My issue is, if y'all have been open since 9AM and you saw a booking come through, why are you not calling those bookings to let them know NOT TO COME instead of having them waste their time and money to get to you? There was also no solution for not having a car available. Not a "we've got additional options at another location" or nothing just We can put you on a waitlist! People don't rent cars for leisure, they rent them because they need them for a specific purpose at a specific time! I'm a Presidential Circle member, so I try to use Hertz as much as possible. The airport location frankly has waaaay more options when it comes to vehicles, but it's inconvenient for me to go and the fees are usually higher. Buckhead's fleet has always been consistently pretty good. I've never rented a dirty or old vehicle. They also try their best to give me the best car in the respected class. For now, this is the location I will continue renting from.

When I ordered the car online, I first saw a price that looked very reasonable. I was about to click the button but I saw a message suggesting I sign up for membership to get an even better price. So I went to do that, and when I came back to order a car the price had doubled. I was afraid it would keep going up, so I just went ahead with it. Then the next day I was still bugged by this so I called customer service. The guy told me I should be able to get the original price, but he couldn't do it -- I'd have to bring it up when I returned the car after my rental. He promised me that he made a note about it and gave me a case #. 2. Went to pick up the car. The "intermediate" class car I'd reserved was no available. The woman at the counter offered me a mini-van. I did not want that because a) I wanted a trunk b) fuel cost c) Don't want to navigate around with a mini-van. Only when I suggested I could wait did she investigate and say a car would be available in half an hour. It ended up being an hour, but I was given a compact. This is smaller than the Intermediate I'd reserved, but she refused to lower my rate and insisted I had ordered "economy." I have the email to prove she's wrong. 3. The trunk button on the remote did not work, but I could open trunk from inside the car. Not that big of a deal, but, just another detail. 4. I had reserved/pre-paid the car for 3 days and indicated a time I expected to return it. On that day, I realized I'd need to keep it a few more hours. The rental price is per day, not per hour. But I called just to be helpful to let them know I'd be a little late in case that impacted another customer. I was told by Avis Customer Service that I'd have to pay for an additional day. I had little choice, so I accepted this. 5. When I returned the car, this woman was very nice and professional, but told me she could not handle issue #1. That I should call customer service. But she said my problem happened to customers all the time and I should get a reduction in price. ALSO: she told me #4 was a lie and indeed I was not getting charged extra. So, good news, but the call-center customer service sucks. 6. When I finally got home I called customer service about Issue #1. I was told that there was no note promising a price reduction, so he could not help me. He told me he could escalate it, and a supervisor would reach out to me within a few days. Nobody reached out to me. In short: The car was fine, but you can't trust their customer service. Never use Avis.

As a licensee of the Budget name, Betterway does not answer directly to Budget Car Rental Inc., the nationwide US company you might think you are dealing with, and we their clientele should not be surprised if some of their policies and practices deviate from what we read on the website of Budget Car Rental, Inc.
