I am very disappointed with the service my nails!! I got a fill, brow and lip wax. Not only was my manicurist doing my nails rushed, she was rude and used a dry paper towel to wipe my brows and lip. They have private rooms for waxing, but my wax was not done in a private room it was done in front of the entire salon!! My nails look terrible they are thick and uneven. The polish looks like I did myself blind folded. When I asked her to fix my polish she got upset and and said the 2nd coat will fix it. I didn't even get a top coat!! This is a great little nail shop tucked into the corner of the Downer Square shopping center. I walked in and got a full set and a pedicure here. Everyone was very nice, the nail designs on my toes were amazing and lasted for three weeks (and probably would have lasted longer, but I went in for another pedicure.) Leon did a great job on the airbrush on my french manicure. I forgot how much I used to love airbrush, it lasts forever! He even offered me cookies afterward! The only bummer was there weren't any good magazines and they were watching daytime infomercials when I went-- I need to be reading/watching/talking at all times so this made me a tiny :( Next time I will bring my own magazines! read more

I've been a frequent customer here since my last review so I decided to give it an update. The customer service is friendly, prices are decent and well worth the quality of the job they do!!! I love, LOVE my mani pedi finishes and can always count on walking out that swinging door with a cheek to cheek smile on my face. I have become friends with all the workers there, and their energetic, professional mannerisms set a mood so contagious for the other customers, that we can't help but to feel excited to be there. I do not live in San Jose, so I had no idea where to get my nails done for a decent price. I searched on Yelp, and this place seemed promising. I came to get shellac on my natural nails two days ago and so far so good! I do not remember which lady specifically did my nails, (it started with a V) but not a single nail has chipped so far. I usually have the issue of getting gel nails, and them chipping or starting to peel off in 2-3 days! Since I am so happy with my manicure, I came back today and I am currently getting a pedicure by Mary. This place is pretty big for a nail salon and has an enjoyable atmosphere :) I will check in a few days to see how long the gel lasts without chipping. Alright, so I have been going to Nail Art for a long time. My mom used to take me when I was in junior high, now I'm 23. I remember when it was half the size than it is now! Whenever I call to make an appointment, Leon is always on it and tries to get me in as soon as he can. I personally go to Julie, she is THE best for shellac manicures and pedicures. I think my favorite thing about her is that she takes her time. We also have great conversations too, she's just so sweet! So today, I went in to see Julie, of course, for a shellac manicure. She did amazing, as usual. Everyone was friendly and attentive. After my nails were all finished, I paid and left to go across the street to get a sandwich. As I lifted my purse on my shoulder, my nail ripped almost in half Thank goodness I was just across the street! I went back and talked to the other man at the front (I don't know his name) and asked if there was anything they could do! He immediately said yes we will fix it! Kim was the one to fix it. She carefully took off the shellac and placed a thin layer of acrylic on, slapped some of the same polish on, and I was out the door. I would say, that is awesome customer service. Thank you Kim! I hadn't been to this place in years. I used to come occasionally, back in 2003-2006 to get my nails done with my friend and her mom, and would really only get them done for special occasions. I wanted to get my nails done for Valentine's Day; so I walked in after work and let the girl behind the counter know that I wanted to get a gel set with nail art done. I got sat immediately, with Julie. She was very warm and welcoming. I had brought along some photos of what I wanted, and she said it could be done - just needed me to pick the colors. I initially chose a darker red, but when she began to paint my nail it bubbled. She immediately wiped it off and chose a red she thought was more fitting; and I had no complaints. I couldn't even tell the difference! Once she finished painting them, a very nice gentleman; Leon airbrushed my nails. Initially I wanted a single heart in the middle of each ring finger, but he said, "Can i show you something? If you don't like it - it comes right off." I'm open to recommendations! He gave me two little hearts on the bottom of each nail - adorable! Julie finished up after that and I was on my way. I really appreciated the time and care that Julie took with my nails. She was very sweet, but she had difficulty understanding what I wanted to do. I have real nails with acrylics over, and she thought they were fake nails. So when I told her I wanted to replace my acrylics with new ones she brought out the nail cutter! I immediately said Noooo! For ten minutes I was sitting there repeating myself over, and over again. I have been going to Nail Art for over 6 years now. Never had an issue until recently. I would make appointments and when I would come in they would tell me I would still have to wait for the nail tech that I had scheduled my appointment with. 1st time it happened, I was a bit frustrated but waited. Second time that happened, it really frustrated me but yet I waited because I really needed my nails done and had no idea where to go on such a short notice. Two weeks ago the same thing happened again! I called right at 10am when the salon opened and asked what times the nail tech I was requesting had an opening for and I was given a time. I scheduled my appointment for 1pm. When I show up, the nail tech was doing someone else's nails. She told me I had to wait or come back or let someone else do them! The whole point of scheduling an appointment is to A: know what time you will be there and plan around that. B: You choose who is going to do your nails C: Not have to sit there waiting. If that wasn't an issue I would just walk in and wait. I didn't appreciate how nonchalant the nail tech that I scheduled the appointment with was being. I have been going to her for about two years now and I easley spend over $100 every few weeks in there. To some it may not be much, but that's besides the point. Where is the customer service that used to be in place before the new owners took over??? I'm not sure why any owner of a business wouldn't want to give their customers the best service possible. If the owners aren't at fault for this then it's the nail tech who doesn't believe in customer service and only cares about how much money they may get tipped...I hate to say this but Connie and Leon would never have let this type of issue happen in their shop! As hard as it may be finding a new salon and nail tech I feel like I have too. I will not keep spending my money in a place that doesn't appreciate me and my time. read more

This is my usual place to come to and I'm usually content with how my nails turn out. Today (5/22) I took my mom here to get manicures and pedicures for the both of us, and we weren't completely satisfied. Towards the end of my mom's manicure, the technician (Tara) messed up on one of her nails and barely corrected it. After a couple hours, my mom noticed that her nails did not look the same because on one hand, the nail polish/ shine was fading away. I got my nails done by Vivian, a much older lady. I asked for a fill and repair on one finger, and she "fixed" it to make all of them more coffin shaped. I told her during the session that it wasn't even and I believe she made it worse. Kim did a killer job, sanded the nails all the way to the edges nearing the cuticles, also painted to the edges! Attention to details and fast! You can tell when someone is skilled and experienced w their equipment. All nails were same shape and size. Even the repaired one which is hard to get the same as the others for some reason, don't know why I always feel the repaired one is off but not in this case. I am sad I have to write this, first off I want to say 5 STARS for Lily and Kathy they have always been my favorites. Lily did my nails yesterday and they came out amazing! But I was upset with how my mom was handled. I did not get the lady who did hers name, but I took my mom to treat her since its been months with no manicures. But this lady rushed through, cut my mom twice (bleeding both fingers, took a chunk of skin off on one) and STILL continued to file the skin after my mom was physically reacting and telling her it was hurting. We got there at 6 with an appointment, they closed at 7 but still I somehow got a full amazing set by Lily and that lady just rushed my mom they didn't come out good. I told the new owner(Or whoever the guy was in the front) and he gave us a $5 discount so I still ended up paying $90 for both of us together. Which is ridiculous. and not only that to top it off a little cockroach crawled out past us as we were leaving the place which is really gross. I miss Leon and how things were handled before. They need better Customer Service, but that starts with management treating their employees better. read more

If I could rate ZERO I would. I have been a loyal customer since 2014. They have always done a pretty decent job. Idk if it's the new year or what but since the beginning of 2019 they have been messing up. And I kept making excuses for them of why they're doing such a poor job. The first time I paid 35 for a set and the next day two nails broke off. The second time I went to the nail salon I was told my nails would be 35, as we were almost done with my nails, my nail techs coworker came over and stood next to her and started telling her in her language to up the price. So my nail tech then tells me it's going to be 37 because she had to go over the paint a few extra times. At first I didn't care all that much Bc it's 2$ but then her coworker tells her something else and now my nail tech is telling me is going to add another 5$ Bc of my nail length... which I would have happily paid for if my nails were long. They were medium size to short. At that time I should have not returned but me being me, I gave them another chance Bc I've been going to them for so long. However, this was the last straw. I went in to get my nails done yesterday. I went in at 2:00 and I started work at 4pm. My tech Kim, worked on my nails until 4:30. Which in turn made me late for work. It seemed like it was her first time ever shaping a nail. I asked for a french tip on a acrylic and I had to explain to her how to do it since she didn't know. The whole time she kept messing up and going back to fix it. By the end of it my nails were far from what I was expecting. ( I have gone here previously and asked for the same type of nails and always got what I asked for) when she was done she charged me 40. I asked her this time what for and she said it was Bc I wanted french tip and I wanted it long. No where were my nails close to long? I was already extremely late for work and I didn't have time to go back and forth so I paid the 40. I paid 25 in cash and said pay the rest on the card. This morning when I woke up I looked at my bank statements and they charged 25 to my card. That means they stole an extra $10 from me. 25+25=50. When I tell you I'm livid, words can't even explain how upset I am with this customer service and them stealing money from me. I'm happy I didn't tip. I hope what I wrote sticks with you and you learn from my experience to NOT COME HERE. I used to be a fan but if this is how they treat loyal customers by stealing their money and doing an unprofessional job then count me out. I'll be taking my money and business elsewhere. I'm so disgusted by the way I was treated there.. I decided after ten years to get a set of nails to look pretty for the holidays. They've been on for a few weeks, I was going for my fill this coming Saturday. Today a nail popped off after getting out the shower, to my surprise the nail that had popped off was green. I start peeling them all off to see if they are green and some more were but some nails wouldn't come off. I went to the salon tonight to ask them to remove the rest. They yelled at me and told me it was my fault,then proceeded to rip off the remaining nails. Then when he was done he told me "Go" so rudely like I did something wrong.
