The $49 diagnostic offer appealed to me so I called and they sent an HVAC technician to come out to assess why the furnace blower was not working. The guy came out and said they blower needed to be replaced for $3000. I asked how did he know the blower was faulty and not the control board supplying power. He didn't provide a real answer and said that the diagnostic offer is just a visual inspection. Okay then why not make that clear in the advertised offer or mention it when making the appointment? Right away that dishonesty, makes it hard to do business together. I then asked for a quote and they brought in a sales guys pushing hard for me to sign that day. They were the first quote I got and honestly they probably gave me the best deal on paper but their sales pressuring and misleading diagnostic advertisement made it hard to trust them. I hired them to replace a simple spigot, a task so modest it ought to have been handled with the quiet dignity of a man sweeping his own porch. Instead, it arrived with the fanfare of a riverboat......and the results.......... of a leaky canoe. They quoted me with the confidence of a fellow who has rehearsed his lines that an access panel would be "the best way forward" concerning the drywall hole they would cut to access the pipes. Now, where I come from, when a man tells you the best way forward, you assume he intends to walk it with you. Imagine my surprise when the job was done in my absence, a great gaping hole was left yawning in my garage wall, and my wife was informed that patching it was my responsibility. It seems their definition of "best" was the one that required the least exertion on their part. For $700, I expected craftsmanship, or at least the illusion of it. What I received was the barest minimum of labor: a hole cut, a pipe snipped, a new spigot screwed in, and a spritz of sealant outside for good measure. I've done more complicated work before breakfast, and I'm no stranger to the kind of handiwork that makes a man sigh and say, "Well...it'll hold for now." DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I spent 13k for them to replace my unit. They messed up my wall, did not inform me that my outdoor and indoor units were larger than the available space, hardwired a thermostat with active listening features that must be manually turned off (which they did not inform me of). They did not properly connect the unit to the ducts and when I called to report an issue with the airflow I was told my new unit "is energy efficient" but they later found they did not set it up correctly. They also did not hook up my heat. I talked to 5 separate people who were all incredibly rude and apathetic. The hvac manager nick told me I should be thankful that they got me up and running--after I spent 13k for them to mess up my wall, leave an incomplete job, made me chase after them for a week and a half now to fix their mistakes. I called My Plumber Plus because I was trying to install a new washing machine and couldn't get the pipe connected to the hot water line to come off. The technician came out, barely attempted to remove it, and quickly told me the entire pipe would need to be replaced. I was quoted around $800 for the repair. I declined the service because something didn't feel right. The following weekend, my 65 year old dad came over and was able to remove the pipe himself without needing any replacement at all. It honestly felt like the company was more interested in upselling an expensive repair than actually helping solve the problem. The pipe going from the water supply to the toilet was leaking and needed a new washer, and a small leak in the shower also needing a new washer. The person that came over to check gave me an estimate of $1350. I almost fainted when I heard the amount. The work to be done may have taken one hour to do. My husband and I are senior citizens and could not have done ourselves. I called the office and spoke to a supervisor. He was rude and stated that the estimate was $1251 and that was the price and hung up. A day later someone else called me from My Plumber Plus asking me what had happened and I told him. Plumber wanted to do a leak detection first ($148) for some reason, then opened up area in room below, not protection of furniture or rug. Leak was confirmed to be a compression fitting put in three years ago was loose. New fitting and trap intalled in 15 minutes. TOtal price over $1000. Then he tried to sell me $1900 to put in a pressure reducer, that i later i got from Fairfax Water for free and put in by another plumber for $300. Big ripoff read more

They were quick to respond on phone and to come out in a timely manner However they do love replacing than repairing. The technician kept repeating how if i go for the repair it will break again and again and that replacement is the best option. Repairing cost was exorbitant!! On the plus side: My Plumber Plus was very responsive and sent someone out right away to fixed a very clogged kitchen sink. The technician was courteous and resolved the problem quickly. Getting someone out quickly and quick resolution is appreciated. BUT. . .prices are outrageous. I was originally quoted $750 to clear a clogged drain!! When I said that was too high, they applied military discount and another mysterious "courtesy discount." That brought total to a still ridiculous $618.00. The job took about 90 minutes total and no parts were replaced. $400.00/hour labor (on average) is simply not acceptable for a very basic issue. I know overhead and labor costs have increased and I don't min paying (a premium) for quick service. But this is really highway robbery. I won't use them again. read more

BLUF: My Plumber Plus can and will overcharge for their services and enroll you in $25/month priority club without full disclosure of terms with no hesitation nor remorse. I contacted My Plumber Plus to replace an existing refrigerator waterline from an existing shutoff which was noted by the tech Steven as "in great condition." For 55 minutes of work and a $25 dollar hose, I was charged $602 for a service that other similarly licensed and bonded plumbers in the Northern Virginia area would charge $150-$200. What was particularly galling is that the invoice lists charges for 14' of line installation when my refrigerator and sink are only 6' apart. It would be one matter if this was just the price that they charge for the service, but this was a clear overstatement of the work performed. Additionally, I was encouraged to sign up for their Priority Club program for $25 a month to receive a $60 discount on the work. It was not explained to me until I called the office to complain that I was told that this club required a full year commitment before termination otherwise the customer has to pay back any all all discounts received. Nowhere on their invoice is this club listed as an insurance premium with a deductible. We will see how good the supposed two year guarantee on workmanship is- a company with full faith in the quality of services and products they sell would not need to resort to such shady and deceptive practices. They advertise a $49 diagnostic charge then show up and tell you after the fact that the $49 is just a "visual inspection" and the diagnostic charge is actually $360 "if they have to use any kind of tools to sort things out." I was standing in a puddle of water. I already had the visual! Then came the shocker. They wanted over $6,000 just to swap out a tankless hot water heater and that was with me paying for the unit separately. $6K in labor for just a few screws and a couple of fittings. Complete lack of integrity. My Plumber is the worst of the worst. When a plumber shows up to fix a leak they shouldn't soak you again. My advise is STAY AWAY. This year, 2024, I have placed two calls to My Plumber Plus for immediate service to my upstairs bathrooms. The first call was aimed at repairing a constant drip in the master bedroom shower unit (March 21) and a second call was related to a slow dripping under the sink in upstairs hallway bathroom (April 11). In both cases Austin Everett was dispatched to our home, and he promptly identified the cause of trouble and fixed it within minutes. ATTENTION: ESPECIALLY SENIORS and all others who may be considering using My Plumber. I went for this job hook, line, and sinker. I called My Plumber to clear (snake) the drain and replace our disposer. I signed the quote for less than $1,000 with the caveat from My Plumber that he may have to move the existing trap (estimate $200.00) to accommodate the larger 3/4 HP disposer shown below). The Rep proceeded to re-route the trap, install the disposer and snake the line. But ran into difficulty because "the snake went up the pipe, when it should go down the pipe". After considerable effort he said he would have to remove the drywall to drill a hole through the pipe in order to route the snake down the pipe (shown below). I paid the Rep $1737.00 and thanked him! A few days later I called My Plumber to get a line item list of services provided that generated a final bill of $1,737 and received an email that included line items and description: Diagnostic fee: $180.00 Furnish and install new 3/4 hp garbage disposal: $957.00 ( the Emerson InSinkErator Model Pro 750-2 can be Googled for $369.00) Furnish and install new pvc sink trap: $200.00 Snaked kitchen sink drain line (had to cut open wall at the tee and drill pilot hole so the snake cable could clear the stoppage; sealed the pilot hole and tested drain thoroughly): $500.00 Total Bill= 1837.00-$100.00 Senior Discount= $1737.00 My initial approval was for a job less than $1000.00 and paid $1737.00 for the services provided which represents more than a 75% increase over the signed estimate. After asking for the line item and complaining to My Plumber, he/she credited our account two weeks later for the Diagnostic Fee of $180.00 My fellow Seniors beware; my advice if you choose My Plumber is to obtain a detailed line item quote up front before electronically signing for the services. Called to have my bathroom sink unclothed. Reached out to My Plumber and had a technician out that day. Tech proceeded to snake the line with his drill motor and 4-5 foot snake. This did not work, so the tech removed the snake and dropped black dripping on my throw rug. Tech then went to his truck for more tools and a drop rug. Tech still could not clear the line and stated the line would need to be 'jetted' or the plumbing lines replaced. I was very impressed with Bill Turgeon when he arrived at my residence on Thursday, February 9, 2023 to do a yearly inspection on my furnace. He indicated that I needed an air scrubber replacement bulb, and left my residence to go and pick up the replacement. My plumber was called to inspect/repair water heater, upon arrival he manufactured a leak that would have no bearing on the water heater operation. I should have read reviews first. Do yourself a favor and find another plumber. The visit to estimate services is $70 (which is later deducted from services if you decide to use them). We needed to replace a toilet and replace a single cold water shut off valve under the sink. We had already removed the tank so I could paint the wall behind it before installation. The estimate? $480 to install the toilet (which was $190) and $287 to replace shut off valve (a $15 part). The tech was here 10 minutes....I showed him the door. Robbery. I wonder how much of their income is from consumers paying $70 for joke estimates while the plumber never actually does any work. I can't imagine what the estimate would have been for an emergency! Since I had joined their so called club I was saving a lot of money since a non member would be paying about $2400+ which would be approximately120 pounds of refrigerant.
