Wonderful place-but unfortunately no longer in business. We miss Mary and Triston and those great burgers

Once we experienced the super-friendly service and delicious food, we understood what all the fuss was about. My wife had the Benedict and I had the biscuits and gravy and it was hard for us to choose which was better. The vibe was intimate and "down homey" and it felt like a neighborhood hang out. Don't miss your chance to have one of the best breakfasts at Izzy's whenever you are hungry in Coeur d'Alene

We ordered the spring salads with grilled chicken. It was ok. Not worth $17. Then they ran out of blue cheese crumbles and ran to the store. Sadly to say I never got them which might have added to the taste of the salad given it was supposed to come with them. We waited a very long time for our salads. And a very long time for the bill which I thought the might credit a dollar or two due to running out of blue cheese. But no. Just an apology. Indoor eating is very loud. So be prepared. Also the bathroom had no hand towels to dry my hands. Sorry to be disappointed. It might have been an off day as it seems pretty popular.

This might be the best kept little secret in downtown Sandpoint. Located conveniently next to the…read morebig public parking lot on Church Street, Joel's offers a good range of delicious burritos and other goodies. So far, all I've tried is their California Burrito, which is quite tasty, and not as greasy as CBs I've had elsewhere. Everything feels and tastes fresher in their burritos, where you get a definite crunch from included veggies like tomatoes and lettuce. Their asada is very tender and has a pot roast kind of flavor to it. And the burritos are enormous. My wife and I split the burrito and it was all I could do to finish my half. My son ordered a plate of arroz con pollo (all about the basics, this kid) and gave it two very enthusiastic thumbs up. They offer a walk up service counter with seating primarily in the outdoor spaces in front of and beside the building. The covered seating area was under maintenance or repair when we went, so you might grab your grub to go if it's raining or snowing. I forgot to see if they do any specialty drinks like Jamaica or horchata, but they absolutely have a self serve soda fountain with Dr. Pepper on tap which, when I think about it, is all I really need to know. We've technically been twice now, and would have gone a third time last night (Wednesday) but they were closed, so wifey and I went to Joe's Philly Cheese Steak place down the street instead (sorry, Joel). To out myself as one o' them $#*%ing Californians, this place was very much a taste of home, and it's nice to know it's nearby when those burrito cravings hit all at once. As stated in the opening, this place is right next to a big, FREE public parking lot and perhaps brisk walking distance to City Beach, the Cedar Street Bridge (shopping) and the Sandpoint Farmers Market (when it's going, anyway). Prices are about what one would expect for a roughly 2lb serving of burrito awesomeness, $12-$15 on average. Definitely recommended if you're in the mood for something fast, fresh and tasty.

We have been at this restaurant several times before and it never disappoints. We ordered the Mixed Grill again and it was amazing. The Chilean Sea Bass was cooked to perfection and the Curry Chicken was out of this world!! The rice, prawns, and green beans complement the dish perfectly. Our service was excellent and the ambience is always casual. Great food and a great atmosphere!!

And when it's a Greek restaurant on top of that, that's basically a recipe for perfection. You can smell this place from blocks away. By the time you get to the parking lot, you're already salivating in anticipation. Vampires be warned: you're not getting within a half mile of this place! Sure, not everything was perfect about our meal: the Sarmisak (garlic dip with walnuts and parmesan) didn't do much for us, and my wife ended up preferring my Bahce over her grill plate (I can't remember the name of it), so we ended up swapping dishes. The Turkish Cigars were a huge hit with both of us, although we both wished they were a bit larger. I'm not sure I quite "get" the running aesthetic going on here at "The White House", as well as their sister establishments "The Oval Office", "The Pentagon", and "The Capitol". I mean, I get the theme, but...why? I don't get the Why of it all. Regardless, it's immaterial. The food is awesome, and worthy of a President. Well, not our current President...but one of the good ones, for sure! The staff are efficient, somehow buzzing about all over the place, managing the chaos (this place was PACKED on a Saturday night), but still managed to be friendly, attentive and focused. And despite ordering two cocktails, two appetizers, and two entreés, our bill was somehow still less than $100, I'd say that you definitely get your money's worth here! Hell, we even took enough leftover back to our hotel to keep us fed almost the entire next day! In short, I would vote whomever is running THIS White House in for a second term...and a third...and a fourth!
