The pad see ew is LEGENDARY - literally the best we've ever had in our entire lives! We order it every single time and always grab a side of their potsticker sauce because it's that good! EVERYTHING is incredible - drunken noodles, chicken satay, fried rice, egg rolls, potstickers, spring rolls, curry... all amazing. A family favorite. My tie is actually becoming my Thai restaurant. We've been back a couple times since my first visit with a group and really enjoyed everything that we've ordered. My new favorite thing there is the coconut shrimp which I love and the coconut shrimp here rivals Tommy Bahamas coconut shrimp, which is the best I've ever had right now they're a tossup which one is better. I also enjoyed ordering the Frank Annette sparkling wine to accompany my food because its nice light flavor doesn't interfere with the delicate Thai flavors. I've been here with three different friends and they all ordered the boxing chicken. The chicken is moist and well done with delicious light Thai flavors. The dinner version is maybe twice the size of the lunch version so you get a very hearty dish. My favorite entrée is the pet Thai the traditional Thai dish with shrimp and it comes to the generous portion of shrimp. The noodles are sweet and savory, and not too spicy so it makes her a delicious meal. This place is one my boyfriend kept trying to introduce me to, but we never quite made it until last night. After having dinner, I can't believe this place isn't PACKED. The food is amazing, and they don't give you TONS of it, which I kind of appreciate. The Pad See Ew is the best I've ever had, hands down. Perfectly seasoned and full of broccoli, tofu, and egg. The green beans were crisp and delicious, and the pork was amazing according to the boyfriend. I forgot to take a photo of the fresh rolls, but they were great too! We ordered takeout so we could enjoy dinner at home, and we chose what should have been plenty for four people: four dishes to share and two orders of rice. When we opened the steaming, delicious‑smelling containers, we expected them to be filled--that's the whole point of takeout for a group. Instead, the portions were shockingly small. The containers weren't even full! We had to specifically ask for vegetables in the curry dishes when we ordered; otherwise, they would have been nothing but sauce with a few pieces of shrimp or chicken. Since we were hosting guests, I served myself only a tiny amount so everyone else could have more. Even then, it felt more like a light snack than an actual meal. We ate every last drop because there wasn't much to begin with. It was embarrassing. This was our second time getting these doll‑sized portions, and it will definitely be the last. Ding, ding, ding! I think I've found my favorite Thai restaurant in SLO. We ordered the yellow curry with tofu (my go to order) and it was delicious. We got it in medium spice and usually, we debate whether to get medium or spicy but MyThai did the medium right. It had the perfect amount of spice and absolutely devoured it. I have been eating here for several years and have always loved it, but on 9/5/25 I went with friends who we had been raving to about how good MyThai was, and sadly, it fell short, and we feel embarrassed about saying it was great. We felt like everything was rushed instead of allowing us to relax and enjoy our time there. It seemed that the dishes were filled with more bell peppers than noodles or other vegetables and proteins. There was also not a lot of flavor differences between the dishes we ordered. Absolutely delicious Thai food. When I'm traveling I always seek out Thai food on my first night because it's usually one of the quickest and most convenient cuisines out there. Went with a friend to this really cute restaurant by the train tracks. Greeted as soon as we came in and were served water and the menus. I hadn't realized this was a vegetarian place until after I had eaten my Orange Chicken and my friend told me I was not really eating chicken. It was so delicious. Not my best Thai experience. Expensive. Sate sauce was grainy. Service was lackluster in uncrowded restaurant. Pork pieces overcooked, resembled shoe tongues, up-charged for rice which should be complimentary. Ironically, is across street from monument to Chinese rail-workers who helped put SLO on the map. Fantastic! Everyone was so nice and the food was very good. I got the basil and substituted an add on ground chicken. I'm use to eating it that way and it really makes the dish taste better! The manager was totally open to making it for me which I really appreciated and the tables next to me wanted it too after seeing my food. Every time I go in here, the food is always consistent. What a deal on the lunch specials. Restaurant is super clean! The menu has a little bit of everything to choose from. I was onboard Amtrak's Coast Starlight to Seattle, and we were making good time. The conductor informed us that we were ahead of schedule, so we would have a bit of extra time at the stop in San Luis Obispo, but they'd be outta there in 25 minutes. We bolted out of the train and looked for anywhere that looked like it'd have a decent meal. Nothing against Amtrak and their industrial strength microwaves, but, I needed something that was going to hit the spot more than a processed cheeseburger. Unfortunately for us, we had arrived in town at a time of day where everyone else had closed. Except for MyThai. We told the dude we needed our to-go meals cooked in under 10 minutes, and he was like, "No problem at all." Pad thai and filet & shrimp fried rice to go. Even got a beer while I was waiting, and the man was not kidding. We were outta there with time to spare. We dug into our food, and were very surprised. We hit the jackpot. The grab and go Thai food that we picked up was miles beyond our expectations. The pad thai had a great balance of sweet and savory, and the noodles weren't brightly colored or anything. The filet and & shrimp was amazing, as well. Cubes of tender steak that were seasoned just right, didn't even need additional soy sauce. Everything was great. Look, I can't recommend that you try the same stunt we pulled, because having to catch up to the train would be a huge bummer, but it sounds like you're gonna be pulling in with some time to spare, maybe call ahead and place an order, cuz man, this really hit the spot. I saved some of it to eat a few hours later, and it still made me happy. Excellent authentic Thai food-My girl and I were in Thailand foe a month, and we marvelled at the food. Fresh, inexpensive , healthy, and delishous. WE have beem here several times , and will be back. Make sure to get the "sauce caddy", it's a 4 banger hotsauce dealie that holds 4 different kinds of "hot". I have always enjoyed dining from My Thai. Staff is always polite, I have discovered some new thai dishes I enjoy, and unlike probably my favorite Thai restaurant In SLO, My Thai has spacious indoor dining room with good table service. Most of the staple thai restaurants items are as you would expect and know, but probably played in a nicer way, and as good or better than you would be expecting. Noodle dishes are all very good but I am luke warm on their version of pad thai, but live several of their other noodle dishes. I have also enjoyed all of their soup options. Yellow curry and roast duck curry are also very good, but my very favorite curry dish here use to be their Panang curry, but I cannot recommend it now, unfortunately My Thai has changed their recipe to something I really dislike. It is more of a brown 'Golden Curry' tasting curry, not the wonderfully flavorful modified version of red curry I love. So if you like Panang curry, skip it here, I'm sure you will be as disappointed as I was. Appetizers are very good, fantastic peanut sauce to for the Buddy rolls (fresh wrapped rolls) and chicken satay. Spicy Eggplant is also fantastic. The lunch menu give lots of choices for a complete lunch priced and sized right. All in all a great spot in SLO. Good service but literally some of the worst Thai food I've ever had. Potatoes in the yellow soup "curry" were raw. The tofu was steamed and very few other veggies. Flavors were off. The Thai "shu mai" was in inedible and expensive. We would not go back even if it was the only place in town. They have brown rice so one extra star. read more

While the food at My Thai is delicious and the staff is friendly, there is a business practice I am confused about. One of my favorite dishes is green curry with salmon. On 2/9/25, I called to order this dish to go. The man I spoke with put a lady on the phone. She told me that it would be $3.00 extra because it was the weekend and they would have to make it. I said," no problem." I went to get my food, which was ready in less than 15 minutes. The price-$19:52 plus a $2.00 tip. I noticed a relatively small container. So I asked the server if all of the food was there, and he said yes. I paid for my food and left. When I got home, I opened the container. There was rice and salad, which comes with the main dish. But I was very disappointed when I saw 4 small bites/pieces of salmon and 2 small pieces of eggplant in about less than 2 oz. Of curry sauce. Upset and disappointed I called My Thai. I spoke with the same lady as before. She told me that she was sorry about that. I did not feel like driving all the way back and return my order. My confusion is that when I order this particular dish, if it is lunch time, I am told that it will cost me $3 extra because this dish is not served until dinner. But I remember going there for dinner, and they still charged me $3 extra for the green curry. This time I was told they would charge me $3 extra because it was the weekend and they would have to make it. I probably wouldn't have said anything, but it was the minute amount of food for $21:52 that really got me thinking also about the extra $3 charge. MyThai is a gem! I came here with my mom and auntie for lunch and we were seated right away. We ordered filet mignon skewers, tom yum soup, papaya salad, drunken noodles, and rice. I also got a thai iced tea, which you can never go wrong with! The prices are reasonable for what you get. I really enjoyed the drunken noodles and the tom yum soup. I could tell the noodles were fresh, and the tom yum soup had a generous amount of seafood. The filet mignon skewers were also the perfect appetizer. I thought the papaya salad was just okay though. Although, I might be biased because I'm so used to my mom's papaya salad. The service was great and I loved how our waitress kept checking on us. We really enjoyed this place. Everything seemed fresh. Their buddha/ spring roll wraps are pretty good, a little heavy on the lettuce, but good overall. Their curries are really good and the spice level is adjustable. They have salads as well for a lighter option. Service was great and they were super fast as well. We ordered a Buddha Roll, which was basically a great spring roll with a really good peanut butter type dip and a chili spice that we didn't try. Even DH thought it was tasty. In addition, he ordered fried rice, and I had Chicken Pad Thai. Both were pretty typical but very good. For meat/chicken lovers, there was an abundance of both in our dinners.
