was sooo dry and extremely fishy my husband had to drench it in soy sauce. The Musashi roll was topped with what supposedly was spicy tuna...didn't even have one hint of spice and the fish quality was low grade. The worst part was the Otoro nigiri was so sad it looked like a piece of veal and tasted worse! The kicker, they charge for each piece of nigiri. I go here way more than I should but you can't beat their prices. I moved from Newcastle and I was actually sad I wouldn't be close to the Factoria location but thank goodness there's a Kent one. I haven't eaten in, there's not much seating but I usually pickup on the way home for the bf so it's never bothered me the low capacity for seats. Very clean inside though! Their chirashi bowls are amazing and you're able to customize it to your hearts content if you don't like something in particular. Holy f$@?!*** Never in my life have I experienced such bliss! I ordered on my phone and picked up my wonderful nigiri and cheese roll. I got three tuna pieces, Ikura, and an unagi piece. The cheese roll looks traditional as it's wrapped with seaweed instead of rice on the outside. Like just the looks of the nigiri alone are a meal to the eyes. The cheese roll was so good that I didn't even manage to snap a picture of it lol. The salmon in the cheese roll was actually cooked to my surprise but it gave it a wonderful texture, and it was seasoned to perfection! Umami, just stunningly savory, and rich but still balanced. I then attacked the nigiri, ever since moving to Washington from California, I switched from loving Salmon nigiri the most to loving tuna nigiri more. I got the three pieces of tuna nigiri and the quality and freshness of all the ingredients are unmatched anywhere else. The first bites were just a beautiful iron fresh taste and the best texture. I don't eat my sushi or nigiri with soy sauce as I like the pure taste of the fish. I had never had Ikura before, so I wanted to try it, it's salmon roe on top of rice, while held in by nori, very simple to make but the flavors you get from it are amazing! The Ikura bursts like popping pearls in boba, and it has a very salty flavor which complimented the tuna. Last was the Unagi and it was roasted to perfection, there was the perfect amount of sauce so there wasn't dripping anywhere and the fat of the meat was a little little bit crunchy and then it all melts in your mouth. This is an amazing sushi place and now is my absolute favorite place here that I've tried! read more

My family came here for dinner and it was a really disappointing experience. We love the Factoria and Seattle locations so we came here hoping it would be the same. The ambiance is cold and drafty like a warehouse. The service was so bad. It was definitely understaffed, there was only one girl working the register and the tables. I had to ask for water 3 times and we never got the water. The rolls I ordered were way too fat and not rolled or cut properly so each piece fell apart as soon as you tried to grab it. I did not receive one of the appetizers I ordered and I didn't notice till after we left because I was so ready to leave by the end of dinner.
