I don't know why it's taken me this long to write a review for the MV Grab & Go but here we are! This is a regular spot for us whenever we are craving something fast and easy (and absolutely delicious) for breakfast. I get the breakfast burrito every single time and every single time it is one of the most delicious things I have eaten. The people are always super nice and bring our food out to us insanely fast! The outdoor eating area is where we always sit and it's a really cozy spot to enjoy your food, drink some coffee, and read a book or get some work done. It is also usually very clean out there for an outdoor spot surrounded by trees, which is obviously appreciated. There are a lot of other amazing menu items as well, I just stick to the same thing because it's so damn good. I highly recommend coming here- we come at least once a month if not more! read more

Ordered 2 Falafel salads w/ delivery for lunch and the quality was so bad. Really surprised at the quality today. Greens were wilted / old, the falafel was stale like it had been sitting out, flavorless as a whole which I find unusual, since I normally love this salad even though it's expensive ($19.25 each for falafel and greens w/ cucumbers and tomatoes). There was a ton of watery liquid at the base of the salad that was really off putting...had to throw it out. Probably won't eat/order from here again. read more

Coming here for a second time around and it did not disappoint. I had come here about a year ago for a breakfast burrito and that was amazing though I don't recall too much about what the burrito was like besides it being good. The vibe in here is very quiet and chill. You can watch the food being made in front of you with the menu being right at the register. It's located in a nice spot with plenty of other good choices around. If you're looking for a sandwich or some breakfast item this place is great. The employee who helped me decide on my sandwich was lovely but I don't remember his name. The time I waited for my pulled pork sandwich was 10 minutes! It had so much flavor and was rich with ingredients. It came with some hot sauce which was a nice addition. Good portion. I'd recommend pairing your sandwich with chips. Doesn't matter whwre you get them. Total was about 18.86 after the tip. Bread was soft and fluffy. Flavors blended together as well. Omg the almond sauce was insanely umami and I was shocked how a veggie taco could be that rich Shrimp taco: my favorite!!! They offered to grill my shrimp because I didn't want the standard battered shrimp. JUICY, flavor-loaded, tasted so clean/not too oily! Salmon taco: generous hunk of salmon, perfectly moist and topped with pineapple and the flavors just blended so well Overall the tacos were absolutely delicious and loaded and unique, worth their price. The hot sauce just makes it even better. Also not sure if jt was the hot sauce or the tacos themselves was but my nose was RUNNING so yes it's sufficiently spicy. came here again for a quick to-go lunch, and i got the fish cake and shrimp taco. I mentioned I wanted the curry chicken salad but ultimately didn't get that due to budget constraints. He ended up giving me two sample cups of the curry chicken salad *cries* The shrimp taco you can get grilled or deep fried. I got it grilled and ugh it's not even fair how delicious it is. the sauce! the texture! everything! the fish cake was also yummy. he put it on a bed of mixed greens and it came with salad dressing. This breakfast burrito goes hard. It's so good. It's hot and fresh. The crema is so good and I wish there was more of it in my burrito, My first bite was crispy potato and warm tortilla, delicious. Get the side of hot sauce. It gives a nice kick. $18+ after tax is a bit expensive but it delivers, in my opinion. It's truly delicious. I'm looking forward to my next one. MV Grab and go has some tasty food to take out. We were there just last week, grabbed a wonderful red sauce pasta and were off with our find. We heated it up at home and were very happy. When you think of grab and go, I would think they mean it is all pre-prepared, just order and leave. This is not the case with most items. They prepare the food for you and it is not super fast. My friends turned me on to MV Grab & Go a couple of months ago. They are healthy and Vegan eaters and I really enjoyed myself...that day. We came back on a beautiful Sunday afternoon (04/07/2019) to have a late lunch after attending an event and I have to say that it was quite the opposite from my first visit. Let's start with the lady at the counter who clearly did not want to wait on me. She was unhelpful, and it felt as though she wanted to be anywhere else but there. My friends, who are familiar with the food finally had to step in because they saw how unhelpful she was. I ordered the Salmon Tacos and a Fish Cake. Both looked beautiful when they came out but all I could taste was cilantro. I could not taste the actual salmon and the fish inside the cakes. I've had better food and service there in the past, so I know what they can do. My lunch of 2 tacos, 1 fish cake, 1 Sprite and a to go container of Mediterranean Orzo...$26 The restaurant space is cute and small with a few places to dine in. There is sidewalk seating and a large back patio area that looks more like somebody's unkept backyard complete with dusty dirty tables and a stray cat jumping up on our table looking for food. Found this spot visiting the restaurant next door and had to try because I'm a fatty! This is a cool place. The tacos are insane and the breakfast burrito is bomb. When you walk in, or at least when I do, I'm usually greeted by Tiffany who is such a sweetheart. My first time coming I asked her what she recommended and I took her advice which was the pork belly taco, carnitas taco and the shrimp taco. The pork belly was magic, the carnitas were packed with flavor but the shrimp tacos where out of this world. Seriously, the craziest shrimp taco I've had thus far. It's almost beer battered but much lighter and the batter is flavored (trust me this makes a difference). They top it with cabbage and this briny cream sauce and just sets your tastebuds ablaze. Pro tip - get the hot sauce if you get a burrito. It's not spicy but it's flavorful. You don't really need it for the tacos because they have their own flavor profile but get it for the breakfast burrito. read more

Pricy but very solid breakfast burrito on the Westside. In a city where you can find a taco truck at almost every corner, I was a little surprised to see a $13 price tag on their burrito (my favorite truck charges $7 for the same size burrito). MV does seem to use fancier ingredients and I loved the salsa that came on the side. I live in Mar Vista and had walked by this place about a hundred times before actually heading in to give it a try. I guess by the name I thought it was mostly a place to pick up ready made items, so I was surprised by the big patio in the back. They also made our burritos to order which took 10-15 minutes. I believe we were the first people in on Memorial Day as the place was totally empty. There was only one gal working, taking ordered and making food. She wasn't particularly friendly but definitely got the job done. Parking in this part of Mar Vista can be tricky depending on the day, especially on Sundays since the farmers market is right around the corner. Expect meters or better yet, ride your bike as this section of Venice Blvd has awesome bike lanes. read more

We ordered the Green Pea Falafel & the Pulled Pork Sandwich. Holy moly I was so wowed with the first bite. The pulled pork sandwich is so refreshing. I loved that it wasn't heavy or greasy. We ordered everything he suggested (6 tacos in total) shrimp, brisket, pork belly, falafel and then 2 of the corn ones, I can't remember their proper name. $4 a taco (inc tax) you can't go wrong. This guy cares about the ingredients he uses and it shows. They were incredible, I went back for another corn taco. Juicy and crunchy, sweet and had a little kick to it. The MV Grab and Go is led by a friendly chef, who tends to work the counter on weekends. Before I ordered, he gave me countless tastings of different sauce creations (i.e., almond chipotle crema, nutritional yeast nacho sauce) and the curried meat. The food is creative here-you won't be bored! The owner recommended I order the following tacos: Pork Belly Taco Vegetarian Butternut Squash Taco Shrimp Taco (supposedly the best shrimp taco on the West side...according to the owner :)) The restaurant has plenty of seating inside as well as on the backside patio. The location is close to other cute bookstores and coffee shops, so MV G and G could be a stop on a long day in Mar Vista. Definitely, need to come back! Was directed to the MV Grab and Go by the kind host in the main restaurant across the street after taking a look at the menu and not seeing anything to my liking. I was feeling a strong taco craving and ordered two here. They were solid tacos, but I unfortunately wasn't blown away, and I had to endure some shady looks from my wallet afterwards. The Location: Clean and simple. It's called a "Grab and Go", but there is a decent amount of counter space for you and some friends to pull up chairs and eat. Outlets are available too. The Tacos: The tacos were pretty pricey ($4 each w/tax if i remember correctly). I did enjoy them, but they didn't justify the price in my opinion. The nastiest burrito Iv ever had, and I'm a huge Bay Area and LA foodie. The potatoes pieces were shriveled up and old, the sauce and chorizo was sour. I believe it gave me food poisoning. The cold pressed juices are pre made and sit there for awhile and get bad throughout the day. I don't know how they are allowed to sell juice that could potentially make you sick as cold pressed juices that are freshly made are supposed to be consumed within 30 minutes of making them. The broccoli mushroom taco was a bit spicy. It was probably my least favorite of the three. I think they should give the tacos as soon as they are made and not wait for the whole order to finish. That way it's all warm and the brisket wouldn't have been cold. Plus the wait was a bit longer then I expected. The plus is that it's all made fresh when you order, given the wait time. I was very disappointed with my first experience with the MV Grab and Go. I ordered a farro salad for $12.00. It was not worth it! The ingredients were fresh but, hardly any parm cheese (literally couldn't taste or see it) not enough pesto dressing which tasted good but, they are so skimpy with it. Grrrrr.... a few tomatoes and farro. I would have asked for more of everything except I "Grabbed it to Go". It could use more ingredients such as avocado but more importantly they gave me mostly arugula. So disappointed! I don't know if I will give it another try. Picked up two broccoli mushroom and two butternut squash corn nut vegan tacos. The flavors were tasty but the broccoli mushroom was my favorite. Scarfed them down in no time. Stopped in here on a friend's recommendation when I was visiting LA for the weekend and it did NOT disappoint. Surprisingly for a Saturday evening it seemed pretty empty but that definitely was not because of the quality of the food or friendly service. The pulled pork sandwich was PHENOMENAL with perfectly cooked pork and an amazing slaw on top. I also got a side of Mac & Cheese which was to die for (so creamy with perfect runny cheese). Hands down the best taco place in CA! I would describe each of their creations as a symphony of complementing flavors. Each one has at least 4 or 5 well thought out and tasteful toppings. You're not just getting a salmon taco. You're getting a melt in your mouth salmon taco with with some type of delicious apple/raisin chutney on top among other flavors. My top 3 favorites are the Salmon, the Carnitas, and the Butternut corn nut tacos. (Yes you read that right) The place has a very hip atmosphere, and the place outback where you can hang out is like a quiet secret getaway.
