This place has far surpassed any eye exam I have ever received. Not only were they very nice and open to my relentless questions, but they also worked with me to try to get me in the right contacts (something I have struggled with for years). Additionally, the woman who helped me pick out my glasses must have spent over an hour with me going through each style that I may or may not like (probably like 50-60 pairs of glasses... believe me, I am VERY picky). In the end, she helped me pick out a style that was absolutely perfect for me. It was something a little bit out of my comfort zone that I probably wouldn't have normally chosen but it was absolutely what I needed. I have gotten so many compliments on these glasses since then. Once all was said and done, and she sat me down to work through my insurance stuff, I was also offered an IPA! How delightfully Portland! This place is top notch! And the icing on the cake? They sent me a handwritten thank you card about a week after I picked up my wonderful, shinny new glasses. This place is seriously amazing. I've been wearing glasses since I was eight years old, so I've had my fair share of eye exams and experiences with different eye doctors. We moved to Portland and I was in need of new glasses, so after some browsing around the Internet, I chose Myoptic based on their reviews, and I'm glad I did. This is by far the best, friendliest, most high-tech optometrist I've ever been to. Everything about my experience there was great. They have a machine that takes a detailed picture of the inside of your eye, so you don't have to have your eyes dilated, and they'll even go over the picture with you afterward. No dreaded machine that puffs air in your eyes, either. They even had me fill out the paperwork online, ahead of time, so all I had to do when I got there was verify that everything was correct. It was the most hassle-free eye exam I've ever had. The staff was friendly, positive, and knowledgeable, with no uncomfortable sales pressure (unlike my experiences with my previous optometrist, in Georgia). I really can't recommend these guys enough. Almost two years ago I bought a pair of titanium German made frames and lenses from your store. I'm very hard on glasses, constantly removing them, etc. during the next two years my frames needed various tightenings, new nose guards etc. A gentleman at your store (Tristan) was always there to help. Tristan knew what he was doing, was easy to work with and always took care of my problem. I recently came in for new glasses and once again Tristan took excellent care of me. I love that all the staff wearing masks and checking everybody with their temperature and making them washing their hands and I'll making me feel safe. I won't give them a rating for they don't deserve one. I am writing this with their no good and very blury two pair of glasses now going in saya 6mo. About 5 wks. ago I went in after a oh a 4mo. adjustment time to say your glasses are blurry. I went to the one Burnside? Near the New Seasons Store. All that mr. Kim wanted to do was repeat the eye exam AND charge me. I said and common sense would say repeating an eye exam with that flip flop window thing is a waste of time and we need to go beyond this to find out why I am seeing blurry. I won't even call him a dr of anything. He got frustrated with me, didn't like the fact I was saying I only saw the shape of the letters the first time in to say what the letters were and not because they were clear to see. I was choosing between blurry and less blurry and I said that to him in the first vist . And a 4mo.adjustment was gracious on my part to come in. I allowed this for I have very bad eyes. All he could rant on me was how I was this charity case and I was AND I paid for the second pair out of pocket AND I will go out and pay for the other glassed AND the office visit while your ranking on me on your ego good smaritan status AND not wanting to get to the bottom of the why reason I can't see clearly with YOUR eye exam and prescribed glasses after now a good 6mo. latter? Mr. Kim just kept going on to what a nice guy he was and ignored my concerns over my eyes and forced to wear blurry glasses and get by over these months nor concern that I still had to after leaving that office. His parting words to me was, "You will never see cleary again" And felt I was offensive towards his "expertise" for he asked me this question. "If you had any I would be able to see." Upset to his only caring for his ego and pride and giving me charity, I upset and frustrated to know I will continue to see blurry, I walked out crying. I fall and trip, My range of motion/direction is dangerment to me. I can't see distance or close and am without self protection in the wearing of these very blury glasses he, Mr. kim made for me. I sit here writing in the blurry glasses, I don't know what to do and I want to see CLEARY or at least to be told why I CAN'T and lets go from there to give as corrective vision as I can get from that point. He, Mr. Kim rather send me back out endangering me to every day life that I have lived with the prior 4mo. to finding the root cause and helping me. I DON'T reccommend him and he's awful and it was ONLY about him and he being RIGHT. He refused my payment in full for the first office visit and for both pair of glasses. read more

I usually go to the cheap glasses shop. 2 for $69. Both that I can't see through. I noticed right away Myoptic was different then my usual experience. Lisa was so nice helping with the initial tests. She was super helpful and patient. Then I saw the Doctor Allen Kim. He took his time and answered all of my question and concerns. I felt he gave me a very thorough exam. He was able to let me try on the prescription right then with special lens he has, which put my mind at ease the prescription was correct. When done, Lisa helped me pick out frames that were perfect for me and also was friendly and pleasant to talk to. After two weeks I picked up my new glasses and they are such a help with reading call numbers at the library where I volunteer. Lisa also wrote me a nice note thanking me for coming in. I have to say, I did spend more money then I usually budget for glasses but I think it was money well spent, since glasses are something I use everyday. read more
