    Congee w catfish
    Frannie Y.

Memoire was so good! I came here with a group of buds and luckily they weren't too busy yet. I got the congee with catfish, and that was so good! The catfish was super crispy and the congee was really flavorful. The hot sauce they have in it is quite good as well. I honestly think it may have been my favorite thing I had this past trip to Portland. My partner got the breakfast sandwich and said it was great! The sausage had a really good flavor, and a hashbrown in a sandwich is always a good move.

Mémoire Cà Phê is an interesting Vietnamese brunch fusion cafe. It has a tiny footprint for being so popular, seating less than 20 customers at shared tables. We got there at approximately 10:45 for brunch on a Saturday. At this point they were out of Chicken & Waffle but at least there wasn't a wait for seating as two of the larger tables opened up right after we ordered. During our entire time there, a bit less than an hour, the two extra seats at our table were never taken. Still, it seemed like a constant stream of customers. The food took 15 minutes to arrive. Biscuit & Gravy, Beef Sausage ($17) - This is one of the few places that calls it biscuit (singular) and gravy and give multiple biscuits (as opposed to most places that say "biscuits" and gravy and only give a single one cut in half!) The biscuits are smaller sized drop biscuits, perfectly tender and soft on the interior, almost to a cake-like fashion but slightly more crumbly. They aren't particularly buttery nor very salty, making the interior taste more on the alkaline side. While baked into what seems to be a golden brown crust, the gravy soaks into the sides, rendering even the exterior soft rather than crusty. Two biscuits come with fish sauce gravy poured over the top. While funky in smell, the fishy taste isn't that apparent; instead, it blends into the thick, perhaps cornstarch enhanced gravy, well. It's sweetened but smooth, translucent grey-brown, with plenty of salty, funky, savory notes to pair. On the side, they include a mound of hash browns, crisped up nicely on the flat top with tenderness on the interior. They are lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. Crumbled beef sausage lies in a line around the center of the plate. It's has a clean and robust beef flavor, seasoned well, fried to a crisp, but somewhat dry on the interior. There's finally a lacy fried egg graced with fried garlic chips to complete the meal with both white and yolk almost completely set. It's overall just a slight riff on a typical biscuits and gravy plate, but with a fuller umami flavor replacing some of the breakfast sausage meatiness. (4/5) Bowl, Bacon ($15) - This is essentially the same as above but with the biscuits replaced with perfectly cooked and fragrant jasmine rice and a difference in meat. The bacon is excellent. They include two very high quality thick cut slabs, super porky, full of fatty umami. There aren't any rubbery bits; instead, the fried areas are perfectly crisp, while the lesser cooked areas are more fatty and very tender. (4/5) Overall I enjoyed the food at Mémoire Cà Phê. I don't think they cook anything particularly exceptional, but it's still a fun place to visit for brunch. Bathrooms - Single unisex room.

Stopped by here while visiting portland. I enjoyed that you order before you sit and the food came out incredibly fast. Love the food options on the menu and that there's not too many choices. The coffees were super good, the egg one was the best. Decent amount of seating inside and outside Peaches and cream matcha 3/5 - interesting flavor but the peach overpowered the matcha Bowl with pork 4.5/5 - loved the fish sauce gravy. pork portion was pretty small compared to the amount of rice Shrimp omelet 4/5 - good flavor but a little greasy

I had a lot of expectations going in because this place was super hyped on social media. The service wasn't great. The girl who works there was nice but the two guys were not the nicest. I had to serve myself everything and even when I asked them to replace our unused plate because they were dirty, they just pointed at the plates for me to grab without any words. The bowl was good, especially their gravy! Although the pork belly was too burnt. They are super thick cuts too so if you over cook them, they turn into a brick. Dac biet waffle was the reason why we visited and was pretty mid and disappointing. The interior is clean but not cozy or inviting so we sat outside. The coffee was bad too. Any asian instant coffee mix would taste better than their coffee. I will not be coming back.

We stopped by Memoire Cà Phê for a quick breakfast and it was a good experience! The space is quite cozy and seating can be limited, so be prepared for squeezing by folks, if it's crowded. They are relocating to a new space next week, so that is something to keep in mind. I opted to order an iced pandan latte, and it was pretty tasty, although I wish I requested less ice. I also ordered a hojicha banana bread, and this was quite yummy and not overly sweet. I got the mushroom sando, which was good & filling. I liked the milk bread and sautéed mushrooms. My friend got the chicken and waffles dish snd thoroughly enjoyed it. I thought the pandan waffle and chicken were well made and both had a nice flavor. Customer service was adequate and good. Overall, a great spot for breakfast and coffee drinks.

Amazing restaurant in Portland! We were driving through the city and decided to stop in this spot. Super accommodating. Amazing staff and service! "J" took our order and we had a lovely conversation with her. Food is stunning. Shrimp omelet is so good, with delicious and plump shrimp. And a tasty chimichurri sauce. The pandan waffle with mushroom was so unique - sweet and savory. And the black sesame cinnamon roll is dangerously good! Loved this place. Such great vibes. Modern feel to it too. Will definitely come back!

I recently visited Memoire Cà Phê and overall had a really good experience. The cafe has a cozy atmosphere that makes it a nice place for brunch. Their coffee was delicious The main downside was the wait time. I went on a Saturday with a group of four, and the restaurant was extremely packed. The space itself is pretty small, so we had to wait outside for quite a while before getting a table. Service was also a little slow because of how busy it was, but the staff were still friendly and welcoming throughout the experience. Despite the wait, the food and drinks were worth it and everything tasted fresh. My favorite was the shrimp omelette over rice. Overall, I would definitely come back!

Wow this place was so fun and good! We came on July 4th and they had a dj playing music which created such a fun vibe. Food was also really good. My husband and I got the shrimp omelette and burrito. What I enjoyed about this place is that the Asian nostalgic taste is subtle but really well incorporated. The shrimp omelette was well cooked and seasoned. Theres a bed of rice on the bottom which makes it an elevated egg and rice dish I ate as a kid. It's seasoned with fish sauce but it wasn't too salty but good umami. Husband really enjoyed the breakfast burrito. Egg was still moist and you can choose different Asian flavored meats for the protein. Got the Pandan matcha and it had a strong Pandan flavor so I enjoyed it.

If you are in the mood for a brunch whose flavors go above and beyond you're in the right place! My boyfriend and I got the black sesame cinnamon roll, the congee, and the breakfast burrito. Each was superb in its own right but what I can't stop thinking about is the cinnamon roll. The congee could have been slightly better seasoned (more salt or spicer) and was a bit oily however that is being nitpicky. I think it's a 4 as opposed to a 5, because the wait was incredibly long and the prices were kind of high for what it is.

Memoire Ca Phe is a unique and modern Vietnamese cafe located on Alberta St. Street parking will be your best option and there is tons of it around the area. Inside, they have a smaller and cozy setup with a couple tables for seating. For their menu, they have a nice selection of bites and drinks to choose from. Wifey and I had brunch reservations, so we only got drinks for today. We ended up getting the Salted Pandan Matcha and the Lychee Matcha and they both had nice flavor profiles. All of the staff here are very friendly and welcoming. Come stop by and show them some support if you are ever in the area!

Such a tiny and cozy space! Loved the vibe and the service was so sweet and kind, I went as soon as they opened and had no issue with getting a table (there are only 3) the food and coffee is insanely good, I got the Vietnamese iced coffee with the egg top and the shrimp omlette 10/10! Great way to start my Saturday!

What a hit! Wife ordered the shrimp omelet and was raving about the freshness but "wasn't $20 worth it". Didn't love having to pay extra for hot sauce, when it could've been included in the flavor profile. I ordered the Sando and it really hit the spot. Ambience is calm and quiet, nice place to chill with the windows open.

Swung by for breakfast and ordered the pandan matcha latte, peaches and cream matcha, and shared the shrimp omelette. Ambiance: 5/5 Very cute spot Service: 5/5 Food came out quickly Food: 5/5 It was all delicious. The pandan matcha was my favorite of the matchas and the shrimp omelette was a perfect size to share. Loved the ginger chili sauce that went with it!
