The establishment is super clean, but small so if you go during peak time then be prepared for a wait. They close at 2 so you have to find that sweet spot in the time to arrive to assure you're not waiting too long or are even able to get a table. The alternative is to do takeout which is just as good! It's fast, and the food is just as good at home as it is in the restaurant. The prices are reasonable, being that you're getting a great meal with good ingredients and supporting a nice little local business spot. Our food costs were $25-$19 per meal and it was worth it. Super tasty, and especially loved the chorizo gravy on the country fried steak!

I have been wanting to go to this café for a long time now it has been in my "Want to go" bookmarks for the longest time especially because they close at 2 PM so you really have to make an effort to go in the morning. I ordered the pancake flights on this day. Along with the bagel and lox. My friend ordered the kaarage. I love being able to order food together because we get to tax each other on our food. I did enjoy my pancake flights. It's something I would order again. I didn't really enjoy my bagel and lox. It needed a little bit more seasoning for my taste. I will maybe come back again.

I got the chicken karaage which was actually good but sadly the rice was mush. Our second youngest got the flight of pancakes and it looked delicious... she actually finished her food which she rarely does. The eldest got the kamaaina scrambled and it was just ok for her. My fiance got the Belgian waffles and she said it was nothing special.. she actually didn't even finish the one waffle. Food overall was ok. Price wasn't bad but at the same time, portion wasn't that great. For instance, the Belgian waffles only came with one waffle for $12 and to add fruits it's $3 per fruit which they don't top it with much. I'd probably rate it 3, possibly 4 stars if it was just based off the food alone. The service... kind of non existent. So we got seated and checked the menu out but it took a while till someone actually took our order. They only gave a small pitcher of water so it was really only enough for 2 people and even that took a while till someone refilled it. Workers didn't pass by our table very much and so I had to flag down a worker who was helping someone else in order to get water. Rarely do I ever think of not tipping at all but I thought about it here... in the end I did tip but in my honest opinion... I really shouldn't have caved in. Overall... I would go back for take out maybe but only if I'm already near there. Food alone I'd give them 4 stars but because of the terrible service I'd have to bring it further down. I personally would never dine in there again because of their service but takeout should be ok since you aren't going to deal with their service... just walk in, pick up. And leave.

Found this little hole in the wall spot for breakfast. My family really enjoyed eating here! Be prepared to wait depending on when you go but they get busy! Here are a few recs! Flight of the Pancakes, Loco Moco with fried rice (this is a big order) The food came out quick and the service was friendly.

This place is always busy! They don't have much tables and it's pretty small inside so expect a wait. Because of that we just ordered take out. The loco moco was good, I like how they didn't over cook the scrambled eggs. The French toast was a large portion but they didn't give any butter for it. The fried rice was just okay. Not sure if I would come back but this is a good option for breakfast.

Service was extremely fast. We were seated right away and our food came out hot and fresh. We ordered the kama'aina fried rice, the pancake flight, and the Kalua pork lomi tomato omelette. The kama'aina fried rice was filled with lots of meat: bacon, spam, ham, and Portuguese sausage. It was pretty good. The pancake flight was okay. Would've been better if I could choose the pancakes. Overall, the lilikoi pancake was the best! I didn't too much favor the chocolate taro-haupia or the cookie butta lava. The Kalua pork omelette was good, but I wish there was more meat inside. All the portions were very generous. The only thing we didn't like was that everything was overloaded with onions. And I LOVE onions, but even I thought it was too much. For that reason, my family didn't care too much for their meals. Overall, we had a fair experience. Seating is a little tight, but we were still comfortable. The only inconvenience was the bathroom on the top floor, which can be difficult when you have little kids.

If you want the definition of a hole in the wall, come here for sure but don't let the ambiance turn you off. When coming in the doors I was a little turned off by the looks of the place. It seemed a tad run down with everything not spotless, and deliveries piled up in the corner (not food). However, the food smelled amazing and the menu art quality on the walls was amazing. We stayed for the EPIC reviews it had gotten which is what drew us in. The food is incredible! Every dish was cooked to perfection and the flavors were on point. From savory to sweet they have it down. The fried rice moco loco was ENORMOUS and all of the meats were perfectly cooked - not a single dry piece throughout. The mushroom sauce was insane and the fresh mushrooms were amazing. The pancake flight looked delicious and my husband's pig hash was to die for. We all left full and happy but thirsty - water is tap and room temp. Outside of the negatives on looks - this place really is delicious so give it a chance.

It's a Saturday early morning and all the tables were taken. Well except for one-two seater which was perfect for me. As busy as they were, the staff was friendly and accommodating. It's a nice mom and pop feel with a pane of pexi-glass between tables. It feels like private tables. I had a cup of coffee served in a nice ceramic cup labeled with their name on it. I had a bowl of loco moco which was very good. The gravy was well seasoned and it went well with the white rice. The hamburger itself was flavorful and heavy, just the way I like it. I was here years ago and finally got a chance to drop in. I will be back soon to try other items.

This place was AMAZING! I'd eat here everyday if I could. Pancakes were amazing. All the food was well done and served hot. Phenomenal service. Our waitress even asked if we wanted to move tables to have more space for our food, it wasn't an inconvenience. I highly recommend this cafe!

Easily one of my favorite spots for brunch! The pancake flight here is mandatory. It normally features Taro-Haupia, Lilikoi, and Cookie Butta Luva, but my personal life hack is swapping one out for the Malasada style. That Malasada pancake is so ono! Because balance is key to survival, we always flank the sweet pancakes with an army of savory options - specifically the chicken fried steak, smoked meat, or a Benedict. Guarantee it's a flawless strategy that guarantees you will not need to look at food again until dinner time. I panicked a little when management changed earlier this year but the transition was seamless. They added new goodies but kept the classics exactly the same. Everyone here is fantastic, but Krystal is the undisputed MVP. She keeps the coffee flowing and manages to navigate our table even when we are deep in a pancake-induced trance. Go here immediately, just plan to nap right after.

First time here Came for breakfast n heard this place is good. Must be because there's a waiting list happening. We waited for only 15 minutes to be seated. Parking is a little tight because of the other business happening. Their food is great n close to home cooked style. I had the bento n it was good. The wife had banana Mac nut waffles n my daughter had the breakfast burrito. We all shared n sample each other's food n it all taste great. Place is clean. The girl who served us had great customer service and very polite and friendly. Now we will come back knowing it's a great place to eat

We've been to this establishment twice and it's been disappointing both times because like Chipotle they are stingy with their food. They have spoons to scoop the rice, beans, proteins and veggies but they don't give you a spoonful. It was disappointing watching them spoon the Kalua pork into my keiki meals. The amount of pork was slightly above the lip of the spoon (just slightly) and they proceeded to empty the spoon to where it was well below a spoonful. (The idea being better to give them less over a little too much??) I didn't ask for more because I didn't want them to charge me for "extra" protein. Paniolos needs to do better and give customers their fair share. Unfortunately I didn't take photos but trust that this place isn't generous with its servings. I've tried a Paniolos steak burrito and it was bland. You'd assume it would be full of flavor because it's sitting in seasoned juices but it wasn't. The Kalua pork was flavorful. Very flavorful, but not as juicy as I would like it. Bun was crisp, bacon added an extra touch to the burger making it more than average, delicious! __________________________________________________ Captain Messy Hands, Keeper of the Drip: 7/10 stepping into the smash burger arena for the very first time. Ordered the Village Smash Burger Double Angus patties, cracked pepper crust, mustard, bacon, lettuce, tomato, onions, American cheese, and their signature Village sauce. This thing came out looking clean, sharp, and locked in. First bite? I finally understood the smash burger hype. The patties were thin, crispy around the edges, and perfectly executed the way a smash burger should be. That cracked pepper crust gave every bite a nice little punch, and the sear on the beef carried the whole experience. No sloppy grill work here! This burger knew exactly what it wanted to be. Now let's address The drip. Or in this case... the lack of it. This burger leaned more dry than messy. Not Sahara desert dry and not dry in a bad way, just controlled. Precise. Balanced. The bun actually deserves respect here because it stayed soft, moist, and held together from first bite to last bite without collapsing under pressure. Structurally elite. But CMH lives for chaos. I like burgers that need a stack of napkins nearby. Burgers where sauce hits the wrist. Burgers that fight back. This wasn't that type of burger. And honestly? I still respect it. Final Verdict...A clean, well executed smash burger with serious crust game. Not a drippy monster, but a strong introduction to the smash burger world. __________________________________________________ The Premium Purists: 9.5/10 The Village Smash Burger is a trendy modern burger that still hits with nostalgic deluxe flavors. I was very impressed by this burger. To me it was luxury in every bite! The balance of flavors from the beef, seasoning, sauce and LTO was on point. Buns stayed solid throughout the entire experience. It's a smash so the patties were a little drier but to me the flavors made up for the lack of juice.
