It was perfectly seasoned with just a hint of spiciness. The portion size was just right. The garlic naan was very good, too, but they only give you two pieces. I would have liked one more piece. I ordered rice kheer for dessert, and to my surprise it was served hot. I'm pretty sure I've only had it cold. Will taste it when it cools down. I have high expectations. We did take out here yesterday. There was nothing bad about our food, it was just average...unfortunately. Indian food should have bold flavors, and Naan & Curry fell a little short. We ordered 6 items to try... as many dishes that made sense for 2 people. Their naan (5/5) was the best item we had...good char, texture, with a little 'chew'. Probably one of the best naans I've had. For the dishes we ordered, Shrimp vindaloo (2/5) was the worst dish... as the small shrimp were not fresh and made the whole dish fishy...eek! The butter chicken (3/5), chicken tikka marsala (3/5), dal mahkni (3/5) were all very average. The chicken samosas (4/5) were flaky and flavorful. There is so much good Indian food in the South Bay, our search will continue...but we won't be back to Naan and Curry unless we need some great naan. read more

I was particularly intrigued by the non-vegetarian combo (I didn't choose what entrees I got, but it came with two curries, an entree of the day, naan, rice, and a dessert! I think it was chicken tikka masala and butter chicken? Both were super good! I enjoyed the naan, the rice is okay (it's rice so not much to say there), mango dessert was nice and not too sweet. I would give zero stars if I could. We just ordered food from here and it was the most inedible food I have ever come across. We ordered butter chicken, tandoori chicken, garlic naan, butter naan, and jeera rice. The butter chicken was pastel orange in color (clearly artificial) with a thin soup like consistency. It tasted watery and the chicken pieces in it looked and tasted boiled. The tandoori chicken tasted boiled too - but had an artificial orange color on top with no charring - it tasted soapy and awful. Definitely not cooked in a tandoor. The naans lacked any flavor - especially disappointing with the garlic naan. The rice was dry but at least not off-putting. I am surprised this place has any positive ratings and curious as to who is cooking the food here? Clearly something is amiss as the food was not just "not to our taste" but objectively awful. We ended up placing an order and picking up: *butter chicken - wish the chicken was a bit mroe tender and more pieces but this was yummy *naan - standard and yummy *veg combo - we got this with the saag paneer and Malai kofta. Naan & Curry is a bit of a hole-in-the-wall, but if you're in the mood for Indian food on a budget these guys are a good choice for the money. Trying out their combo meals for lunch on a Saturday, it's clear you got a pretty good value for the food and the staff are quite patient and welcoming, so overall it adds up to a good experience. However, I did find their curries to be much thinner than I prefer, so it's not quite the optimal spot for me to get my curried fix. Parking is available in the strip this spot is located on, but might fill up a bit during peak hours. The restaurant itself only has inside seating, but a good amount of cozy seating. Service was generally good and prompt. We were greeted when we entered and though it took a little bit to get past a misunderstanding of the menu, staff were extremely patient in explaining the details. Once we placed the order we paid first, then got seated for dine-in (food was then promptly brought out). The writing on the menu doesn't quite describe how they're actually doing their combo menus: you pick two entrees from the board rather than one that comes with a daal, a mango-lassi-like dessert, rice, and plain naan (plus some bottled water). My brother and I got two platters between us, but we mixed around items. ==Curries [3/5]== Reasonably well flavored: these weren't the best curries you'll be finding in the bay, but decent considering the price. The major problem being how thin they tasted, which was definitely more on the watery side. Not great for clinging to naan and also affected mouthfeel and corroborated with the curries feeling lacking in depth. This was generally true across the curries that we ate (Lamb curry, butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, paneer tikki masala). Hard to complain too much with the price though. The tikki masala tasted quite similarly to the butter chicken, albeit with the later being much sweeter. Meats were generally cooked tender though. ==Daal [4/5]== The daal was a bit strong on cinnamon and could've used a bit more salt, but otherwise had a good consistency (especially compared to the curries). It was also provided in a much larger pod so you had a good amount of it. ==Carbs [5/5]== The naan was very hot and fresh, with a nice chewy inside and with a crisp outside. The basmati rice was also surprisingly fragrant and quite fresh, so all in all there's not much to critique here. ==Mango lassi? [4/5]== A nice finisher to the meal with a small cup of what tasted most like a mango lassi. I've no idea what it actually was, but tasted like a nice rendition of one with a mostly sweet and mildly tart profile. read more
