I'm sorry but this restaurant is not it. My husband's favorite food is Indian and so we've gone to lots of places in Portland. I was so excited to try out Naan N Curry because of the variety of Naan and the pictures look phenomenal. We ordered a meal for two and I am honestly shocked how tasteless the food was. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and it felt like I was in a simulation where the food looked right but tasted like nothing. I ordered it spicy and there was no spice flavor or heat at all.... my husband got the Chicken Korma and there was barely even any flavor. The garlic cheese naan we ordered could have fooled me, I don't know if there was cheese in it at all but it was $3.50 extra. Unfortunately, I keep feeling disappointed by all the restaurants in Vancouver and for $23.50 per person plus fees and tax I'd rather drive down to Namaste and go to the buffet. read more

I'm not sure what's going on at this place but last 3x has been terrible and I absolutely loved this place at the start. New owners? New Management? Takeout missed 2 items (onion bhaji and rice). Next time I ordered takeout one item missing, the extra order of rice. And visited today and the plates were dirty, plastic ones at that. Then one of the employees takes a table and has the loudest two way call on speakerphone not one care in the world for 5 minutes. I thought I was on candid camera type of show. I stopped in here to give it a shot, and I'm REALLY happy that I did! Staff were incredibly friendly, helpful, and professional. Service was also very prompt. With that said, it looks like we arrived just in time, as they appear to do a HUGE amount of carry-out orders, so the table that arrived shortly after us didn't get as remarkably prompt service as we did once the to-go orders started coming in. The food was SPECTACULAR! Even the samosa appetizer was amazing. They were sprinkled with a staggeringly delicious and flavorful spice powder that compelled me to wipe up all of it that I could manage with the sliced cabbage garnish and to eat that as well. The Naan were off-the-charts good. Freshly-made, and huge in portion size (we ordered the naan basket, and it alone was too much food for my party of two had we eaten nothing but). One could easily make a meal of just the various naan offerings. The mango lassi was also in a completely different plane of existence than literally all others I've had anywhere else. They were very thoughtfully serviced in frozen glasses, which was a really nice touch. The entrees were equally as good as the appetizers, the naan, and the beverages. AMAZING flavors, great portion sizes, and very reasonable prices. The only issues were the ambiance and parking. The interior is very spartan and utilitarian. The color scheme of the monochromatic walls is pretty intense, and can be a bit overwhelming. The are just a few parking spaces available, and they're very tight and narrow. read more

That's kind of a small place. That's probably better for takeout than eating inside. We wanted to get some food for four and they had a great option to do that. So we got the three different curries nan breads, samosas and some dessert which is basically an Indian donut in syrup. We thought all the food was was fine. There wasn't a whole lot of spice in any of it. Maybe we could have selected better. The wife was very happy that she could eat everything with abandoned because she doesn't like much heat. We paid extra for the upgraded Nan bread. We got the spring onion and bread and it was really quite good. The food was ready when they said it would be and it was all quite tasty as we ate it 15 minutes later. Definitely worth visiting again. Probably better for takeout than dining inn, although dining inn would probably be okay. Not too much to say about service. It was ready when we asked for and they were pleasant enough and it was well packaged. read more

Locating in an small unassuming plaza with Papa Murphy's. If I can only pick one Indian Restaurant in the Vancouver area to go it would be here. My go to is the aloo tikki Chaat, butter chicken, chicken Tikka plate, and garlic cheese naan. Their samosas are decent, but definitely had some better ones. Mango lassi is alright. Recently they have been putting ground spices in their drink so you get bites of that which is new to me. A small hole in the wall with no frills, but decent indian food. read more

Found this place through a fb group about dining in Vancouver. Indian food seems hard to come by here, so we were excited to try. I got the butter chicken & bf got the lamb biryani & some garlic naan. We both chose mild spice level for our meals. Oh, the butter chicken was delicious & not too spicy. Chicken was nice & soft & good portion. The lamb was good, however the medium on this meal was spicy. It was good in small portions, my bf's mouth was on fire once he was done. The only thing with lamb, is lots of bones. He did enjoy though, maybe just go with mild next time. It came with rice, which was very fluffy. Naan was yummy also, lots of garlic which I love. The portion was enough to where we both enjoyed the meal again for dinner. Definitely want to come back to try more things. read more

There's not too many Indian food spots in Vancouver. There are some, but I wanted to try Naan n Curry as they have other locations in Portland. I ordered a vegetarian lunch thali to go and a samosa chat. The price for the lunch thali is reasonable for 3 separate curries, rice and naan. I'm honestly not too sure what the vegetarian curries I got are called but they were decent. Taking a guess it may have been Paneer Gobi, Paneer Tikka Masala/Butter Paneer and Aloo Matar. They used paneer to substitute the meat and some had potatoes with it too. The curries were flavorful, some were a bit too sweet for me, some had a nice kick of spice to it. I liked the rice and naan. The naan was a little dense but it was good to dip it in the curry sauce. The samosa chat was good, a good amount of samosa and toppings with different texture and flavors. Overall good experience, they have their lunch specials daily from 10:45am to 2:45pm per their website. This location has a good amount of parking in the back and they have indoor seating too. read more

First time to Naan N Curry a place I have passed by so many times, until my friend took me there for lunch. Very nice people, smiled and greeted us. Choose where to sit, we sat in a clean booth. I had never had Indian cuisine before so my friend suggested we get the lunch special that comes with a variety of dishes. My order comes in an old looking TV plate that looks like a tray. My tray had Chicken Masala, Buttered Chicken, Spicy Pickles, Channa Masala (chickpeas), Rice and ample Naans on my tray. It was delicious and plenty for two, if you'd like to share, for $15.00. Lamb Vindaloo has slivers of lamb mixed with small bits of potato and a curry that was essentially indistinguishable from the Channa Masala. Raita was a bitter joke. The restaurant is small but has cute decor. The service was a bit slow, but only one person was working the front and he seemed to be working the kitchen as well. They were also handling a lot of take out orders. Once we ordered our food came out fairly quick. The lamb samosas were so tasty, hot and fresh, but a bit oily/greasy; they went perfectly with the mint and tamarind sauces. We ordered the curries at medium spice level and they definitely were. So grateful to have this family owned business in St. John's. Excellent food. We've eaten here 8 times. They never disappoint. They may be short staffed and they apologize so much for it. So if you're patient and not high maintenance, hold tight for some delish food. They kept the decor from the previous Rockabilly Cafe which seems oxymoronic but it makes you chuckle so who cares about the 'American' memorabilia whilst eating Indian. Looking forward to returning! As the name says, they do have one of the best naans in PDX area. But the curries flavors are not very consistent. Some it's amazing and sometimes it's OK. Biriyani is also heat or miss. Ambiance is very small shop cantina style with sometimes AC not working. Their other locations have more polished services. But I can easily eat this till Abhiruchi back up and open. read more

Tried this place on a whim and keep going back! The food is good and the staff is very friendly. Not always the fastest service but then, it's NOT a fast food restaurant either! Naan and Curry provided catering for our meeting and everyone was really impressed. Everything had excellent flavors and was great quality. We got the butter chicken, Chana masala, chicken korma, naan. Pakora and samosas. I ordered online which was very easy, I was nervous about same day ordering delivery because of previous experience with other restaurants, but it arrived on time and everything was there. The stand outs were the chicken korma and the masala. The prices are fair. Only thing that could be improved is more chutney/sauces provided. We ordered two family meals and were given just four small containers, but other than that we were highly pleased. Would recommend! read more

We love the naan and curry location in Issaquah. So, we were very excited that they opened a location closer to us. We picked up an order of a veg biryani, chicken biryani, chicken curry and dal. I felt like the taste was not comparable to their other locations. Veg biryani was good; chicken biryani was ok; butter chicken couldn't be called butter chicken and not something we'd ever order again: the dal was comforting and nice. The Biryanis can only be ordered medium spice level or more, so maybe you want to order extra raita to cool your palette. read more
