The install crew (Matt, Todd & Kevin) was super polite/efficient and Cheerful even though they were installing in less than desirable crawl space conditions. Jesse was recommended to us by a friend to insulate our home that was built in 1960 when there was no code requiring insulated walls. He returned my call the same day and gave me the run down of how it all would work. He told me how to measure the square footage that would be done (he told me how to so the simple math) . He said it's smart to do this anyway because some companies will just lie and tell you you need more sq ft done and charge that (since you pay per sq ft. I liked his straight forwardness. We scheduled a day and his guy Anthony and his sons showed up right on time and were done in 3 hrs. After payment, I sent the sq ft and invoice back to Jesse thanking him for his great work and he even submitted our Gas Co rebate! These cats are a rare breed - honest, punctual and proud. While I was away when the crew came to do the work, Jesse and his team just delivered. Quick communication. Honest information. Quality work. Once they were up in the attic they moved around some ductwork to improve flow (one run almost had a 90-degree turn in it) and got to hanging radiant barrier and blew in R-36 (or R-38?). Today it's 97 and the coolest room in the house upstairs....is the large room where we had a majority of the radiant barrier installed. My wife and I are flabbergasted as to why this isn't the first upgrade EVERY homeowner does. Jesse even joked that we'd have him back to finish the other side of the attic once we saw the difference. Spot on. Calling him back today to schedule them to come back out and get our entire attic finished. Again. While 3 other companies were willing to charge me double after coming out for a "free" inspection, Jesse came out and saw after his inspection that the insulation wasn't properly installed. Called me up to the attic to show me the insulation and ducts were all new and in good condition. I don't normally post reviews on yelp, but Jesse deserves 10 stars for his service, professionalism, and integrity. My husband and I bought our house which was built in the late 70's this past spring and with the temperature cooling off we could feel the chill in the house. Jesse responded to my yelp request almost immediately providing helpful information. He works for himself and even said that he is not a salesman so he gave us a quote and recommended that we contact other companies for comparison which we did. Not only was his price fair he also offers a discount through the gas company. Jesse and his team arrived on time and worked efficiently. They also fixed the air vent in our guest bathroom which was pinched off and not providing any heat. As an added bonus they even helped my husband mount a new tv we just bought which was super helpful. We were the first house in San Diego county that they serviced so the rebate he offers is normally through SoCal gas and electric. Since we have sdge, apparently it is much more complicated to get a rebate through them. Jesse honored the rebate by paying us back directly from his own account!!We were so impressed. Excellent experience with My Insulation Guy. Jesse and his crew did everything he promised for the price he promised. He underestimated the square footage of our attic but only charged us what he quoted. We had a horrible smell coming out of the heating duct from the attic into our bedroom. They removed 3 large dead rats one of which was newly dead and located near the vent thus causing the putrid smell. They cleaned the entire attic, sanitized it, plugged all the holes where the critters were entering, put in new insulation and new ducts. It is so wonderful to not have that horrible smell any longer. I would highly recommend My insulation Guy. I'm a very happy customer. And...... they showed up then they said they would show up. Very pleased and the A Team was extremely efficient and took pictures while in the attic. They even fixed a couple of vents that had holes in them. No extra cost. I recently purchased a house in Palm Desert that had an undisclosed rodent issue in the attic. I wanted all of the insulation gone and all access points sealed. First, Jesse asked to see pics of the attic. After seeing them he fully described everything he thought would be needed. Jesse told me the day and time they would show, which was sooner than I anticipated. The day of, Matt and the crew showed ON TIME and texted about 15 minutes prior to their arrival. The 3 man crew removed all of the old fiberglass junk, after a thorough walk around the house, they sealed all of the areas. They checked all of the existing ducting, added screen mesh around the top vents in the roof and planned for a return visit in 2 days to add cellulose insulation. Jesse showed up to install the new stuff and to check the work of Matt's crew, which was awesome. He installed R38 throughout the attic and garage area. Can not recommend enough! Don't even bother getting other quotes. His prices are beyond fair and they go above and beyond the job. Extremely professional and ethical. And he files the rebate for you! I am pregnant and very sensitive to smells / dust. I wanted to make we had healthy air quality since the attic fan blew funky smelling air into our backyard and patio. I started calling around to learn about pricing and other businesses sales staff quoted me to completely remove all previous insulation, sanitize, rodent proof and blow new insulation. Jesse provided a quote right over the phone (which beat theirs by a lot). We live in Westminster which he said wasn't a problem and when he got there in person recommended I actually needed far less work and it would cost significantly less. WOW, when do you ever hear this when hiring contractors! His integrity and professionalism really made me feel grateful we were in good hands. I called several insulation companies to see if they do closed cell spray foam insulation. Every company I called told me they didn't do it, and did not have any information on who else I could call. It's always nice to work with small business. It's even better when the guy quoting you is the one doing the job. Jesse was the obvious choice. My wife and I have lived in our home here in corona for 1.5 years. Summer 2018 was brutal. Our ac unit is under powered. Turning that on is as good as blowing air out of my mouth with an ice cube in front of it. Our home would reach up to 95 degrees IN THE DAY TIME. We could run the air ALL day and it wouldn't drop below 87 in the house. Ridiculous. We have the same issue in the winter. If it's 45 outside, it's about 50 in the house. We've already had some cold days for Southern California standards this winter. One of the nights dropped to about 37 last week or two! Even if we ran the heater, it would turn off and turn right back on in 15 minutes. My wife is pregnant, and the last thing she wants is to be more uncomfortable. Jesse said, "You're like my ideal customer because you guys will definitely notice the difference since you have no insulation." Jesse was right. We basically had no insulation in our home. And I can say for certain that we are already significantly more comfortable now we that have our r38 insulation. Wow. It's 45 outside as I write this, and it's 65 in the house. We're not even running the heater. I'm waking up in the morning without freezing my butt off when I get out of bed. What a luxury. My Insulation Guy saved us this summer! At the beginning of summer, my house became an oven. While re-roofing my house I thought it would be a good idea to have the roofer install insulation. Big mistake! Too much insulation was installed incorrectly, covering the soffits vents and creating pockets of heat throughout the attic. I needed a professional to fix the problem ASAP. After calling a few companies, My Insulation Guy had the best solution and price. From the beginning, Jesse listened and understood what needed to be done. The insulation that My Insulation Guy put in helped prevent the heat from making the house hotter and stopped my AC from working too hard. But because my attic only has a crawl space, the batting at the edge of the attic covering the soffits vents couldn't be removed. It was impossible to reach them. In addition to insulation trapping heat in the attic, the color of the shingles was creating more heat. I knew that I was ultimately going to have to replace those shingles. A couple months later I decided to replace the shingles and call My Insulation Guy again to fix this nightmare once and for all. Jesse and his crew came out while the roofer had the roof off and they were able to fix the insulation covering the soffits vents. This job was complex to say the least.
