I have been to Naos 4-5 times now. I have been for a pre opening party that was buffet style, a large private dinner party with a preset menu and a few normal dinners. 5 stars every time! The food is amazing. I do love Mediterranean food. I've tried most of the meats on the menu. I do really love the lamb. Great salads, incredible portions. I decided to try out Naos with my husband and daughter while my mom was in town. We pulled up and we thought maybe it used to be an old bank, but the hostess confirmed that was not the case, lol. The inside decor was beautiful, upscale, white tablecloths. With that being said, the waitstaff was incredibly sweet regarding my cranky 2 year old. They gave us a crayon and paper, and suggested great dishes for her. We started out with a very friendly server, although after a while, he maybe got a little too attentive. It seemed he liked to recommend the most expensive items on the menu. When my mom tried to order the lamb clay pot, he pushed pretty adamantly to order the lamb chops instead, which she regretted afterwards. We also didn't love how we got a ticket for our to-go food to pick up at the front - it seemed odd and unnecessary. Onto the food... which was delicious. We started with the greek village salad and peach salad special. The greek salad was delicious - huge piece of feta on top with fresh vegetables, good olive oil and herbs. The peach salad was also delicious - goat cheese and balsamic glaze always gets me. For entrees, I got the shrimp saganaki - shrimp were large and nicely cooked, and the tomato sauce was fresh and flavorful. Must have been same tomato sauce as the kids tomato pasta, which was also delicious. My husband got the wagyu beef cheeks, which were so tender. My mom got the lamb chops, which were very overcooked, but still tasty. Had reservations at Naos Hellenic Cuisine on a Wednesday evening. We were seated promptly and had great service throughout our visit. Meze Platter ($28): Came with four different dips - spicy feta, yellow split pea, tzatziki, and eggplant along with a basket of warm grilled pita bread. The tzatziki and eggplant were the group favorites of the four. Very delicious paired with the warm pita! Beef Short Rib Giouvetsi ($39): Tender beef short ribs served over orzo with tomato sauce, kasseri cheese, black garlic, red wine, and two small whole cipollini onions. The short ribs were perfectly cooked and very tender. Unfortunately, the tomato sauce was a bit of a miss for me as it was quite acidic and not to my preference. We visited Naos Hellenic Cuisine to celebrate a birthday. Our meal started off on a high note when we were seated and found a "Happy Birthday" placard at our table. That was a nice touch. The interior of the restaurant, which originally housed the Asian restaurant An many years ago, has aged well. It was tastefully remodeled with Greek influences which definitely added to the sophisticated ambiance. For appetizers we tried the melitzanosalata, eggplant salad, and dolmades, stuffed grape leaves. I thought the eggplant was very good, but could have used a little more seasoning to bring out the eggplant more. The dolmades, which contrary to the menu contained meat, rated just an OK from my wife. She tried the Branzino for her entree and thought that it was excellent. I chose the souvla, marinated chicken thigh. The chicken was overcooked, dry, and had very little flavor. I do not recommend it. We also ordered the Kritharota, orzo with spinach and other veggies, to accompany our meal. The top two-thirds of the serving was rather bland, but the bottom third, where the individual flavors combined was delicious. At the suggestion of our server, we split a complimentary Dark Chocolate Mousse for dessert. It was excellent and one of the best parts of the meal. Overall, I thought the service was very good. Our server was friendly and attentive, without being cloying. At one point he was busy serving other tables and the manager seamlessly jumped in to help. Our meal, with a 20% tip but no alcohol, was $176. Judged solely by the food, Naos Hellenic Cuisine is rather expensive, but when you factor in the entire experience it is not an unreasonable value for a higher-end restaurant in Cary. However, charging for refills on $5 soft drinks cheapens the premium brand the restaurant is trying to present. If the food is more important than the experience, many similar dishes that are arguably equally good or better can be found at Bosphorous, just a couple of miles down Harrison Avenue, at a lower price point. read more

Extremely overpriced, corporately atmosphere, lacked diversity for such a large establishment and large pool of people in Cary where there is a lot of diversity, and my wife complained that her sea bass was plain and that it would have been better paired with potatoes and Greek green beans then their Plaki. I had the Claypot Lamb and a side of Gigantis Plaki ... first you only get three tiny lemon potatoes in the pot with the large lamb shank, not very Greek-like, second of all while the meat was tender and perfect, and nicely incorporated Grape leaf it was wrapped in, the dish was too salty and lemony that I had to eat the meat with gigantes Plaki to cut down the salt & lemon taste. I found that I would be returning to Taverna Agora mostly. It's got a much better atmosphere, is not overpriced, has same dishes and I have never been disappointed in its Arni Pisto - Shank or Pirzola - Lamb chops. I am still waiting for the day a really good Greek or really good Turkish restaurant will come to Raleigh. For Turkish I go to chapel hill, Greensboro, New York or fly to Germany or Turkey. For Greek, I literally have to go to Boston or Chicago for America's best Greek, but in Germany most Greek restaurants are as good as any Greek restaurants in Greece. I don't if it's just NC people's taste buds or why so many of the Mediterranean and Moddle Eastern food in Raleigh is extremely average or even poorly done. read more

I visited this location for a birthday dinner, and I will say the ambience of the restaurant is very beautiful. The aesthetics are welcoming and inviting, and the restaurant is set up in a way that each guest has an intimate experience. However, I will say that the service was subpar at best. I ordered the calamari which came out on time. My calamari was very salty and the lemon aïoli was also salty so it's not necessarily something I would recommend. Another observation regarding the calamari was that I received mostly fried breading pieces as opposed to actual meat. Now we had a big party and for whatever reason my Greek salad came out after everyone else had just about finished their meal. When I inquired about it, I was told that the kitchen miscommunicated because they have two different kitchens. The waiter seemed unapologetic regarding my wait time which was discouraging. Overall, I would say parking at this location is great and aesthetically. It's a nice experience. All of the starters were well balanced and not too filling which I always appreciate. For starters, we got the chicken souvla, filet mignon, shrimp saganaki, and beef short rib. Everyone really seemed to enjoy their entrees except for the filet. I tried a piece and agreed it was extremely underwhelming - not because the quality or the cook weren't spot on, they were, the seasoning was lacking severely which was a huge disappointment considering the price. The favorite was definitely the chicken souvla, the meat was incredibly tender and paired with that paprika sauce and tzatziki, it was hard to beat! We ended up getting the dessert cocktails (espresso martini, baklava old fashioned), both were great as well as their baklava, which was exactly what a good baklava should be! Waited a fair amount of time for the appetizer, entrees, and even longer for dessert and water refills. I guess coffee wasn't an option as it was not offered with dessert. The baklava was incredibly large and but the filling was flavorful. Also not super syrupy like other places may do. Large restaurant too, with lots of rooms so you could definitely do a large private dinner here well. Food was phenomenal- we ordered multiple plates and shared, with the dolmas being a favorite, and the spanakopita being absolutely amazing. I don't typically like beets but the way they were prepared and paired with cheese and nuts made me really enjoy as well! My only gripe is our server was rough- made disparaging jokes about himself not being good which made it more awkward. He knew two drinks they were out of, but was unsure if the bartenders could do something similar. We had the pleasure of dining here this weekend. We were seated in one of the booths near the center of the restaurant. It is beautifully decorated and very detailed. A feast for the eyes. One note- the tablecloths at these tables felt a little big long and as you move into the booth be careful not to pull it along with you. They would benefit from a shorter cloth. For reference I'm small body wise. We started with the Tiropita which was feta baked inside phyllo with honey and sesame seeds. One of the best bites I've ever had. A must get. 10/10 Spanakorizo was next which is a spinach and rice dish. Very flavorful, very dilly, a hint of spice. One issue is our rice wasn't cooked through but the restaurant was very apologetic and took it off our bill. Despite that it was actually still pretty good and there wasn't a ton of rice in it anyway. If cooked right prob would have been a 7.5/10 but this was more of a 6.5/10 For dinner we had the shrimp saganaki which was absolutely delicious and the shrimp were enormous (you get 8)! Insane value as far as I'm concerned at only $25. 9/10 We also had the bone in pork chop which was quite good and very smoky tasting. The sauce was good but you wanted more of it. 8/10 We shared a affogato for dessert which was ok- but should have had way more ice cream. I would suggest smushing the ice cream down and creating a well for the espresso vs just pouring it over top. Some additions like hot fudge and almonds would elevate this. The biscuit with it was ok but nothing great. 4/10 Overall we enjoyed and will be back. Our waitress was lovely, it was a beautiful atmosphere. read more

A true Greek kitchen and what an absolute treat. Naōs Hellenic Cuisine in Cary left a lasting impression from the moment we walked in. Our server came to the table and asked what type of water we preferred. I personally do not drink tap water, and I truly appreciate when a restaurant takes the time to ask rather than automatically pouring it while I am trying to decline. It set the tone for the level of attentiveness we experienced throughout the evening. The restaurant itself is stunning. Elegant, polished, and full of class without feeling stiff or pretentious. The space feels warm and elevated at the same time, like the kind of place where time slows down just enough for you to enjoy every bite. We started with the Spanakopita and the Calamari, and both were excellent. I will say that lemon is used generously throughout the menu. While I am not a huge fan of overpowering citrus, it never crossed into unpleasant territory. The Spanakopita was not traditional in the classic sense, but the chef absolutely got it right. Perfect balance of flavor, cheese, and texture with an incredible crunch. This is the kind of dish you would happily take home and snack on later. The Calamari was cooked to perfection. The chicken was incredibly tender and packed with flavor. Paired with the warm pita, creamy tzatziki, and the fresh side salad, this dish was outstanding. Every element worked together effortlessly. The short rib was the least favorite at the table, but that speaks more to how strong the other dishes were because it was still very good. Savory, comforting, and the gravy was rich and delicious. It simply did not steal the spotlight like the others. The Shrimp Saganaki was a small but mighty dish. The shrimp were truly colossal and cooked perfectly. The tomato base was bold, rich, and incredibly satisfying. Personally, I would have loved a side of noodles to soak up every drop of that sauce. We also ordered the Greek salad and my, my, my, it was so good. Fresh, crisp, and beautifully balanced. The thick slice of feta on top was the perfect finishing touch and made it stand out from your typical Greek salad. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed our experience from start to finish. The food - Everything was very well made & cooked to perfection. The cocktails were creative & the ones we had were excellent. The standouts are the Greek Village Salad, Clay Pot Lamb & the Orange Phylli Cake. I don't care for lamb but it was delicious...well seasoned, very tender & not at all gamey. The orange phyllo cake was honestly one of the best desserts we've ever had! The plaki for me was ok. Fish was well cooked but the tomatoes on the stem were awkward to eat. I felt that there was too much sauce & it overwhelmed the delicateness of the halibut. Woodfired octopus was good but it was too soft imho. It lacked the springy texture I expected for octopus & it lacked the smoky woodfired taste. We also ordered taramosalata. My company hosted a dinner here on the patio. The restaurant is absolutely stunning!!!! One of the most beautiful restaurants I've been inside. The team were nice and helpful. The food was incredible! The only complaint was it took forever for us to get our courses. There were dips already on the table, 2 salads a meat plate and dessert and it took over an hour between the salads and the meat to come out. I'm hoping they just under planned, but I'd be willing to try eating there on my own again and not with a big group as the food was outstanding! read more

This place was super lovely with lots of space and gorgeous Greek decor! It's perfect for when you go for an anniversary or just in the mood to go to a fancy meal! I was part of a table of 8 and we all shared multiple dishes. For wine the waiter recommended Gai'a 'Monograph' Assyritko, which was super refreshing. We got a salad and potatoes as appetizers (I was a bit shocked that the lemon juice used on the potatoes were super lemony and not just a hint). The potatoes were definitely a hit and we had a second order even! We also had 2 orders of the octopus that was cooked perfectly! Not spongey at all and seasoned well! I loved the lobster pasta, lamb chops, and seafood stew, although it was a mix as some felt the stew was underwhelming but some of us enjoy that it had that homemade feel (not overseasoned at all, and the broth was a light natural watery flavor of the mussels, squid, and vegetables). We also had an order of the sirloin souvla. I thought it was just ok, but it definitely impressed the others at the table. We also wanted to order the lamb clay pot, but it was sold out so next time I visit I would like to try. The dessert was nice and made by their own in house pastry chef! We had an orange cake with ice cream, baklava, and a goat cheesecake. I personally loved the goat cheesecake as it was not too sweet, although my friends find it very rich and too much after a few bites. The baklava was also not flakey and had pistachio on top. I personally am not the biggest fan and usually find baklava too sweet, but fans of the pastry would not be disappointed. Food was good. Impossible to get wine you actually want. We ordered 3 bottles of wine but the "sommelier" overrode all three orders for crappier Greek "equivalents". How is this allowed. Literally ordered wines but got served other, non-equivalent crappier wines. read more

It was great to be back in this location--Naos has done an impressive job reinventing the interior. The atmosphere is stylish, modern, and comfortable, with noise levels that were perfect for conversation. Definitely a nice spot for a date night or relaxed dinner. Service was positive and attentive throughout, and the menu itself has promise, with a variety of classic Greek options that look great on paper. Unfortunately, the execution in the kitchen didn't live up to the setting. We tried several dishes. The eggplant t meze was bland and lacked any depth of flavor. The calamari was basic and similarly bland, just not memorable. The beet salad was the standout--bright, well-seasoned, and genuinely enjoyable. The lamb chops were lukewarm on arrival, served over lemon potatoes so aggressively lemony they were basically inedible. For nearly $150 for two people, you expect far better execution. If you go, plan to share plates--the portions are decent--but the value isn't quite there yet. Hopefully they're still finding their footing, because the space and service deserve food that matches their potential. Naos is one of those rare DELISH restaurants that reminds you why you bother getting dressed up to go out in the first place. The food? Ridiculously good.
