With everyone consuming all the bandwidth inside the house, we got tired of WiFi and decided to upgrade to wired Cat-6 cabling through the house. Len is a class act. I originally scheduled an appointment to take care of what I thought was a trivial plate replacement, and the more he looked, the more he realized it was going to take a bit more work than initially planned and would require some extra parts. I've worked as a sysadmin before so I knew he wasn't BSing me or inflating any cost. Best part? Despite blocking off time on his calendar with the intention of working, he didn't charge me for the first appointment, saying he'd only start the clock when he does actual work, and then he went and found the part we needed brand new for significantly less than we thought. When he returned, the work was finished quickly, and he even went out of his way to make sure he didn't leave behind any scraps, cable ties, zip ties, or plastic anywhere. There wasn't a single mark on any wall by the plates and his cable management in our admittedley cramped network closet was top notch. I would not hesitate to recommend Len to anyone who's considering doing anything related to networking. Len rescued us after our internet network went down. Someone else had built it who moved and we had no idea how it worked. Our satellite internet provider had an outage and it goofed up our network. Our home network has never really worked well and we finally decided to do something about it. We called Len and he arrived exactly on time and quickly set to work to understand the bowl of spaghetti we called a network. He started by first ensuring we had a clean, fast Internet connection, then re-established a lost connection to a NAS drive, then installed two access points so that we had full wi-fi coverage, and finally diagnosed a loop in our network that was causing performance issues. Probably more than what you want to know . . . so in simple terms I'd feel very comfortable saying Len is extremely capable at walking into a situation cold and figuring out what is wrong and how to fix it.
