I've been using My Pest Pros for about 10 years, back when the owner of the company would come out and do the treatments himself. He was great! But as the company has gotten bigger, I've noticed the techs doing the treatment have become average. My last visit, the price went up to $300 for a one-time treatment (compared to my neighbors who are paying $120-$150 for one-time treatments). [[HIGHLIGHT]]I paid because I've been loyal to this company.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] BUT when I was still finding bugs in our home after the treatment, I called to tell the customer service rep. That's when I learned that My Pest Pros no longer has a re-treatment warranty for one-time treatments (something that they've had for all my other visits). Our family had a positive experience with My Pest Pros (MPP) in removing a large hornet's nest (soccer-ball size) from a tree just above the driveway of our townhome. After looking at Yelp reviews and comparing vendors, I decided to try MPP as a first-time customer. Lots of pluses. First, Kayla (receptionist) was friendly and professional during the intake call on Friday to assess the problem, ask for the location of the hornet's nest, and provide an estimated time window on the next business day (Monday). We requested a one-time service payment option by check. Second, the staff person (Hunter) arrived on time (8:30am) and called me 15 minutes in advance. He completed the job in about 40 minutes by spraying chemicals to reduce the number of live hornets, sawed off the entire branch of the crape myrtle tree, and then cleared the entire branch with the soccer-ball size hornet's nest attached. Third, he explained we were lucky the hornets were not bald-faced hornets (which continue to attack you even after the nest is removed). Although it was $275 to complete the work, it was worth it to remove the hornet's nest and gain peace of mind. We would use their services again! read more

The guys did a good job. I had a couple of "mud nests" (wasps) in my condo unit's hot water heater closet (which is next to my balcony in an outdoor area). Just rating 2 stars though because it was pretty pricy considering the actual work done! $300 for less than five minutes of actual work ... The nests were small. There were no active wasps in there apparently (I had sprayed the two biggest ones myself earlier in the week.) The guys just sprayed them, knocked them down into a bag, sprayed again and that was that. I was told the charge was a "fixed rate" that took the warranty and supplies used into account. But the only "supplies" were a metal tool to knock down the nest and some spray. I can't imagine that's anywhere near $300 worth, and -- if you do the math -- the hourly rate for these guys works out to $3600 an hour! Seems a bit much. read more

I called MyPestPro's needing a termite inspection for a VA loan. I hired MyPestPro's for a Termite Inspection for the house and Shed as they were the only items on the appraisal, and thats the only thing that needed to be inspected. John came out and was very polite, and nice, he was not overly pushy as a salesman, which is a step above Terminix. He went through the House and Shed, and found nothing...Terminix stopped at the Shed, then wanted to charge me for a full new inspection even though there were supposed to do the shed in the first place. The problem comes in with the business practices outside of John. When discussing with John, we informed him the Shed and House are the only areas in the Inspection...but John continued to "inspect" other items not on the appraisal. He found a single hole in the back, not near any structure, with no other sign of a carpenter bee, and added that in the Inspection. Not sure if it actually was, but no big deal. The charge to remediate for it is $299...He informed me of what he would do which is remove the larvae, and spray, then I would need to fill the hole. That is ridiculous. Either way, had the area treated and filled not by them. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Called them back the same day (Friday) informing them that portion of the property was not supposed to be included, and asked for a call back to figure out how to either have the inappropriate areas removed or re-inspected. No call back[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Called Monday again, trying to figure it out, the call taker was not sure and had the call the office.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked to just schedule an inspection, and we can figure out the rest after, but I don't want to be delayed. She would not do that and said she would call me back with the information[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. They said they had to do a new complete inspection since they didn't do the work...Ok, I get it, but a full $99 inspection for the one single area that shouldn't have been done in the first place? Fine, whatever, I just need to get this done ASAP. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I asked to have it scheduled ASAP needing this done by the end of the month, and they were "full" for Tuesday and Wednesday, and the best they could do was Thursday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I would imagine if they called me back as requested Friday, I could have had this squared away Monday or Tuesday, instead of Thursday. We had the same experience as another reviewer. We called on a Thursday and got a quote. We called on Saturday to accept the quote, and was told to wait for a call back. We left a message on Sunday. On Monday we got our call back that explained that they only have an answering service on the weekend, there wasn't anyone from the company to answer our call. Also, the quote we received a few days ago would be at least 50% more money, and this second person said the first person misunderstood what services they offered. I then received an email stating that I had a $700 fee on my account. I questioned how that was possible, as we haven't used their service in 4 years. Company is a sham - call more than once and you will get more than one answer or price. Technician spilled poisonous powder all over the carpet in our nursery and suggested it wasn't a problem. Not happy with the service and tried to cancel but they refused. Also, the mosquito treatments only really lasted for a couple of days. After 1.5 month the mouse still exploring our home (I setup cameras), and the technician never bothered to use another approach. When I complained about their ineffectiveness intensive 1 month program they didn't issue a refund (or even a partial refund) and wanted to drag me into an annual contract (for a single mouse). Omg what great customer service!!! I'm truly humbled and appreciative of this company! My gf and I were in Arlington this week for 3 days and 2 nights. Staying at 3 star hotel and I noticed that I was the only one getting bug bites. Turns out to be bed bugs on my last night bc I couldn't sleep. This was a first ever experience. So I'm freaking out but trying to be calm. I start researching on Yelp to see what laundry cleaners and pest control people I can call to come in ASAP should hotel management not want to send in an investigator to asses the situation and our personal belongings. The guys at My Pest Pros have been excellent. When we first started having our bug problem they came out and had a look around the house. They explained in detail where the bugs would be, how they would come in and what they were looking for. Then they put down some poison and glue pads. They warned me that we would see an uptick in activity for a time and then it would get better. Sure enough that is what happened. But for the last year we have not had one critter inside the house. I sent the initial email to Pest Pros on Memorial Day. They were very responsive and provided me with a range of prices for their services. I scheduled the initial consultation for today. To my surprise, I was advised to get a new door sweep as that may be the entry point for the pests. There was plenty of bait/traps in my home that was undisturbed, so the technician didn't advise treatment at this time. He noted that if I still had issues after the door sweep was replaced then we could address additional treatment at that time. This honesty is unheard of. My experience is that there is always some estimate and folks are ready & willing to take money. I really appreciated the technician's integrity and if I do actually have issues again, I wouldn't hesitate to contact Pest Pros or recommend them to my condo board. read more
