Great store with good styles but terrible customer service. Unless it looks like you're dripping of money. Don't expect any help other than a sentence or two. I asked about Hawaiian gold bracelets looking to see the styles and weight. And all I got was the price. The salesperson kept on inching away, didn't even look at me or offer anything. Mind you, I had three bracelets already so obviously I mighy know a think or two about them. But the sales person just straight brushed me off and went directly towards the tourist. My fiance and I picked out his wedding ring, ordered it and waited the few weeks it took to get it in. The woman who helped us was helpful and we left feeling happy. We picked up the ring and briefly tried it on and left. Both people who helped us were fine and we were happy about our experience with them. I decided to write a review because of our third time in the store. Once we got home my fiance tried the ring on again and decided that it was too big. I began to get a little nervous considering that we leave for Belize in 3 weeks and I wasn't sure if we could even fix the sizing issue. We decided that we would go to Na Hoku to see what they could do and if needed we'd use the large ring for our ceremony...then when back in Hawaii try and get the ring sized. Not ideal for me, but I knew I had to be flexible. We returned to Na Hoku on a busy Sunday afternoon to be helped by Rick, the manager. We explained our issue and he was GREAT. He explained to us why the ring was the wrong size apologized and promised to have it fixed before we left for the wedding...I almost cried in the store I was so happy. He then offered to clean my engagement ring for me, which was looking a little sad. Since I got the ring 9 months ago I've had it cleaned about 3 times....all with mediocre results. Not Rick...he got the ring looking brand new!! He then explained to me what I needed to go to get the same results at home but offered to clean the ring for me whenever I needed (even though we purchased the ring at another store). I was really impressed with Rick's level of customer service, the kind that is so rare these days. We are so use to stores blaming the customer and making us feel bad, but not Rick he took responsibility and will definitely have us as repeat customers....since the jewelery at Na Hoku is AMAZING too! read more

I had a nice, no-pressure experience when buying my Earrings . I had seen them online but it's best to go in . I ended up picking out a pricier pair due o color and luster . They are so pretty with a hint of purple in them. Loved the experience ! Got a free jewelry box with purchase which was a nice add-on. I do wish they had offered to show me matching thinks to complete my suite. I got back online and found a necklace that matched that I would have bought but now I will have to wait for the next time I travel to Hawaii or San Fran. Mahalo! read more

I guess this store is doing well enough during COVID-19 that they do not need business. I was all set to buy this ring I really liked there when I asked about resizing. They said resizing is free at the time of purchase or within 30 days. I told them I had unfortunately put on dreaded quarantine weight and was just starting to lose it, so would they be able to resize in maybe 6 months...nothing outrageous. I wasn't asking for 5 years from now! They said NO, then I would have to pay for the resizing. Considering it would be FREE to resize right now, why make pay then? One not guarantee a one-time free resize for their rings? I told them I would pay this ring right now if they would guarantee a one-time free resize (again, since it would have been free if I re-sized it that day) and they said, sorry not possible. So now I do not have the ring (it was pretty!) and they do not have a sale. But, again, it sounds like they don't need my business anyway. I guess good for them for managing to survive COVID-10 so well. read more

I was browsing for a souvenir for my mother... The store look so nice from outside, and the choice great... but I didn't appreciate the ambiance!!!!! The staff was a little pushy... My budget was around $400-$500 but the lady was keep on showing me $700+ items... I didn't feel confortable inside... And then some chinese customers entered in the store... and I was left by myself... so I just walked away... Maybe next time. read more

Bought a gold Hawaiian Heritage ring on Big Island back in 2015 with a "Lifetime Warranty". Unfortunately, but 2017 bits of gold had fallen off. We took it to Na Hoku Ala Moana in October 2017, but after keeping us waiting more than one week, and having us call them for an answer more than once, they replied that they wouldn't honor the warranty, and that we'd have to pay $139 to repair it. They blamed us, said we hadn't worn it properly (It's a ring! How does one not wear a ring "properly"? Especially since they never saw me wearing it!), and called it "wear and tear". We call it poor workmanship and poor customer service. After this treatment, we will never buy another piece of jewelry from Na Hoku. And we'll be telling the Better Business Bureau about Na Hoku's broken promise of a Lifetime Warranty. read more

We saw the Ocean Wave necklace pendant in the Hawaiian Airlines magazine on the plane to Honolulu. My wife demanded to go see it in person. Bye and bye we made it down to the Na Hoku store near Wakiki Beach and started browsing. Julie the store clerk helped us greatly with a look at all the different varieties of the pendant. She made some very good suggestions and helped us find just the right one that fit my wife's taste and our budget. It's a souvenir that neither of us will ever forget thanks to the great service and fun experience we had. We noted that they have a store near us in Pleasanton, Ca. We'll be going over there soon to take a look at the other items we also liked among their unique and beautiful jewelry. read more

My fiancé ordered my engagement ring from Nahoku's website. He had the ring sized by Nahoku but when I got the ring I wanted it a little tighter so I took it to a well known, local jewelry store. A couple months later the welding on the ring snapped and 2 pieces of the band separated. I thought it was a defect in manufacturing, but after sending it back to Nahoku to get it fixed they knew right away that it was caused by me having it resized locally. Even though that was completely my fault, I should have sent it to Nahoku to be done right, they fixed it at no cost to me and expedited it. I am so pleased with the customer service and I absolutely love my ring. read more

It was my first visit into the store and I was warmly greeted by Sallianne. She took the time to show me around and explain the products and the company. She was very patient and never pushy. I enjoyed talking with her and would definitely go back to see Sallianne when I decide to purchase the plumeria pendant and earrings. A very comfortable and inviting experience. Not just the typical Hawaiian jewelry store where they just want to sell you something. Their products are of high quality - not hollow or cheaply assembled. I didn't go through the store but strictly went through the customer service representatives in Honolulu who processed my special order for my wedding ring. Since I don't like diamonds and love pearls, Na Hoku was absolutely great in working with me to get my perfect wedding ring. I live in California, but I worked extensively with Tricia and Jana via email who were able to research the sapphires I wanted to surround my pearl ring. They were able to take a design and alter it to replace the diamonds that originally surrounded the pearl with indigo sapphires instead. They walked me throughout the entire ordering process via email, promptly answering my questions and notifying me immediately of the sapphires they found that would match my engagement ring. I couldn't be more grateful, appreciative, and impressed by their awesome work. Due to the originality of the ring, they said it would take 3-5 weeks, and as promised, they completed within the time frame. Purchased a pendant and chain from Na Hoku from the Hyatt Regency, Maui last March. The representative assisting my husband and myself recommended a chain that was supposed to be "the best." It was a bit more expensive than others but the higher cost would be worth it. It was worn twice. Unfortunately, it spent most of the time in our safe. It was well taken care of, i.e. never slept with it on, etc. I noticed the chain had 2 kinks. I always meant to take the chain to one of their stores, (closest one to where I live is an hour away). When I returned this week to the Hyatt, Maui I brought it into the store for repair. I was told it could not be repaired, (type of chain can't be "fixed"), and it had been too long since purchase to make it right. We were willing to upgrade/change out the chain. The gentleman who assisted us stated that he could tell that it had not been worn much. Everyone I know will here about my experience with Na Hoku. I see their ads everywhere/in many fine magazines. Truly poor PR. I have chains I have purchased throughout my 69 yrs. that are still intact and were much cheaper! Shame on you NaHoku. I haven't yet bought a purchase as this was my first visit looking for an engagement ring. The service was A++. The lady was so friendly and helpful with all of my questions. Minutes before this, I had a horrible experience at Tiffany and Co where the lady was very rude. I shop at this Nahoku everytime I am in Honolulu which averages at least twice a year. My sister also likes to shop here and most recently she was slowly purchasing charms for this bracelet that she really loved. They were all related to the sea. Anyway, she got tired to staggering the purchases and bought up the last three charms that she wanted probably going over her monthly allowance of free spending for herself...LOL! Her charm bracelet was complete and while showing all her new charms to me she suddenly realized that one of the charms (her favorite) had fallen off sometime during the day. It has a double latch and she was really not sure how that could have happened. Her Hawaiian vacation now was ruined as she spent the next two days retracing all of her steps and even went back to the shop to speak to them about this. At that time, nothing could be done....totally understandable....they did say though to bring the bracelet back in and they would make sure that the rest of the charms are tightly fastened. So after two days of searching, she and I went back to the store to get her bracelet taken care of and when we walked in, both sales ladies were elated to see us and said that their manager; Rick, would like to talk to my sister. (I thought, oh boy, he's going to help us out and sell us the charm at a discount). He asked her what she thought might have happened and she said she didn't know but just before coming to the store today, she dropped the bracelet on the bed and one charm popped off. He said that's what he needed to hear since this has never happened to any other clients before. He took the bracelet and looked it over and said to my sister, "our store is not in the business of prospering over someone's misfortune." OMG......what did that mean? Was he going to replace the charm for free? You bet that is exactly what he did! My sister became a waterfall and I had to hold back my tears too! Never did we expect that!
