We went to Naan n Curry last weekend after a neighbor told us we should give it a try. Wow! The food was very good and had nice portions. I had the lamb curry which came with rice. My wife had the shrimp biryani and the chana masala. We both shared a plain and a garlic naan which were enormous! Indian music was playing to further remind us of where we were! :-) The manager (owner?) was very patient and had a great sense of humor. Naan n' Curry is hittin'! That tikka masala, that warm buttered naan, those plump tandoori prawns?! Nom, nom, and nom. Good Indian food is really hard to come by these days. I've been passing by Naan n' Curry for years during my trips to Todos Santos Plaza. Decided to finally check them out a few months ago, and they did not disappoint ya girl! Their setup is fast casual. You order at the counter, take a number, and they'll deliver the food to your table. It was moderately busy on an early Friday night, but I was able to snag a seat inside. They have a decent amount of indoor table space, but this spot does tend to get pretty crowded. It's also really popular for takeout. The gentleman at the register was really friendly (might have been the owner?!). I ordered chicken tikka masala, tandoori prawns, plain naan, and a side of rice. First of all, the prices are insanely cheap! Spent about $30 total and was able to make three meals out of what I ordered. The portions are great for the price as well. They also have self serve Chai tea which was really tasty. Everything that I had was exceptional. The tandoori prawns had a beautiful char on them and were extremely flavorful. The rice was fluffy and the naan was super soft and huge! I swear this was like biggest piece of naan ever! It was so soft and buttery. I just couldn't stop dipping it in the tikka masala sauce. Speaking of tikka masala; their chicken tikka masala was straight dynamite!!! So rich and creamy with tender chicken pieces. The flavor was just... mmmmm. I think the only mistake that I made was not ordering it spicy. But the fact that it tasted this delicious without any spiciness let's me know that it tastes bomb AF when it's spicy! Would get this again in a heartbeat! When the food first arrived, the man that was sitting at the next table just eyed me down like "Is she REALLY gonna eat all that?!". Yessir, I AM! But really, I barely got through a third of it. I was so damn full by the time I finished. It's one of those spots where you know that you're full, but you just can't stop eating because the food is so damn good. Yeeeep... that part! But I love me some leftovers, and these made for some yummy ones the next day. Still can't believe that it has taken me so many years to hit Naan n' Curry up. We walked in and stood at the counter to place our order for a little bit before the staff person acknowledged us. A little weird since he was right in front of us and didn't seem to be doing anything else. Orders are taken at the counter then brought to your table when they're ready. We ordered the lamb vindaloo, roti, garlic naan, side of rice and bindi chicken. The lamb vindaloo was SPICY! The rice and naan really helped soak up some of the heat. Naan n Curry was my first Indian food experience. I ordered the most popular items: chicken curry, chicken tikka masala and their garlic naan. I think Indian food is severely underrated: it's so good, with such a rich flavor to everything. The chicken curry and chicken tikka masala were served hot, served on time and served with such a rich flavor of spices. This is a 10/10! I really can't describe the food: you have to try it yourself. Naan n Curry does a perfect job making the taste of India a unique experience. This spot gets so busy, and whenever I drive through Plaza Todos Santos, I see how packed it always is, especially weekends. Once you enter, you may wait a couple minutes, but it's worth it. I'd recommend taking a look at the menu online and have in mind what you want. Lots of seating inside, but some seats are outside too. You can see the cooks preparing the food right there, and the to go services are always busy. The environment makes this place boom with business. Naan n Curry has been the spot for so many years for folks in the Bay Area for none other than naan and curry. They get really busy especially in the evenings for both pick up and dine in. Definitely family style because the portions are huge. And when you order for dine in you pick a spot, gather your own utensils and cups and they serve the food. We ordered garlic naan and rice to go with our mixed vegetables tikka masala, chicken tikka masala, and the palak paneer. The food is authentic to its origin. When the Owner is present, I feel like the restaurant runs like a well oil machine. I have NEVER had a pleasant experience with the man that works the register and takes orders. He's older with glasses. I find him to be super rude and dry. God forbid if you ask for extra chutney. He will huff and puff. He is one the reasons why we do take outs, and don't eat at the place. I don't want to knock any stars down because of him, as we do love this place, its our goto for Pakistani cuisine, but I am one more experience away from not patronizing this place. You can get the dishes mild or spicy, the utensils, cups, and extra plates are in the back, the staff is no-nonsense and ready to cook the food fresh and get it to you. This review is for their takeout. Food overall was good! My husband and I got takeout. I called in the order and it was ready for pick up in 20 minutes. I liked that they had different dessert options that most Indian spots I have been to, don't offer. Some of the dishes have different spice levels so if you can't tolerate spice, I would tell them mild. When I called, they didn't ask so I think we were defaulted to medium spice because some items like our saag paneer and chana masala had a good kick to them. I didn't mind but my husband was breaking a sweat. Food: - chicken tikka masala - this one was probably our favorite - saag paneer - spicy but strangely a little bland in flavor. I've had better elsewhere. They did add a generous portion of paneer which was nice - chana masala- we didn't really care for this one. Also a little too spicy and had a bland flavor. - naan - much thicker than we're used to and kind of chewy but I liked it! - mango lassi - standard and refreshing to help cut the spice. - rice pudding - my husband liked this one more than me, it was kind of slimy in texture and not too sweet - sweet cheese in syrup- this one was good! Doordash order for dinner tonight. First time trying Naan 'n Curry. The Kuna (lamb shank) arrived in a pint container without the shank bone. My guess is they deboned it because they don't have a to-go container to fit the whole thing. Even the mild version is quite hot & spicy, but very flavorful and tender. The naan (plain and garlic versions) arrived wrapped in foil and still hot. Wonderful! The eggplant dip was way too hot/spice for me even though I ordered the mild option. The texture was smooth and it was aromatic with the scent of caramelized onions. The raita was watery. Good meal for a reasonable price. My son enjoyed his food since he likes mild to moderately spicy foods, but everything (except the raita and naan) was too hot for my palate. So be warned if you aren't into hot and spicy. read more

I have been going to this place for over 8 years and service got bad to worst. I am not going back ever. I walked in, put in my order for a take out ( prawn biriyani) and as I started to pay, I was told - " no Apple Pay" so I reached over for my cash - and was told "ok ready in half hour"So I said - I don't have half hour . And the man said in a very unfriendly manner- "next time you ask how long before order." I have also noticed a decline in their quality as the chickens biriyani had guts stuck inside the chicken pieces fried in the rice which was why I picked prawn biriyani. It is disappointing. This place is almost always packed when we pass by, and with reason. Food is great and prices reasonable. We arrived a little after 5pm on a Sunday and there was already a crowd. Seating was full but we managed to squeeze in by sharing a section with another group. The crowd thinned out by 6pm. Tikka masala is delicious and comes with a ton of sauce, so stock up on the naan for dipping. Chicken & lamb versions are both great and each meat provides a different flavor to the dish. Lamb chops were extremely tender, almost the consistency of liver. That may not sound appetizing but it was a hit with the entire party of five. (Note: only includes 3 pieces.) Fish tandoori was flavorful and spicy. It consisted of a huge chuck of boneless fish. Not my favorite version of this dish but still good. Garlic naan is the bomb. Food is made to order and as fresh as can be, I can even see them assembling my kebob. I also need that rice cooker bc the long grain rice is very picky eaters dream, and then add some tikka masala with any of the 3 squeeze sauces: heaven. I would say to prepare your tastebuds and nose buds for the fire that might creep up. The flavors of all the seasonings and the sear just causes magic in between each swipe of my napkin over my forehead. It's absolutely worth the burn. I love that it's also self-serve when it come to utensils, plates, and drinks; keeps the staff doing what they're better off doing: marinating and grilling.
