I'm stuck going here because Medicaid says they pay a part of the cost. I got the eye exam and picked out frames and bifocal lenses. The glasses arrived a week before my daughter's wedding. Yeah. I wore them for a few days but they kept slipping down my nose. I went back twice. The bifocal part was way too high as well. I had to use other glasses at my daughter's wedding. There are other My eye dr locations but the reviews aren't that much better. I paid 400.00 for really crappy glasses. I definitely do not recommend them. read more

Great staff! Very kind and fun to talk to. Great selection. Wait times are never awful. The location is very clean and comfortable to be in for the time. You're there getting your eyes checked and selecting glasses. If you need them, I would have to sign of all the years. I have gone here. My only complaint would be some of the customers are male and female. Karen's. Maybe it's just the side of town but some customers just seem overly hostile for no reason But the staff always does an amazing job keeping the atmosphere fun and calm. read more

I went to get my eye exam & glasses at MyEyeDr on Independence Blvd on Jan 27th & got my glasses yesterday Feb 7th, a week early. After a year of eye strain headaches in a set of useless progressives I got last year, I signed up for VSP & took a shot on a new eyeglasses shop that I drove by every day on my way home from work. And I'm so glad that I did. I can honestly say, after 24 hrs in my new glasses, it was SO worth it!! No more headache, and I can read the phone the tablet and a book in hard print, all without taking off my glasses like I had to before, plus see better to drive at night to work as well, in these glasses. Yes, I got the best progressive lens that they offered, and the premium VSP plan. And it was the best decision that I've made in 2022. If you are in your fifties, and given up one having one set of glasses that can do it all, think again. And try out this shop. read more

Terrible customer service, don't honor a late grace period! I arrived to my appt 3 minutes past the grace period because of traffic and they were unable to honor my appointment. Office is very small and is not up to date. Extremely poor service and dishonest management. The eye exam went well then a high pressure sales person who turned out to be the manager that choose the frames and ordered two pair of glasses that totaled north of $1200. When they arrived, I got a text message informing me that they were ready to pick up. After I got home I discovered that the case containing prescription sunglasses I ordered had lenses but no frame! I double checked my receipt and saw I did order and paid for them. When I returned, she checked her records and saw I was correct and told me they would have to look for them and if they couldn't find them they would reorder them. I asked how this got by any quality control check with such an obvious blunder and she had no good answer. I told her not to bother, I put everything they gave me on the counter and said I want a refund. She said it doesn't work that way she would call me after they looked for them and let me know if they found them and if not, they would reorder them. I don't answer the phone during work, but she can text or email me. SHE LIED TO ME AND SAID "THAT'S AGAINST HIPPA REGULATIONS, WE CAN'T DO THAT, THE ONLY WAY IS FOR ME TO CALL YOU, WHEN WOULD BE CONVIENIENT FOR ME TO CALL?" If that were true, how was it Ok for them to text me the first time? I had suffered headaches and noticed the new glasses that did have the lenses actually made my eyesight worse than my old ones and couldn't be trusted. There obviously wasn't any QC check at all. I paid over $1200 dollars, wasted a huge amount of time for a bag of worthless garbage I can't use or trust. read more

I'm having the absolute worst experience ever. I've been going to this location for 30 years. Yes! 30 years. Dr. Miffelton, Gayle, Angela were all AHMAZING!! I've never seen a more unorganized, unqualified team of staff. I had my eye exam on 12/31/2020, as of today, 5/4/2021 I'm still waiting on the correct contact prescription. Dr. G and the manager Jen are the worst! Yesterday after voicing my complaints I was placed on hold for 21 minutes only to be hung up on! Terrible service!! Pros: Eye exam was fine Cons: Ordering glasses If you are going here because you have VSP look elsewhere. I was able to get a better deal using out of network benefits at lenscrafters and received my glasses same day. Going to MyEyeDr. expect a 2-3 week turn around time on glasses. I was also over charged over $80 for extra warranty and coating that I did not ask for. When the glasses finally came the frame was damaged and the lenses were non genuine even though I specifically asked for G15 lenses when ordering. They will not accept returns even if you deny the merchandise as unacceptable. read more

Worst experience ever and I won't be returning. During my child's exam, they asked if she wanted them to dilate her pupils. She told them to ask me. They left the room, did not ask me, came back and proceeded to dilate her pupils. She assumed that I had given permission. She is a child and they SHOULD have asked me as she told them to. Very deceptive. Then THEY PUT HER OUT THE BACK DOOR On INDEPENDENCE BLVD ALONE. ( I had an exam that day too) and only found out that she was outside alone because she called me from her cell. Thank GOD she has one to make that call before someone snatched her up!!! The reason they put her out the back door..... because you can't go out the front door because you could catch corona. Liars! Going here is like dealing with car salesmen. High pressure to buy their products. I came in to get glasses and contacts. It has been years since my last exam. After they completed my exam, I was helped by a sales rep, who turned out to be the manager. She gave me trials and straight away she had me order a years worth of contact lens I've never heard of or tried before. I told her I wanted to shop around for prices because I was tight on money and not just that but to make sure the trials suited me. She said I needed to order today because my benefits will only be available today and if I wasn't happy with the trial, I can return my order for refund. Being ignorant, I believed her and ordered a year supply. She had completely ignored that I was also wanting glasses until I reminded her that I was here for glasses too, not just contacts. She gave me a few mins to look around but said that I can get the glasses anytime I want and my insurance would still cover them. I should have linked that piece of info with the contacts but I didn't. So anyway, I ordered my contacts and left. A month later, I finally found the glasses I want but when I wanted to order it, my insurance said I had already used my benefits. They only covered contacts or glasses, not both. This freaking eye clinic LIED to me. I would have saved more money if I ordered my contacts else where and this place knew it so they lied to get my money. If this is how the manager acts, just imagine the rest of the staff. I will never ever recommend them or this chain to anyone! Please do yourself a favor and go to a private clinic, not this infested chain clinic who only cares about money. read more

One of the most pleasant Dr visits I've ever had. The entire staff was friendly, upbeat, personable and knowledgeable. Both the Doctor and Nurse took their time and were more than happy to answer and explain in layman's terms any questions I had. I felt like they really cared about me personally and weren't trying to rush through to get to the next patient. The girl that assisted me in picking out frames was very honest about what looked best and what want so flattering. She really doesn't a lot of time making sure I got the right frames and did not push high end designer frames with huge price tags. Another perk is that they accept many insurances, more than any other eye doctor I found. I highly recommend My Eye Dr to anyone in need of vision correction. You will not be disappointed!
