This was probably one of the best meals I've had on Oahu. Everything we've tried here was really good. You can tell they put a lot of care into every dish they prepare. Everything looked and tasted amazing, even their coffee was so good. I think the dishes you have to get are the flight of pancakes, the Kalua pig hash and the corned beef brisket. Prices just a bit steep, or else I would've given My Cafe 5 stars. We shared two dishes: the flight of pancakes and hamburger loco moco with kamaaina fried rice. Both were delicious! The lilikoi pancakes were my favorite with a sweet and creamy topping. Ube pancakes were also really good, though my friend thought the Nutella pancakes were better. They're all great so it's just a matter of opinion. The loco moco was delicious. Hamburger patty is made in house, and I'm glad we got it with fried rice because it had Portuguese sausage. Sometimes restaurants skimp on the gravy, but I was happy that I pretty much got some gravy in every bite. Parking is pretty tight as the private lot is shared with several other businesses. I've been wanting to try My Cafe for a long long time. I had the cookie butter pancake, 1/2 order (just 1 pancake). I thought it would be really sweet but it wasn't and the cookie butter flavor was not overpowering. The 1 pancake was more than I could eat. I would eat this again Husband had the kamaaina special. Kinda expensive but honestly it was HUGE. husband could only eat half so it was worth the cost The restaurant is small so you probably have to wait but don't let that discourage you from trying this place. The service here trying to get in is always bad this my 3 time here trying to get in. Two different times we came an hour before they closed and they don't seat you. Only take out. Why have hours of business if you don't let people in for the last hour. Then today wanted 45 minutes to get in. Here the whole time responding to the text here. Then waited for someone to come seat us. Then when they came out they said your time passed. So I said can you just make us next. Then she said no it would be unfair to the others. Which I don't get since we already waited 45 minutes before them already. So then they told us if we wanted to put our names in again but it would be another 30 minutes. This place is so amazing. I've had their flight of pancakes and the fried rice every time I've gone and it's always been very good. The fried rice with all the different types of meats in it... just so amazing and the eggs on the top is a really nice touch. The flight of pancakes... I love all 3 of them. Mini cookie buttah luva, lilikoi, and chocolate taro haupia pancakes. I'm not the biggest fan of coconut but I still love the taro pancake in the middle. I've had the Cobb salad and the eggs Benedict's once and those were also really good. Definitely a good amount of food for just one person so I would definitely recommend sharing this stuff!! I still dream of their fried rice... with the beef patty, gravy and egg on top. I'm so glad I asked our server what the table next to us was eating because they were all eating the fried rice. The bad thing about this restaurant is the air conditioning and circulation and they must do something about this issue. A little hole in the wall in Kapolei that's worth the drive from town! The staff is friendly, It feels like your walking into a family members house ready to eat brunch! The Loco Moco fried rice bowl was as huge as our heads. An equal balance of quantity and quality. But, If you love Pastele you'll love the Pastele sausage breakfast! Cute little place with delicious food and friendly staff. The macadamia nut coffee and Malasada style pancakes were mouthwatering and would definitely bring me back next time I visit Oahu!! WE WILL NEVER BE COMING BACK I'm struggling to give this place two stars....but it earns the extra star due to the friendly staff once you get inside the restaurant. Everything else about this place makes a visit something you should reconsider. Their outdoor hosts are militant. They will not seat you until everyone is standing right in front of them and they are rude. Arrived with my son and my wife was parking. She asked if everyone was in my party was present and i said yes and said my wife is parking. She then made us stand there until my wife and kids arrived at the podium while seating other customers ahead of us. Horrible first impression and was a repeat of the one previous visit we made a few months back. After everyone is there, the host goes through her condescending "COVID speech" that is backed up by an entire bulletin board with every COVID mandate and restriction envisioned by the state and in addition the restaurant. The speech includes a "time limit" where they tell you the time you have to leave by....not particularly welcoming. Food was ok....kids liked the pancakes, wife liked the French Toast. Garlic Truffle potatoes are tasty but there's a pool of oil in the bottom of the bowl. The veggie scramble was bland and I would have sent it back but i was in a hurry and couldn't work for another order. Biggest reason to avoid...the prices. One veggie scramble, one short stack of banana pancakes, two sides of potatoes, two scrambled eggs, a side of brown rice with salsa, turkey bacon, and an ice coffee cost $80 DOLLARS. I was blown away...was tempted to ask if they were kidding. This is a good place for breakfast or lunch. I saw on social media a picture of their flights of pancakes and had to trust them for myself. Out of the three my favorite has to be the lilikoi one! Since my bf doesn't like chocolate they were nice to take out the chocolate chips in on of the pancakes. We also got the unko's smoked meat. That was ok for me, I wish it had more flavor. I've been wanting to come to My Cafe for a long time, they are known for the famous pancake flight. Today was a rainy day, and a perfect time to have a nice brunch. We went on a Monday and wait was about 40 mins, make sure you park at the 3 hour parking slot so your car doesn't get towed. We just hung out at Starbucks next door while we waited. I ordered the chorizo biscuit and gravy, I love biscuit and gravy which is quite hard to find in Hawaii, while the gravy and the potatoes it came with was delicious, I wasn't too impressed with the biscuit, I was expecting fluffy, buttermilk biscuit, instead I had these three, small round shaped biscuit, almost shaped like a donut hole? I was a bit surprised, it wasn't too bad but was dry and small. My significant other ordered the corned beef hash, which seemed popular, it was delicious. We also split the pancake flight, comes with three flavors of cookie butter, chocolate, taro haupia and lilikoi cream. The chocolate haupia taro was my absolute favorite, chocolate pancakes with chocolate chips, smothered in taro sauce and coconut flakes, it was heaven. I was shocked that the only milk they had for their coffee was half & half, soy, or almond milk. There was no "regular" milk of any kind (skim, 1%, 2% or whole). One member of my party got half & half which was curdled and they had to ask for a replacement cup of coffee. YUCK! There was no decaf coffee either, which is an issue for someone like me who can't have caffeine. I then asked for juice instead. My only options were orange or a couple of other canned juices (I forgot the brand but they weren't typical juice options like apple or cranberry). Without much in terms of drink options, I opted for water and was given a Dixie cup (literally a small paper cup) and a pitcher of water. I actually thought they were kidding. As soon as the food was ordered, another employee came by and announced our dining time was 1 hour and wrote the time an hour from then on a whiteboard on a divider by our table. Talk about feeling like you're under pressure. Not to mention it takes about 10 minutes for the food to arrive at your table but the clock has started ticking as soon as the order is put in. I had read so many great reviews on here, but it seems the only good part was the food. What My Cafe lacks in size, they definitely make up in quality and service. This is a cute local breakfast joint located in a strip mall near a Starbucks and a Texaco gas station. We were lucky to get a open table right away but they will ask you where you parked so you aren't towed. We looked over the menus and went up to order at the counter and pay. We were given a number card to slip in the condiment holder, so they can deliver to our table. Everything was delicious. The mini breakfast burritos hit the spot, the chorizo scramble was very tasty and the Malasada pancake was a great dessert. We got a half order (1-pancake) for $6.95, while a full order (2-pancakes) was $9.95. Service was amazing as everyone (hostess, counter, wait staff) really showed they cared about their work. The setup is a bit odd - you wait in line to get a table, but then the service is fast casual so you have to go back to the counter to place your order. This was our last stop of our weekend of eating and it ended on a great note. We arrived and there was ample parking. Keep in mind that they keep a close eye on cars arrival and time them. They're apparently notorious for towing cars that stay over their time limit. Upon entering they had a table big enough for our party of (4) and a baby. We were greeted promptly and given the specials of the day prior to sitting. Once we sat the hostess reminded us that breakfast and lunch were served all day....WHAAAT?!?!? We quickly scanned what's on the menu and put in our order promptly. I must say their service is quick. We were served our coffee within minutes and I'd say w/in 30 minutes of sitting our order arrived. The mister's sister and I order the egg benedicts with ham. She put in a request for extra hollandaise sauce. Their benedict is on thickly sliced, toasted sourdough bread with housemade hollandaise and served with breakfast potatoes. I've been wanting to have good benedict and they truly filled my craving. The mister order the Boneless Sterling Silver Kalbi Shortribs plate. Let me tell you...this was the first time that I heard of a Kalbi plate that comes with eggs. The mister said...it definitely was different, but he was pleasantly pleased. I had a taste of it and it was perfectly seasoned and soft. The only downside is explosion of kalbi sauce made me want kim chee. The mister's brother arrived a bit tardy, but that's ok because it gave us another reason to sit longer. He ordered the benedict with lox and a flight of pancakes. Let me just say...the pancakes itself were deliciously soft, buttery and the topping was an added oomph of flavor. Lilikoi was regular buttery pancakes with a duo of lilikoi sauces. The Chocolate Taro Haupia was quite interesting. A little different to have chocolate with haupia...but I'll say this....it might be a great "PMS" craving fulfillment. Cookie Butta Luva Pancakes was their regular buttermilk pancakes with housemade cookie butter sauce and cookie crumbles. This was a bit sweet for my sweet tooth, but definitely something to try. If you're in the Kapolei area, definitely give this place a try. I don't mind going back to try other menu items. Just keep in mind, they have limited seating, so if they're busy, expect to wait.
