I recently went to this office and was fit with the new multifocal contact lenses, I would be happy to let anyone know about that the convenience of the contacts. Some examples: No more double trips to the store because I have forgotten my reading glasses, and can't read labels. No need to lug my glasses around with me when I am working in the yard to read instructions on power equipment. I can easily read instrumentation on my vehicle dash board. These are just a few examples. Many years ago I unsuccessfully tried contacts for a couple of years. I met Dr. Gandolfi about 5 years ago, and it has been life changing. In short, my quality of life would be lessened without the contacts that I have gotten at My Eye Expert. Not only am I completely satisfied with my contacts, Dr. Gandolfi has raised the bar for what I can expect for patient care. I was sitting at home last night (sheltering in place here in Gurnee IL) and all of a sudden the lens on my rimless glasses broke where the clear plastic retainer fits at the nose. I tried calling my eye doctor's office this morning to get them repaired but, due to the Coronavirus situation, they were closed. This morning I called My Eye Experts, and they were open! The young woman I spoke to said that they could look over the glasses and would try to fix them. Parked for 'curbside' pickup...and about 5 minutes later she came back to my car with them fixed!!! I asked how much I owed and there was no charge! I would have gladly paid whatever amount needed. I am feeling so grateful for this very helpful service received and I will be moving my business to them when I need my next pair of glasses sometime this year! My family has been seeing both Dr. Gandolphi and Swafford since they had an office in Walmart... Has to be alteast 15 years. My husband and my kids have all worn glasses/contacts, so alot goes into picking out just the right pair and they always made sure my kids got stylish glasses that made them happy yet dureable which made me very happy! When they left walmart it was never an issue for us; We were going with them; because they had ALWAYS treated us so well. Loved Loved Loved my visit with My Eye Xpert, the staff was friendly and a joy to be around. My visit was for both myself and my 10 year old daughter who loved the office environment as well (as soon as she went home she told her dad "I have the coolest eye doctor ever")! Dr. Swafford did a great job of communicating with me in regards to the concerns I had with my eyes, as well as listening to my daughter (although not all of her conversation had to do with her eyes). Everyone was very professional and helpful, and the equipment was very up to date. The office was clean and decorated very well, I don't think I've ever been so impressed overall with any optometrist visit in the past. The eye glass selection was a bit pricey and I wish there was a greater selection of more affordable eye wear but with that being said I would still refer my family and friends! I love My Eye Xpert!! when you first walk in you are greeted by many of the staff members all ready to help right away. i was imediatly checked in and given the choice to either look at glasses or sit in the massage chair room (yay). when i was taken to do my pre-tests everything was explained to me and if i had questions i wasnt made to feel stupid for asking them. when we got to the additional texting room the girl in there explained everything to me and then told me right away that it was an additoinal price and when i declinded it she didnt pressure me into getting it. the wait to see the dr wasn't very long at all and while waiting i got to go into that massage chair room again. when i did finally get to see the dr he was polite and conversational with me and didnt make me feel like a dollar sign. i will continue to go there for all my glasses and contact needs. read more

My Eye Xpert is an absolutely wonderful facility with great staff and thorough, professional services. Every time I enter the facility I am greeted by warm welcomes from the ladies up front and leave every time with a smile on my face! The doctors are fun and personable and I actually enjoy my experiences there. The frames they offer are beautiful and classy; I spent nearly an hour or two just trying to decide between my favorites (too many good choices, I couldn't decide!) The young woman who was assisting me (Courtney, I believe her name was) was not only knowledgeable, but super sweet! She was patient and helpful as I tried on pair after pair after pair... it felt almost like a fashion show lol we maybe had too much fun. I have been to My Eye Xpert a few times now and everyone from the front desk staff to the examination technicians to the doctors themselves are consistently friendly and helpful. The space itself is bright and cheerful - and they are known to throw great themed parties and trunk shows for guests from time to time! As far as the actual eye examination: I have very sensitive eyes and gave had trouble with contact prescriptions and brands in the past. The staff at My Eye Xpert were very thurough in my examination and very helpful in finding the right product for my needs. As an added bonus, they have a fantastic selection of designer eyewear (both day frames and sunglasses) that I found myself perusing though I don't end up wearing my frames all that much in my day to day. I used to see Dr. Gandolfi at Walmart years ago. I had Lasik done 10 years ago in Chicago by another doctor. For 10 years I had wonderful vision. But, unfortunately my Lasik needs to be tweaked. Instead of going through that, I have decided to try out contacts again. I have dry eyes like my mom. Thankfully, Dr. Gandolfi has been very patient in trying to find a set of contacts that will work for me. I have tried 4 trial versions and had 4 appointments. Each time his #1 goal is to help me find the set of contacts that will work. He is very patient and kind. I also bring my children to see him and he lets them ask all of the questions they want and he explains everything in a kid friendly way. Sometimes, they have popcorn and water, how fun! I spent a good amount of my professional career managing sales people and if I was still doing that I would probably try to steal her away and hire her myself. She is such a warm and friendly person who gets it done. A total keeper. I will be honest and say I came in pretty closed and a little stressed. She had me relaxed in a couple sentences. My Eye Xpert is the best eye doctor I've ever been too, and I've been to a lot of eye doctors. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgable. They answered every questions I had and are dedicated to finding the best solution for you and making it work financially. They find ways to make your insurance work for you and not the other way around. I saw Dr. Gandolfi, and he was amazing! He walked me through all of my contact options, the best ones he thinks are out there and will work for my dry eyes. My son had recommended My Eye Xpert, so I thought I would give them a try, that was 4 years ago. I have never been disappointed with their service - everyone in the office are very friendly, accommodating, professional and warm. When I have had issues with glasses or contacts they have been "johnny on the spot" to get my problem corrected. This was my first time visiting My Eye Xpert. It had a very comfortable and home like atmosphere. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming. As soon as I walked in, somebody selected a number of frames for me to try on. I loved the room with the massage chairs and the fish tank with beautiful fish to look at while I waited. The wait time was not very long. Dr. Swafford and the other staff that helped with my eye examination were very professional and put me at ease. Everything was explained thoroughly to me. I had been out of contacts since shortly after the pandemic began. My regular eye Dr has been closed for 2 months. I called a couple places that have limited hours and they could get me in a couple weeks out. My Eye Xpert was able to get me in the same day, a half hour after I got out of work. They saw me right away, Mike and Dr. Safford were great, they had sample contacts, ordered my year supply that would be delivered to my house plus a rebate. The ladies at reception made checkout fun. My Eye Doc was recommended to me by a fellow VCG member because of their technology. I went and was sooooo happy with every aspect of the experience I took my 75 year old mother last week for her first visit. The news was not good but was delivered to her with compassion.
