I wanted to order everything but thoroughly enjoyed all 3 of the dishes we got. - The Burrito with beef sausage: this was so delicious! I loved how mushy it was, in a good way. Some breakfast burritos can be dry but this was the opposite! The avocado and the cheese were so good inside. I ordered a side of nuoc mam sauce which also tasted good when I drizzled it on here. - The Bowl with beef sausage: the meat was cooked perfectly! They were so nice to do scrambled eggs on here instead, for our kids. I loved the flavor of the gravy. It had a nice kick of heat. Pro tip scoop the gravy onto your burrito! - The Sando with pork belly: loved the sunny side egg on this one. That paired with the milk bread made this a super tender sandwich! The peaches and cream matcha was a winner for me! It was just the right amount of sweetness from the peach and the actual matcha flavor. The ca phe trung (egg coffee) was also very good and the egg cream had the right consistency. This place was my favorite bite and drink of the whole Portland trip! Their new space is much bigger and with lots of tables, making it way easier to get a seat. You order as you enter and then go grab your spot. Staffs and vibes were great but I'd say, overall, the food was a 3/3.5. There were items that we really liked like the Burrito and Black Sesame Cinnamon Roll but most things were so-so in our opinions. The Biscuit and Gravy was all around dry. The biscuit itself was too bready and gravy too bland. Their Pandan Waffle was also just sweet so I'd not go for that. We didn't try their Viet Coffee but our friends said they're too sweet. I had really high hopes for Memoire Ca Phe after seeing so many videos and recommendations on insta, so I was excited to finally check it out for brunch on a weekday. It wasn't very busy, so ordering was easy and we were able to grab a table right away! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming, but the food we ordered was a bit of a letdown. For an Asian fusion brunch spot, I was expecting bolder flavors, and the dishes we chose felt a little underseasoned. That said, I don't think this will be my only visit. The menu has a lot of interesting options, and I'm hoping we just didn't order the restaurant's standout dishes. Memoire was so good! I came here with a group of buds and luckily they weren't too busy yet. I got the congee with catfish, and that was so good! The catfish was super crispy and the congee was really flavorful. The hot sauce they have in it is quite good as well. I honestly think it may have been my favorite thing I had this past trip to Portland. My partner got the breakfast sandwich and said it was great! Mémoire Cà Phê is an interesting Vietnamese brunch fusion cafe. It has a tiny footprint for being so popular, seating less than 20 customers at shared tables. We got there at approximately 10:45 for brunch on a Saturday. At this point they were out of Chicken & Waffle but at least there wasn't a wait for seating as two of the larger tables opened up right after we ordered. During our entire time there, a bit less than an hour, the two extra seats at our table were never taken. Still, it seemed like a constant stream of customers. The food took 15 minutes to arrive. Biscuit & Gravy, Beef Sausage ($17) - This is one of the few places that calls it biscuit (singular) and gravy and give multiple biscuits (as opposed to most places that say "biscuits" and gravy and only give a single one cut in half!) The biscuits are smaller sized drop biscuits, perfectly tender and soft on the interior, almost to a cake-like fashion but slightly more crumbly. They aren't particularly buttery nor very salty, making the interior taste more on the alkaline side. While baked into what seems to be a golden brown crust, the gravy soaks into the sides, rendering even the exterior soft rather than crusty. Two biscuits come with fish sauce gravy poured over the top. While funky in smell, the fishy taste isn't that apparent; instead, it blends into the thick, perhaps cornstarch enhanced gravy, well. It's sweetened but smooth, translucent grey-brown, with plenty of salty, funky, savory notes to pair. On the side, they include a mound of hash browns, crisped up nicely on the flat top with tenderness on the interior. They are lightly seasoned with salt and pepper. Crumbled beef sausage lies in a line around the center of the plate. It's has a clean and robust beef flavor, seasoned well, fried to a crisp, but somewhat dry on the interior. There's finally a lacy fried egg graced with fried garlic chips to complete the meal with both white and yolk almost completely set. It's overall just a slight riff on a typical biscuits and gravy plate, but with a fuller umami flavor replacing some of the breakfast sausage meatiness. (4/5) Bowl, Bacon ($15) - This is essentially the same as above but with the biscuits replaced with perfectly cooked and fragrant jasmine rice and a difference in meat. The bacon is excellent. They include two very high quality thick cut slabs, super porky, full of fatty umami. There aren't any rubbery bits; instead, the fried areas are perfectly crisp, while the lesser cooked areas are more fatty and very tender. (4/5) Overall I enjoyed the food at Mémoire Cà Phê. I had a lot of expectations going in because this place was super hyped on social media. The service wasn't great. The girl who works there was nice but the two guys were not the nicest. I had to serve myself everything and even when I asked them to replace our unused plate because they were dirty, they just pointed at the plates for me to grab without any words. The bowl was good, especially their gravy! Although the pork belly was too burnt. They are super thick cuts too so if you over cook them, they turn into a brick. Their coffee was delicious The main downside was the wait time. I went on a Saturday with a group of four, and the restaurant was extremely packed. The space itself is pretty small, so we had to wait outside for quite a while before getting a table. Service was also a little slow because of how busy it was, but the staff were still friendly and welcoming throughout the experience. Wow this place was so fun and good! We came on July 4th and they had a dj playing music which created such a fun vibe. Food was also really good. My husband and I got the shrimp omelette and burrito. What I enjoyed about this place is that the Asian nostalgic taste is subtle but really well incorporated. The shrimp omelette was well cooked and seasoned. Theres a bed of rice on the bottom which makes it an elevated egg and rice dish I ate as a kid. It's seasoned with fish sauce but it wasn't too salty but good umami. If you are in the mood for a brunch whose flavors go above and beyond you're in the right place! My boyfriend and I got the black sesame cinnamon roll, the congee, and the breakfast burrito. Each was superb in its own right but what I can't stop thinking about is the cinnamon roll. So glad to find this on yelp :) We ordered the shrimp omelette, pork bowl, chicken pudding bowl with fruits and a kids meal of omelette, protein and hasbrowns. I found this spot searching yelp for banh mi, which was odd since they did not have banh mi. However, I was pleasantly surprised to see a delicious sounding breakfast sandwich. The $15 price is steep and almost deterred me. I ordered the pork sausage on the sandwich, along with an iced cafe sura (condensed milk). The coffee was good, but very tiny. Sadly, I easily finished it while waiting over 30 minutes the sandwich. It was lunch hour on a Tuesday, but don't expect fast service. My hanger faded when I got "the sando"! You could see the love and execution from the grilled milk bun to the crispy hash browns. I will say my egg was more over hard than over medium, as another picture seemed, but still delicious!. I've been here multiple times and I love it. Located on a busy corner, you might have to circle around a few times to find street parking. Place has only a few tables, so I avoid trying to visit on the weekends. My favorite dish, the shrimp omelette. Savory and filling. The drinks are delicious, too. I came here to just catch up with a friend and it's a cute spot located in central Portland! The interior of the shop is small, with few small tables (like three) and some bar seating. There's some outdoor seating for when it's sunny! We both just came for some drinks so I got their pandan matcha and my friend got their salted cream coffee, and both were delicious. I really loved the pandan in my matcha and thought that the flavor was really strong and enjoyable. What a fantastic spot for fusion breakfast food and delicious coffee! Mémoire brings together Vietnamese flavors with traditional American "diner" food, in the best way. I had the fish sauce bacon and it was phenomenal. The bacon itself was thick-cut, tender, and packed with flavor. I could have eaten three slabs alone. But the rest of the dish was equally impressive, with hash browns, an egg, and something you don't see in diners -- a bed of RICE that pulled the entire dish together. I also had a traditional Vietnamese coffee, and it was well worth the extra time it took to brew. The taste was amazing, such a rich espresso flavor balanced out by condensed milk.
