    13. Bangkok BBQ Pork, Garlic Green Bean, Pad See Ew
    Kelly W.

This place is one my boyfriend kept trying to introduce me to, but we never quite made it until last night. After having dinner, I can't believe this place isn't PACKED. The food is amazing, and they don't give you TONS of it, which I kind of appreciate. The Pad See Ew is the best I've ever had, hands down. Perfectly seasoned and full of broccoli, tofu, and egg. The green beans were crisp and delicious, and the pork was amazing according to the boyfriend. I forgot to take a photo of the fresh rolls, but they were great too! The ambiance is cute and welcoming, and there's a good amount of variety for all tastes. Please give this place a try! It's a gem in SLO for sure!

Ding, ding, ding! I think I've found my favorite Thai restaurant in SLO. We ordered the yellow curry with tofu (my go to order) and it was delicious. We got it in medium spice and usually, we debate whether to get medium or spicy but MyThai did the medium right. It had the perfect amount of spice and absolutely devoured it. We went ahead and got take out ordere of the seafood pad thai and hawaiian fried rice (which turned out to be our favorite dish out of all three).

The foods taste okay, the foods is not up standard in regarding to the texture and the taste . The foods are in the salty side :-(

Orange chicken. Really nice presentation with delicious rice and a nice salad.

Went with a friend to this really cute restaurant by the train tracks. Greeted as soon as we came in and were served water and the menus. I hadn't realized this was a vegetarian place until after I had eaten my Orange Chicken and my friend told me I was not really eating chicken. It was so delicious. I don't remember what the name of hers was but I tasted and it was really good. I had enough leftovers to take home for lunch the next day. I will definitely come back to this business.

    So good!

Good food, fine service. Nothing memorable. Would go back, wouldn't seek out. Best aspect -- right near the train station, easy fast walk.

Got the Pad Thai to go, it was okay. The noodles clumped together and the tofu pieces were small.

She pointed to the menu on top of her head, which is right there above the cashier, but I was standing so far at the back of the line which was at least 50 feet away, that I could not read the stuff on the menu that was over her head. But the point is that she wasn't even nice about it and said OK fine I'll give you a menu. When I finally made my decision, I asked her if I needed it to be on the other line or the line that she was standing at and she retorted - please give me a minute. There was no kindness. There was no common courtesy, just a matter of fact approach to really, an out of towner, tourist, who's just trying to give her restaurant's food a shot. I'm just really shocked at the rudeness. I proceeded to order the flat Thai noodles with mung beans and chicken. It came. It was fresh. But honestly, it lacks any flavor. Sorry. It was a disappointment. I'm from South East Asia. I know what I'm talking about. I would be generous to give them a 3/5. Sorry. It's not very good food at all. Which means there's nothing to say about this place other than - step up your Thai food game. Or be nice at least.

For food, we ordered two orders of the chicken satay, the pad thai, yellow curry, and two mango sticky rice desserts to share. Overall, the food was delicious. The chicken satay was probably my least favorite dish of everything we ordered, but it was still good. The standouts for us were definitely the Pad Thai and the yellow curry. The real star of the meal, however, was the mango sticky rice. It was one of the best versions I've had. What made it special was how balanced it was the coconut cream and sticky rice had a savory taste that paired well with the sweet mango perfectly. Many mango sticky rice desserts I've tried are overwhelmingly sweet, but this one had great balance and the mangoes were perfectly ripe and sweet. All five of us absolutely loved it. The reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the service. The staff were friendly, but not very attentive. My friends and I are Filipinos, we typically eat our meals with a spoon and fork. When our food arrived, we immediately asked for spoons, but they never came. We ended up making do with just our forks for the entire meal. The server checked on us a little after receiving our meals and asked how everything tasted, but after that we rarely saw anyone until we were nearly finished. There were a few things we requested that never made it to the table. Overall, the food was excellent and I would definitely come back, especially for the mango sticky rice. The service wasn't bad, but a little more attentiveness would have made the experience much better.

Service is great and this place is immaculate. Not a spec of dirt or grime anywhere, not even on the windowsills or bathroom. There is countertop, sushi style spectator seating right near the kitchen, about 6 to 8 seats, or you can catch a high top or regular table nearby. Looks like there's about eight tables total. Medium spicy here on my Pad Thai is probably leaning more towards very spicy. I would opt for mild and then use the hot condiments they provide at the table. Tons of jumbo sized perfectly cooked shrimp and fresh vegetables. I asked for extra sauce because some places go light and it makes it dry. Noodles were cooked to perfection. My wife's chicken was perfectly seasoned, very savory with a nice basil flavor. Sauce was delicious and the vegetables were cooked perfect. This place was so great we are going to plan a trip back to the area as we were traveling from out of state on a whim getaway, and we will definitely be returning to try something else on the menu. Do not miss this place if you're nearby.

You order at the counter and are given a number. Since they weren't very busy, they brought the food to my table, which I appreciated. The prices were on the high side, though fairly typical for many Vietnamese restaurants in California. I ordered the pork platter with rice and fried egg rolls. The portion size was about right. The rice was fine--nothing particularly memorable. The pork was a generous serving and had visible grill marks, but it didn't seem freshly grilled. It appeared to have been grilled previously and then reheated. It was served hot, but the texture and presentation were not what I would expect from freshly grilled meat. Fresh off the grill would have made a noticeable difference. The egg rolls were crispy on the outside, but the filling was dry and fairly unremarkable. They weren't bad, but they weren't a standout item either. The plate also came with iceberg lettuce, sliced tomato, cucumber, and pickled carrot and radish. The cucumber was fine, while the pickled vegetables were a bit more sour than I prefer. The biggest surprise was the dipping sauce for the egg rolls. Instead of the typical Vietnamese dipping sauce, which is usually one of my favorite parts of the meal, this version had quite a bit of chili added and was much spicier than expected. Some people may enjoy that, but it wasn't what I was anticipating. Overall, the meal was good, but not memorable enough to justify going out of my way for it. The prices felt a little high given the fast-food atmosphere. If I happened to be in the area again, I might stop in and give it another try, but I wouldn't make a special trip to return.
